42083 - Bugatti Chiron

The brake on the box image is the brake on the front wheel. You can see to the left a part of the new Porsche steering hub and a axle with tow ball and a tow ball linkage. I do think the rear wheels will have brake calipers too. I just don't know how they would be mounted. -

There are discs but there are no sign of this https://engine-table.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/18156548_446565815685384_7662866185661909933_o-e1493835686299.jpg -

I've just realized sth unusual from the last interior leak. There are no calipers for the rear wheels. And there doesnt seem to be any opening for the calipers to be mounted ò.Ó Another thing is that, the rear part look dense already. So the likelihood that there will be working calipers is probably nil. -

Lately I've been missing the awesome feeling of opening a new set and discovering the build as I follow the instructions. The amazing sets that I missed lately are 42055, 42069, 42070, 42078. Too bad I've already owned two copies of each, one for A model and one for B model. Buying another copy just to find that feeling again isn't a good thing to do though. -

I like the term Technicolor! We could use it to avoid the negative connotations associated with the old terms As Ascius said, new Technic, new design philosophies, then new terms as well -

So, with the W16 engine, 7+R gearbox, new piece, will this thing be on par with 8880? -

At first I thought the disc brake has 6 holes and 3 holes will snap into the 3 pin of this piece But actually the disc brake will snap directly into these pieces -

Is that blue the regular one or is it a new one? It looks unusual to me though. The instruction book says "BOOK ONE" on the spine. So two books?!! Lime 1x5 liftarm. -

I've just thought that maybe this time the hazard light won't control the steering, but instead the tilting. And the exhaust pipe is the actual HOG steering knob. -
Not sure if this is just confirmation bias, but I see that before the release of a supercar, there are sets that use the same color, probably to exploit the economy of scale or something. Before the Porsche there were the 42038 and 42052 that use panels in orange. Before the Chiron there were the 42070, 42074, 42077 that use dark azure, and 42055, 42064, and 42079 that use dark blue. So maybe in 2020 we will get a supercar in DBG, medium azure, or purple

It looks like the panels in dark blue in this set are mostly not those in 41999. I see 5x7, 5x11, 2x5, curved 3x11x2, L-shaped, wheel arches. probably 3x11 flat or 5x11 flat. Among those, only 5x11 appears in the 41999. The new panels make the dark blue pallet almost complete. This pallet still lacks the pair 3x7 panels (#3 & #4) though. No hope for a dark blue Porsche </3 -

Prepare for large steering radius folks. Look closely at the picture with the disc brake. To the left you can see the standard steering limiter made with a half pin 1x5 and two yellow half bush... -

How can you guys resist the temptation to build sets When new sets arrive I usually postpone whatever I'm doing to build them. They are also the reasons for my chronic lateness... -

There will be either a knob for the spoiler or a linkage to a brake pedal or sth. Cant imagine it's manual, like grabbing the spoiler and pull it up from the rear. Since it's a premium model I would be inclined towards the latter. That could also be the wow function for this set. -

I don't have any problems with colour coded axles and liftarms. They make my building easier. When I have problems with is a gourdy pallet for appearances. -

Did you guys notice that there are no rear spoiler in the back? Does that mean there's gonna be retractable spoiler? The real car has a retractable spoiler.
