I'm playing devil's advocate here... Although the Lego Adventures sets seem like wasted opportunities for un-produced canon sets to me, my 8 year old son loves both the Jek starfighter and the Jedi Interceptor sets. He see's them on the show, and for him they're just as much Star Wars as a TIE fighter. Maybe his opinion will change as he gets older and appreciates things like canon more, but at the moment, he's pretty happy just building and playing with them. We need to remember that not everyone who will be buying the sets is a 40 year old AFOL who gets distressed about the wrong shade of green being used for Yodas hands (like I do!) -
I'm in the middle of something like this - the gargoyle form the Monsters CMF is the basis of my Maz statue!

From the Brickset report it looks like it'll be fairly easy to pass on some of these sets. The Lego animation series sets are always easy to ignore (if you pick up the minifigs elsewhere) and I'll happy save the money from the CTT and AT-TE for the upcoming Death Star. The TFA sets sound great though, as does the TIE/A-wing. -
[MOC/MOD] Cloud City Carbon Freezing Chamber

Looks good. I've currently combined 2 sets but have a third on the way to add. Any photos without the black background? It makes it kind of hard to see any of the detail. -

Wonder how the change of release date for episode VIII will affect the sets we see coming out over the next eighteen months. TLG now have a whole year after RO to focus on its related sets rather than just a few months. -
I haven't actually built the set yet, but I picked up an additional set on ebay (without minifigs) for £15 - it's brilliant way to get the specific bricks from the set so you can ensure your MOC fits the theme, although I will also nbe adding to it. I'm thinking that parts from the gargoyle CMF could be useful for a Maz statue! @Jayoheazy - am I right to say that your MOC only contains bricks from the original set?

I'm trying to get hold of a few of the imperial officer caps from 75055 imperial start destroyer - part no 6080360. I've tried bricklink and fleabay but no joy. Anybody know anyone with a few for sale? It's easy to get the tan 'rebels' version and I guess the black one will be easy to get too due to the battle pack, but there don't seem to be any dark bluish grey ones anywhere! -

Fingers crossed that when your Death Star MOCs are finished, you'll turn your attention to the Bespin sets! -

I'd love to see this joined up with your previous Death Star sections just like the original sets did. I just loved those sets back in the eighties... -

Although TLG inventions (Yoda Chronicles etc) often produce some good generic minifigures (I'm looking at you, Rusty!), I hope the mystery ships are actually from some as-of-yet-unseen canon material - there's plenty of "real" ships/locations/scenes that could do with being made! -

Could be a placeholder, but one of the minifigures with the smaller black ship looks an awful lot like Dengar!!! Both the smaller black ship and the "Hammerhead" seem to have the same space station background - mybe from the second half of Rebels S2 - surely it'd be too early for Rogue One sets? Also, again they're probably prelim placeholders, but none of the figures with the TIE advance look like Ahsoka and it doesn't look like that's what the names say either. -

I'm not convinced by that the box art looks a burp lain and there's no way a build of that size would only have that many pieces. -
Shadows of the Empire - Great potential?

Back in the days when instructions used to feature alternative models, the instructions for 6211 ISD featured the outrider as an alternative build suggestion. Never tried it myself but some one has http://www.fbtb.net/2006/01/18/6211-imperial-star-destroyer-alternate-models-hi-res-images/ -

If anyone's interested, they have the spider droid micro fighter for £4 in sainsburys in the uk - some nice parts plus the geonosis battle droid. -
Cheers for the LDD file - I've never followed someone else's MOC using it before (I had to get the app especially!) so I'm really looking forward to it! Hopefully should be able to source some of the parts from the official original too!

What's the carbon freezing chamber like?
Richpepperell replied to SocialRefund's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I picked it up last week and overall I'm positive about it. The ugnaught is a must have, the boba fett is better than my other most recent one (desert skiff) and the carbonate han is good too. If, like a lot of people, you already have a reasonable Han and boba, sell them on and you'll probably get most of the cost of the set back. The build itself feels like it's half finished to me - I'll be getting a second set to add to it. I've already added a couple of extra 'segments' and I think it looks much better already! https://www.flickr.com/gp/richpepperell101/S9cAu3 -

I know this isn't strictly/purely SW related, but it's for a carbon freezing chamber MOD so... Anyone got any good techniques for a simple raising/lowering platform? I've been playing about all afternoon and have 2 reasonable solutions - one based on using a technic screw gears and one similar to the way the gunner platform is raised in the FO transporter. I was wondering if anyone else had any good solutions that they use for such situations. The main restrictions are that it must fit inside the new carbon freezing chamber set (with the official mechanism removed) and ideally should be operated by a single knob on the outside like the original mechanism. Alternatively, can anyone point me towards a set that might include a mechanism like this. Cheers! -
Picked this up today, but I think I'll be breaking it down and using the parts to MOC something in a similar style as it feels a bit unfinished to be honest. Ugnaught is rocking though!
-
This looks great, although it might be a little bit on the small side to my eye. Much better scale the the TLG release though. How is Rey actually held in position? It seems she's wedged in behind a grey stud... Would love to see a shot without a pilot/rider/driver.

The visual dictionary also has a photo of - I bet the snowspeeder would have featured here too. Ps. The film will have been out for a fortnight in a couple of days - can we ditch the spoiler tags then? At my work, you've got three days to watch any TV shows before spoilers are fair game!
