  1. The summer sets do, yeah, but I haven't seen anything new yet. I'll let you know if they show up though. I just got my mind on other things currently, mostly my tabletop miniatures again. Oh dear god I completely forgot to write a review for Brain Attack Evo. I guess it's a bit late now, isn't it?
  2. Oh man, I'm again late for the party here, as I forgot to mention wave 2 is also already available here in Germany. Already bought 2 Slumbos cuz I need his big azure jaw-piece as shoulders for my Transformers MOC. I also bought Lunk, as his selection of parts looked more interesting than Flurr's on a first glance, but I'm pretty sure by now I'll need Flurr as well. I'm also totally in love with all that azure that's going on with these little dudes, though ironically I also need more medium blue, but anyway, new Mixels!
  3. That looks fantastic. I'm surprised you managed to achive such a symmetrical look, since the Cragsters are usually asymmetrical in their design. Anyway, I really love the bulkiness of this mech. How many parts of the whole gang ended up unused here?
  4. Heh, I just saw this fella over at TOMOPOP. It's a pretty great MOC! I like the designs of the head and the hands in particular.
  5. Don't worry, once I got those done, they'll land on my MOCpages for sure!
  6. To be frank, I mostly buy the Mixels as parts packs for MOCing. The new balljoints make robot MOCs at a scale similiar to most action figures a lot easier. In fact, I mostly intend to create my own Transformers characters in proper scale to Hasbro's official toys.
  7. Is it actually known when the next waves of Mixels will hit shelves? Also, just saying, I'd like to see a Technic piece containing of a cross-axle and the new cup (just like we already got those with balls at one end).
  8. As VBBN put it, it mostly depends on what you expect from the line. The Slizers do have a few neat pieces great for Technic/Constraction MOCs, but in terms of function the were beaten by most Bionicle lines.
  9. I recently bought Splitter Beast vs. Furno & Evo. Haven't unpacked it yet, but I'm looking forward to do so.
  10. I'd like to mention that the Mixels are available in German LEGO stores now. Just picked up Seismo yesterday. I'm looking forward to build this little fellow. ^^
  11. Well, you have to use Real Time Weapon Change so you can hit its weak point for massive damage. Also, the main reason why I want Tunneler Beast is because with all the red shells I already own I might be able to make something like Beast Wars Megatron (or T-Wrecks, if we go by the colour). I just have to figure out how to make a good-looking, rotating torso (and how Megatron actually transforms, since I never owned the actual toy).
  12. Oh please yes, I want a Giant Enemy Crab!
  13. While I wasn't aware of the majority of Bionicle's plot, the few movies I watched also felt to me that they were little more than "toy commercials" - but I won't complain about that, because I'm a Transformers fan, and as such, I'm completely aware that any form of media for toy-driven franchises solely exists to sell toys. Heck, I haven't watched the Invasion from Below episode yet simply because I don't pay much attention to the HF movies anyway, but thanks to this lengthy conversation, I'm about to check it out myself (if someone could give me a hint where to find it). That being said, I agree with LewiMOC and would appreciate it if we stop to derailing this topic into a debate about Pacific Rim and the quality of the HF movies (especially since there wass already a topic for the latter, and I'm sure there's also one for the former).
  14. Over at the Legends of Chima 2014 discussion, Snakey Jones posted a link to a German shop showing not only the packaging of the new Chima and Hero Factory sets, but also their prices. Here's the link to page 7, where Hero Factory starts (it continues on page 8). The Chima stuff can be found on the first pages. And ho boy, the Queen Beast is pricey.
  15. I do believe that some of the Dark Forest sets were available in Germany too. At least the stronghold looks vaguely familiar to me, unless I confuse it with something similiar (I'm pretty positive to own some of the shields and minifigs though, were these exclusive to this line?). Znap was not that widespread? Hm, that might explain why I hear even less about it here than about Galidor (which seemed far more alien to me, as it wasn't strongly advertised in Germany and TRU exclusive). We might wanna mention it in the Hero Factory 2014 thread then.
  16. Hmmm... that would be odd, I think. A whole sub-line not being released somewhere sounds rather unlikely to me, though I'm no expert when it comes to things like this (I, for my part, know only that the HF Dropship wasn't available in Germany).
  17. Heh, I'll think I'll come back to this discussion once I've seen the Movie. It isn't released here in Germany yet.
  18. I don't think that LEGO has doubts about marketing the Friends design just because it doesn't really show up in the LEGO Movie. I agree with Aanchir here. If they would've mixed and matched various kinds of figures, it might would be a bit confusing. Also, I'm pretty sure the directors want appeal to both kids and parents, who mostly grew up with LEGO's most well-known toy figure, and that is the Minifigure. I agree with point 1, that would have been cool, point 2 however... I don't see Mindstorms being necessarily evil, also, R.O.B. wasn't really evil in the Supspace Emissary of Super Smash Bros. Brawl either, as he and his folks were just simply enslaved by the actual big bad.
  19. I personally also prefer Action Figures. While I have been buying a few Minifigure sets in the past (mostly Lord of the Rings), the only LEGO I actually bought during the first 2000s were BIONICLE sets. But since I own one of the Invastion from Below Sets, I really dig the Minifigure-design of the Heroes too.
  20. Hooray, new pics! Time to join the fun of commenting them! Rocka Crawler looks very sturdy and mech-like, which I like. I think he'd look better with bigger and beefier tools/weapons. I'm not too keen on gold though. Tunneler Beasts is yet another one of these little sets which don't offer many parts, but make up for it with a very pretty coloration. Red and Grey work well together since Protoman, and Surge (whose helmet looks odd on these pics, but still alright to me) sets a nice contrast to the monster in this set. Also, red is a very common colour in Hero Factory, so a red Beast Head is a great addition for MOCing. Tunneler Beast got very good chances of landing in my collection. Aw yeah, Bulk Drill Machine looks neat. I like it's sturdy, massive look, though something about that drill doesn't sit fine with me. Perphaps it's position, which doesn't seem to make much sense (unless it can move forward enough to drill the earth in front of it). Silver and Orange work well, I wonder just like everyone else about his eye colours (though I have to admit, I hadn't noticed it myself at first). Anyway, I really like Bulk's helmet. Crystal Beast is, well, a Beast with lots of trans-blue pieces. And Bulk. Sure buy. Breez' flea machine shares it's basic design with Bulk's Drill Machine, but the design works better here since it's more fitting to Breez' catching device. Surge's and Rocka's Walker/Glider combo looks good, and I like blue anyway, so I might pick this one up too, but I'm not sold to 100% yet. Now, the mighty Queen Beast is a mixbag for me. On one hand, the set comes with plenty of pretty neat pieces, and both Evo's Walker and the Alien Queen look very, very cool. On the other hand, this set might be really expensive. I guess it will depend on the price if I'll pick this one up or not. All in all, since I've warmed up to the whole concept, the summer wave appeals more to me than the winter wave now. The beasts are more impressive, and the heroes use mechs that don't look like headless constraction-sized characters anymore.
  21. Speaking of five-fingered hands, I have to mention my Self-MOC here: Of course, his hands are extremely beefy and bulky, but that was my original intention anyway.
  22. I appreciate the new Chima sets for simply introducing many new parts for the constraction-scale, especially since it's all very fantasy-themed, which brings nice variation in the so far more sci-fi inspired style of Hero Factory. Mixing Fantasy with Science Fiction is awesome anyway, it's also one of the things that always draws me to the Space Marines of Warhammer 40.000, which are a prime example of this (of course, it's also one of the major appeals of Bionicle). But I also really like the new Hero Factory sets. The mechs of the first wave don't appeal to me that much (they don't look mech-like enough for my liking, with the possible exception of Stormer's Freeze Machine), but the stuff that comes with the Summer Wave gives a nice walker vibe which I also appreciate.
  23. Since I passed on his initial version, I'm already tempted to pick this Laval up, and the new pics just increase this. I also didn't realize until now that the Vulture fellow comes with a blue chainsaw, but Mungus appeals more to me with his hammer and transblue-leg.
  24. I share the love for Surge's and Bulk's walkers, and I also dig Breez' mech. Which actually surprises me, because usually I like bipedal mechs far more, but the one from the Winter wave don't really appeal to me in for various reasons. Crystal Beast also keeps growing on me, even though its hands look kinda wonky.
  25. My interest into these little guys started with the thought they'll be great parts packs, but their wacky series really starts growing on me too. It's been quite some time since I got so interested into on of TLC's original storylines.
