  1. He has a particular posting style between those 3 accounts only creating each new one after blasting the whole hobby and getting banned then coming back 6-12 months later. He also has been posting on reddit under the u/LordsofMedieval name with the same posting style and now he is here again with the same username. The only difference is this newest post uses Studio instead of LDD and BlueRender.
  2. He has been around for a while. Also known as @ShrikeArghast @ProvenceTristram @SteamSewnEmpire among others.
  3. He builds for Gauge 1 or G-guage which is wider than LEGO track. O-guage is narrower than LEGO track.
  4. If you do some seaching here there are a few folks who have setup LEGO trains to run on O-gauge track. Only on the motors.
  5. I mean that is kind of true. A long wheelbase FBF of even XL wheels will struggle on R40.
  6. "Acutually knows something" I do actually know and Cale is doing some shows this week and last. I am sure he will be in touch soon.
  7. I talk to Cale (owner of Brick Model Railroader) quite regularly. They are still around but it is show season. I would recommend emailing them directly instead of posting on an unaffiliated forum about it.
  8. I believe they are #15 or XXXL sized at 15.5 plates in diameter
  9. That is great! I have made custom colors already so I am more interested in how this color does the random and if it can be weighted like the LDraw_Cliff program. I would want one that is more dark grays and one that is more light grays and I would like to have dark tan mixed in.
  10. Can you share how you did this? I would be pretty interested especially with @SylvainLS 's random cliff generator tool
  11. I havent used them yet but I might need to for some planned autoracks
  12. Another thing to consider is that Studio uses AVERAGE NEW brick prices. When building modules like these, there are plenty of ways to cut back on costs like buying the brick that will be below the "ground" in used condition and using any color baseplate you may have on hand, buying parts through LUGBulk, buying on the PAB wall, etc. Thats just the start of price optimization that is almost its own hobby if you are building a large layout using the MILS or Moduverse standards. I have it down to less than $20 per basic MILS module and the cost to convert a modular building to MILS is even less because the baseplate is already included so there is minimal cost to add some filler brick and plate to raise up the building.
  13. I have used Brick Print Studios (Brick Forge) and OKBrickWorks. https://brickforge.com/ https://www.okbrickworks.com/ Both have had great results for me.
  14. The scale modeling folks had their own forum then decided the minimum scale was in the 1:20 range (aka large technic type builders or model team style) or very small greater than (less than maybe?) 1:100. So like the spaceships and other models in the Saturn V size or the Queen Mary that one dude made at 1:200 was fine but anything "minifig scale" like 1:30 to 1:60 was definitely excluded. All that to say is, it was tried and we we excluded @JopieK and @Milan would also have some decent input.
  15. The reduced friction from roller bearings is definitely a problem if you push that red stop button. I tossed trains on the floor because heavy cars pushed the light cars off the track due to momentum alone.
  16. A reason you are having trouble finding these files is because most all of the places that sell them are in the business of selling the wheels. STL files are used directly for 3D printing and its trivial to make a dat file into a printable file. What you are asking is basically to give you the work for free. I have looked at various ways to make some dat files that will work for modeling but wont work for printing but I haven't been very successful thus far. The folks that have provided them either arent as concerned about this as I am or have figured out some other way to make dat files that dont compromise their product.
  17. After looking at the new pics. I am pretty confident that the old 6x34 drop center train bases are gone. They are replaced with this https://rebrickable.com/parts/64954/vehicle-base-trailer-half-6-x-16-x-2-23/ This is sad but also a good step towards seeing more interesting builds. The loco looks like a siemens or other modern electric loco and the lack of a molded front is a huge bonus to me. The shaping is nice and the colors are great.
  18. If bricklink gives you trouble, I would like to host the studio file on my website www.bricktraindepot.com if that would be acceptable to you.
  19. It is tall but I also build my track on top of MILS so the top of the rails are already 9 plates above the baseplate. It really gives me space to do a lot of terrain variation.
  20. I have been making MILS modules for a long time. I like to use @michaelgale's road system so my buildings end up on 7 plate tall bases putting the sidewalks at 8 plates above the baseplate and the roads at 6 plates above.
  21. As @XG BC said it is likely the thermal fuse. Running them without track put the motors in a "no-load" condition where the only friction seen by the motor is in the gears to make the wheels turn. Once it is on track the motor has a lot more load because it has to do work to move the train. Are your trains very heavy weight or very light weight? If they are heavy then its definitely a thermal issue. If they are very light weight, then it could be tripping the thermal fuse due to the wheels just spinning in place like a long burnout around the track.
  22. these look great! I the suspension is fun and the overall shape would lend itself well to a starting point for a Sprint Car or even a Mini Sprint.
  23. it is not just you. I had the same thought.
