  1. Actually she has, as Samurai X. https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=973pb1975c01&in=M
  2. Given the face and hair, I think the Sentai-looking fig is supposed to be the Ninjago character Nya.
  3. While much of Eslandola skews to the Spanish/Portuguese, there is a small portion of the population that are culturally pre-Roman Celts (my creation). Most originate from the hills near the border with Corrington. The Truachesh neh Triuri (People of the Triple Goddess) are an ancient culture that were nearly wiped out by the wars that resulted in the current borders on the Madrice Peninsula, but have seen a resurgence of late. Their church, the Crahaish neh Triuri, is actively trying to spread their faith (my sigfig is a Wandering Acolyte), though few from outside the culture take the faith seriously.
  4. IG has an image of a City set with what looks like the stern of a 'sunken' ship. It's one of those huge modern ship sets, but it's inclusion could mean other shipwreck builds in more moderate sets.
  5. There's also an image of a City set with what looks to be the stern of a 'sunken' ship.
  6. I think Walmart treats IP series differently. My local won't even stock the regular CMFs, but when The LEGO Movie 2 sets were being pushed with display stands they had that series alongside. Strange that they stock just about every other blind bag product under the sun, but not the regular LEGO CMFs. I had to rely on Target, which is horribly inconsistent in how, and where, they display them.
  7. The helmet looks like another recolor of the piece from the CMF Galactic Bounty Hunter, Ant-Man, & Firefly.
  8. Series 20 is officially available on the US LEGO Shop@Home.
  9. I'd prefer a Ship Vs Ship set where each ship has sections that can be 'blown off' by the other's weapons. LEGO is all about action play these days,
  10. Not because of what it looks like, but because all of the IG shares I've seen have Ninjago hashtags.
  11. The Robot Programmer was not a waste. The flannel shirt around the waist print, something I've wanted for a while, would never make it into a City set. Useful parts across the board.
  12. A few color substitutions here and there, and some slightly out of position plates and tiles, could give the ship an aged look.
  13. If it's the same fig I'm seeing (white and blue robes, white head, med. nugt. hair) then she looks to be from Ninjago.
  14. You mean ermine/ferret. When a stoat's fur becomes white it is an ermine. Ferrets are one of the few weasel species that have white as a normal fur color, rather than being albino. In any event, I was referring to an obscure bit of animation (from the 90s, I think) that had a richly dressed woman walking an albino otter on a leash. I have no clue what the scene was from, but the art reminded me of Aristocats.
  15. Great! Now I have this strange image in my head of the otter in white, with a rubber harness and leash, being walked by this fancy socialite fig.
  16. I found an issue when rebuilding this in Stud.io. I'm on the first ship section in the instructions. For the center of the crossbar on the mast you are supposed to use a 3L axle, but the connectors on either side in the program don't have axle holes that are a full stud deep, so it shows a little yellow. It's a small issue, but something that causes the crossbar to come out longer than on the actual set, even if you sub out the center axle with a 2L.
  17. The Super Mario button has been removed from the Offers page, at least on the US shop. I tried at least a dozen times yesterday to get that button to work, but it never did. Hopefully they will have it fixed soon.
  18. This page has a couple of good images, and a number of ship class descriptions. This page is where I got my info on clipper ships. As for the CBC, I was thinking of letting the original ship remain a wreck. I'm planning to try my hand at a digital build of a Cross Bone II vs an Armada ship, and have both with removable sections for battle damage. Hopefully the new laptop that should be delivered soon will be better for running Stud.io. Back to Barracuda Bay, I'll probably wait till near my birthday to order it. Unlike many, I'm still working during this time, so I have less time than I'd like to build.. I feel proud, though, to be a 'Critical Industry Employee' (with official documentation).
  19. What your describing sounds like a sloop, which fits better than clipper as a description for the original set. The term clipper usually referred to a three-masted ship, with a light hull, and a sail plan designed to maximize the wind potential. Even ships as large as barques could be considered clippers. It makes me think whoever it was that named the set had little to no knowledge ship classes. There are also at least two shipwreck sets that slightly different versions of Green Vest appeared in that could have been the CBC. A build resurrecting the original would best be called Cross Bone II. The problem lies in the fact that the modern boat hull parts are too large to capture the scale you need. It would have to be a brick built hull, which would eat up a significant percentage of the parts,
  20. Yes, let's update the CBC! Make Greengori Vestpucci (Green Vest) the captain, and have him training a new crew.
  21. THE POWER OF DISNEY!!! ALL HAIL THE MOUSE!!!
  22. When it comes to the monkey (a point I made on Pirates forum) it isn't just the mold, but the assembly process. To build the monkey on a scale for widespread distribution you need assembly machines to be reconfigured in multiple production facilities across the globe. This requires a significant budget to do.
  23. Interesting character take. Since I've never cared about what LEGO intended for any fig, this wouldn't have occurred to me. I just thought the fig's component parts would be useful. I get the desire for positive representation. I see it not as 'agenda pushing', but an acknowledgement that trans people are a reality. The not so well known sci-fi novel Quozl by Alan Dean Foster posits a way to avoid widespread fear and condemnation of the very different (aliens in the book). Positive representation in media to children over time, to the point of bordering on the ordinary, was a large part of why it worked in the story. Also by making the group seemingly banal and relatable to large portions of the population (avoiding politicians as long as possible), and in so doing make those who refuse to accept the reality the ones who become socially unacceptable. <End of rant.> While the figs are outstanding updates of the classic characters, I'm glad that they don't go too detailed. They would fit alongside any future mainline Pirates theme, and some could even be reused.
