Heroica RPG - Quest #11: A Matter of Principle
Rumble Strike replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I don't think she lays golden eggs, Julian, or Atramor here would be off living on his own private island somewhere and not here rescuing you. But I'm sure he will let you hold McCaffrey," he said, nodding to Atramor. McCaffrey was doing exactly what Tarn hoped, distracting Julian from his tears so that they could move him out of danger. Obviously we will have to wait for a concensus but Tarn thinks that we should destroy the contents of the search and leave. We have what we came for - the boy. -
Whilst we are on the subject, I love the comments your enemies make in the battles too, Jebadiahs. They both add character story to enemies and react to what the heroes say.

Despite the tremors Tarn forced a big smile on his face and tried to reassure the boy. "No, Julian, no-one is going to die because of you. We have come here to take you home. Would you like to come with us now? We can get you out of here. That man there has a magic compass that'll lead us back..." Tarn pointed to Atramor. McCaffrey, startled by the tremor, had escaped from his hat and was pecking irritably at the sparse offerings on the cavern floor. "And he has a magic chicken!" finished Tarn. -

Feeling the rush of the mead slowly leave him after the fight, Tarn said almost regretfully, "They should have listened to us. Why didn't they listen?" He checks that the boy is OK. He crouches down, eyes level with the tearstained face, and speaks softly. "Hey there, what's your name? Are you OK?" -
I think some of the enw signups are going above and beyond with their roleplay. For Quest#13 I might just have to take a whole boatload of level 1s at this rate

"Sounds good to me, Officer Jackson. Let's go!"

Heroica RPG - Quest #11: A Matter of Principle

Tarn shook his head with a stern frown as he heard the Order dismissing their arguments and suggestions to destroy all that they had collected so far. He was no Knight, but he thought he had spoken eloquently, at least for a Barbarian. He was very glad that his Questmates thought the same as him regarding the ingredients. He knew that they were a united force, and they would not go meekly against the Order. Tarn used the glass-blowers hollow blade technology inside his battle axe, and consumed his bottle of Mead. Fire blazing in his eyes, he fearlessly squared up to the Order's Turbaned Leader, the biggest and baddest of the enemies they faced, attacking him from the front row. -

Tarn follows up Atramor's earlier suggestion... "Why don't we burn the book? That'll end it here." -

Tarn tried to smooth over the Rogue's rough words. "My friend here speaks wise words. What he proposes is a fair and equitable solution for all concerned. I would implore you fine gentlemen of the Order to studiously consider his offer." -

Tarn looked at Atramor and shook his head. They couldn't risk trusting this Order of the Crimson Crown and the only way to guarantee that the plague would not be reborn was to stop anyone having all of the ingredients. -

"We seek the boy, not the impending doom. He is young and does not know what has been asked of him." Tarn then whispers to the others, "I think these guys are thinking the same as us, as we both distrust the Guild... but can we trust them?" -
I really like the look of the jeep, it's rugged and I love the fact that the striping is printed. The dinosaur looks great but I did expect it to be hard plastic like the horses or camels.
-
Yet another lovely set WBD. I really appreciate the efforts you have put in with these. When you see the stuff I've made for Quest#13, it's not in the same league as any of the stuff we've seen from the QMs.

"Thank you Amber, your faith in me is quite touching. I will go to Robbie's house, if I may."

"Sirs," began Tarn, politely, "we were sent by Heroica to find this boy, as the Guild he works for told us he is missing. We followed his trail here. What business does your order have with such a young person?" -

"Keep with the compass until it leads us into some kind of arcane magical deathtrap or something!" said Tarn cheerily. He gripped his axe and felt more confortable than he had in a while. This was his kind of adventuring. -
Gotta hand it to you Pie, that was well spotted. Nice work! And also well hidden by WBD. I guess those lovely sets aren't just eye candy! I wonder if we didn't draw a connection earlier because we didn't do the shops in the "correct" order?

"I am happy to follow the compass at this stage" said Tarn, glad that so far there had been no undead enemies. -

"Right is fine." said Tarn. He shivered. He certainly hadn't imagined he'd be back in a dark cave-like place so soon. He thought for a moment about Ellaria, bravely volunteering to hold the torch for the rest of the party. She certainly was more courageous than she gave herself credit for. -
So guys, go over the quest thread like hawks whilst I sleep! I'll check in in the morning to see if we've solved it yet

Yes but you are dealing with a group who thought the turban was important This could still take a while.
-
We must have more than 12 Rogues - about half of them have signed up for Quest#13 at any rate!

OOC: Sorry Bob, obviously those are not the answers of the entire group! Just wanted to get the "Chapter One" bit in, thought it was funny! Winston agrees that investigating the Swanson's house would be useful at this stage.

From the Wiki research I did, he was listed as a "Batman: Brave and the Bold" villain, but it doesn't surprise me he was an earlier villain because bringing back really obscure characters seemed to be that show's M.O. I'm, erm, not sure that I'd want to roleplay as him, though. Lots of food-related puns for someone to use, though!

"So the questions we are most able to answer at the moment are: 3) How did he die? Involved in a scuffle and fell into a fountain, banging his head 4) When was he killed? Chapter One
