Tarn nodded and followed up Atramor's words. "The people of this village were instrumental in helping us find the bandits. Without their help we would never have navigated the treacherous falls. The Loremaster and the other Elders should be commended."
-
"Agreed, the werepanthers were gracious hosts and definitely helped us in our Quest. Despite Vincent's warnings I would not feel right leaving here without some assurances that the village will not face reprisals for having the bandits holed up here. We must be very careful not to annoy the aoi, though." Tarn leads the party to the Thumb. OOC: I know Sandy has done everything to get us to go back, but this is in character for Tarn and the others. We'll see if Sandy is a merciful QM or not

Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Day Two

"I still think U'dargan's digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself. It is very interesting that the factions we have so far (I apologise in advance for any mispronounciation of names) such as Scamander/Panduin/Piro/Ezeal/Feyler and Calico/Brienne/Karabodys/Cromeo have all been uncovered, through their own public actions or admittance, yet U'dargan steadfastly refuses to divulge who her associates are, and neither have they come forward."- 510 replies

Yes to a Chromeknight Quest, and yes to a mystery Quest! Bring 'em on! Although after Tarn finishes helping rescue Jun he will want to go back to Dastan to see Ella. So Zeph, when will that happen?

"These may have been relevant only when we were in the pagoda, but it doesn't hurt to examine the cannon parts myself and Tesni have, to see if they can be used."

"You are not making this easy, U'dargan. Our collection of heroes are always going to be suspicious when a self-appointed faction goes off and does their own thing. Can you not see how that looks to the rest of us?"- 510 replies

I would still like to do another Quest at some point, but only for newbies. Not that there are many of them at the moment.

"I was not aware that all transactions must be in public. That makes sense as to why he did it during this day. As you say, pretty sneaky though. I know several of us clubbed together to buy the magnifying glass, but that was all done in public and as transparently as possible. There is much to be gained operating in the shadows, but certainly more for Nephilim than a true hero."- 510 replies

"I understand your frustration, Atramor, and I'm not happy about leaving these villagers here either, but with the Azure Ark up above, they could take out the entire village and us along with it. Master Legonardo, does the Destiny's Bounty have any armaments to go up against such a vessel? I would think not if we were the ones taking out the Rocs."
-
"You wish to fight some more, Atramor? We said we would not get involved with the rebellion, in fact stopped it dead. Now you wish to go after the Blue Hand?"

Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Day Two

"It is clear that we have already split up into several factions. These factions may be rubbing each other up the wrong way, like the Satyr, but that doesn't mean each should think the other a Nephilim. But that is why transparency and communication are our best allies here. I applaud the efforts of the Satyr to try to make sense of what each of us did, despite his abrasive attitude. For myself, I have not yet heard enough to clear Piro the Visionary, so I shall not stay my hand at this time. I still find him suspicious. But there are others who have raised suspicion - U'dargan, with the behind-the-scenes gold swapping to buy Counterstrike Gloves. Although if one can do this at night, and he is Nephilim, one wonders why he did not wait until nightfall. Eris still bats away suspicion with no avail, I think the ranged classes will be under particular scrutiny the entire time."- 510 replies

Tarn raged at the others once the Thumb and his goons were out of earshot. "What a bunch of stuck-up, good for nothing, smug, superior Vorth-holes! No wonder the Protector felt it was time for a rebellion!" "We have defeated the 108 Stars, rescued Jun and have the Protector's head. Come, let us go back to the Ambassador to tell her the good news. Master Legonardo, is there anything you can do for Emeray and Topazor? They were stout and true companions, and if they no longer function, know that they served us with dedication and honour."
-
Tarn looked up at the airship and swallowed hard. He knew that the Ji Pei technology was superior to anything he had seen. The haughtiness left his voice as he replied to the Thumb. "On the request of the Ambassador Lady Shanxian, the bandits known as the 108 Stars of Destiny are all dead. They had planned a rebellion and murdered all the Tao Warriors in the Pagoda of Nine Elements to start their rebellion, which is why we were involved in the first place, to find out what had happened, alongside Jun Ji Pei, the Ambassador's son. When we were defeated, they took Jun Ji Pei hostage, whom we have now recovered, along with finding and killing the inner circle of the 108 Stars, the Constellation behind the falls here. So to you we may be simply be mercenaries, but I am sure you will see we have done Xu a great service today."
-
Tarn looked haughty. "We are here under the instruction of Ambassador Lady Shanxian of the Ji Pei. Whom might you be?"

"I find this very interesting. Panduin is a Barbarian so had to be face to face with Eris to attack. Can you elaborate on your decision to attack Eris, Panduin? Also of note, Eris is one of the few names on Zpilf's 'ranged attacker' list. Eris, care to share what you were up to last night?"- 510 replies

"Ezeal, I do understand your need for action, your thirst to do something positive rather than standing about talking. But for all that, the only confirmed person we have killing someone who ended up being a hero, is you. Ordinarily, this could be shrugged off as a mistake, a youthful indiscretion, but considering you are now publicly allied with the one who may be our best lead for being Nephilim, it paints a bad picture of both of you."- 510 replies

Yeah I am so self-conscious about the loot distribution when party leader that Tarn usually ends up with very little to make sure everyone else gets what they want. But this time I really wanted him to have the Great Blade. A perfect weapon for a Raider.
-
OOC: well Lee is the only Chi Monk in the party! Tarn slots another Grand Potion into Helbaerend's hollow blade and then equips the Great Blade, hefting the giant weapon in his hands to get a feel for the balance.

"I believe the Orc is no longer an active hero with actions available, but a mere observer now. It is interesting that we may have found our first Nephilm, and the reasoning is sound. In case it needs more of us to attack, I shall Phalanx Attack Piro the Visionary. I am also saddened you were targeted, Theodor. Yesterday you spoke much sense, which may be why you were attacked. Cowards."- 510 replies

OOC: I hate this bit, I don't want to do wrong by anybody. Loot Distribution: Thalion - Zirconia, Phoenix Essence Atramor - Galactic Armor Nagure - Xiaolin's Bident, Greaves Tesni - Phoenix Dress Benji - Phoenix Essence, Unicorn Helmet Tarn - Great Sword Lee - Nunchuks All 6 player characters get an Elixir each All 6 player characters get 156 gold, except Benji gets 312, Tarn 0 Tarn hands Thalion back Veritas/Equitas. "Thank you for the loan of these fine weapons. I am not sure we can carry the automata. Perhaps Nagure is big enough to take them with us." He turns to Benji. "If it is gold you need, maybe I can help, my friend. I have already given you my share of the spoils, but if there is any more you need..."
-
Great use of some newer Minifig parts. The Mouth of Sauron's helmet always looks so cool!
-
"Benji, I think it makes sense for Atramor to take the armour. Combined with the Pheles Rod it offers him more survivablity. Perhaps you could wield the Great Sword instead? It is a mighty weapon for such a ferocious warrior. I think the Zirconia should go to Thalion. Tesni killed the Protector and will get the Qu'lan Blade. Nagure, what say you to the items? Is there anything that catches your eye?"

Tarn felt tired. Bone-weary. The constant fight was wearing him down. No longer was he the idealistic young man trained by Rystael, instead he had learned more about the world and the ways of men. He looked at the head f the Protector, and then at Jun, burying a former lover. They had killed all 108 Stars of Destiny, and now Jun was free again. But was he ever truly free to begin with? Were any of them? He stared at his friends in a melancholy silence, savouring the relative peace and calm.
