  1. "There's a gem in there?" asked Tarn dubiously, peering at the Shield. "Well if it's an Amethyst, they are pretty hard to come by, I guess. Thanks Atramor. I'd rather deal with Anwyl than Fabian any day of the week."
  2. Now that the Hall was quieter, Tarn went back to his table, which featured some of the weaponry taken from the 108 Stars of Destiny. Not wanting to deal with Fabian unless he really had to, he slashed his prices, although he knew that these items were class-specific. For Sale: Skull Shield (SP:6; immunity to darkness; suitable to Black Knights only) - 100 80 gold Death Mask (Increases assassination chances to 1/3 when the target’s health is lowered to 1/3; suitable to assassins; headwear) - 50 40 gold
  3. My only question is, uh, without wanting to get into too much detail, how does an undead man get a woman pregnant? Unless the intimation is that the child wasn't his?
  4. A sad tale all round, Endgame. No wonder Vitus dealt with it by creating Syntax as a defensive mechanism.
  5. Am loving the party dynamic in Quest#82 already. I know from experience that Guts and Maurice love to snipe at each other verbally the whole time.
  6. Seeing that his friends had also signed up for another Quest, Tarn thought it prudent to try and join them. He had travelled far and wide in service to Heroica and the desert would not faze him. Tarn signs up for Quest#85.
  7. Reading the entries for Quest#44 in the NPC Index, it still astounds me how much work Sandy has put into creating the past and present of Olegaia, and how strands of story are so successfully weaved together. Just incredible.
  8. There was a lot more aspects of Mafia in this one than the superhero bloodbath. Also it seemed that Sandy had made things fairly complicated to fit in as much Heroica goodness as possible in terms of abilities and items. A more streamlined 'pure' bloodbath would go down a treat in the Heroica setting.
  9. Thanks for the kind words, although playing a grumpy old man wasn't much of a stretch for me
  10. I agree that the gameplay was forged on that first day, which was all discussion, and making sure people did not attack others indecriminately. Luridan proved to be very useful, for example, but he'd managed to alienate pretty much everybody with his roleplay early on. I really liked having a character to play, and thought it was quite cool that Sir Rubinstein and Theodor saw themselves as old warhorses and were working together from then on, rather than through investigations etc.
  11. I had great fun, well done to everyone, especially WBD as the Heroica focal point for those 'behind the scenes' players not part of the more vocal Town block. But Sandy, there's no way Sir Rubinstein would have just walked off, maybe after he found out Asa was chosen as the replacement Veteran, but not before. Still, gives the QMs some new cameos/NPCs to throw into Quests. Lovely photography as always, really pleased to see the Hall actually being used. And the challenges were good too.
  12. Tarn noticed that Atramor and Nyx had signed up for Quest#83, so he did the same, writing Tarn Valco in his spidery writing underneath Quest#83: Four's Company.
  13. Cheers, sounds right up my street! Not Tarn's, mind. He's as thick as a whale omelette.
  14. Kintobor, how long do you think Quest#83 will take?
  15. Tarn smiled wistfully, "It is I who is lucky. To think that a princess in a faraway country shows such warmth for an orphan who has spent most of his life being taught in a monastery. Some might say the world has turned upside down, myself among them!" His mind turned to his previous Quest. "Nyx, you would have loved Xu, and flying in an airship over the land. Hearing tales from the villagers who live next to the most beautiful falls. And I am sure you, with your stout heart and fiery nature, would have loved pitting your strength against those of the 108 Stars. I was lucky to have had Hybros as party leader the first time, and Atramor with me the second time. Their tactical awareness and strategising is truly remarkable. Much like that Ogre in the final Dastan battle, actually. What Quests have you been on recently?"
  16. Tarn smiled at Nyx. "just remember that the Mage side of your character is now tempred by your Barbarian side, which simply wishes to smash things! Ah, Dastan. Such an amazing place. I would love to go back, I must admit. Not just to see Ella, but to see Victor and our U'Kin friends too. As for contentment, since we bested the 108 Stars of Destiny and rescued Jun, the failure weighing on me from our initial attempts to rid the pagoda of them has lessened. The failure haunted me so, Nyx, but Ella, sweet Ella knew that we would rescue him and complete our mission. She wrote to me saying so, and that helped spur me on."
  17. Tarn looked across at the Battle Mage. "You seem troubled, Nyx. Do you wish to talk about it?"
  18. Fantastic review, very detailed with clear pictures. I really like the portrayal of Lagravis in the Chima cartoon, and hs miniigure here certainly does him justice. I love your pictures of the 5 Lion tribe members too.
  19. Not sure where to put this, just trying to help, but there are a bunch of great Monster Fighters reviews from Plissken missing from that list too. 9641 The Swamp Creature http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=70031 9642 The Mummy http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=70004 9643 The Werewolf http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=70032 Hope this helps
  20. I think that's the first time Nagure's been sarcastic, keep it up!
  21. "I think we are really getting somewhere now. Those Nephilim are being caught, one by one. Heroica shall win this, we shall prevail, and I will petition to become a Veteran! I shall Cover Luridan Voros and also Encourage Swinehurst."
  22. A Ranger walks into a bar with a weregiraffe, which he leaves on the table. "You can't leave that lyin' there," says the barman. "It's not a lion, it's a weregiraffe", replies the Ranger.
  23. Tarn frowned at the Warden but spoke politely, as was his upbringing in the monastery. "I'm sorry sir, I have no idea what it was you just said."
  24. Tarn grinned. "A Lucustoid walks into a bar, and the barman asks "Why the long face?"
  25. "Why you? Because we are suspicious of all ranged warriors here. Someone keeps firing arrows at people, and we will find out who."
