You can bend the cable to any R this way. -

Thanks for sharing and all of them are very well done. Found that caterpillar belt can fit this two sets very well. So I modify your work a bit and render it here: http://www.flickr.co...pon/8384401732/ LXF: http://www.brickshel...by_penguinz.lxf http://www.flickr.co...pon/8384578279/ LXF: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/nachapon/94UCSSSD/90_70013_by_penguinz_70013a.lxf (also fix cockpit coplete close and minifig head position.)

I tried to build 4000001 with both LDD and real bricks on around August 2011. The LXF file have exactly 795 pcs, but maybe just about 97-99% correct in built/parts. I just found parts list with 794 pcs here: (Not sure the last piece is sticker or not?) http://www.brickset..../?set=4000001-1 With this part list, maybe it is possible to make a 100% correct LXF. Thanks, It took about 3 hours, visible bevels for non-trans parts, normal radiosity, two light (one shadow). -

Thanks for sharing your great model. How may RAM and virtual memory did you use? (not sure it use VM or not) My notebook ran out of 8 GB RAM (4 GB virtual memory) at max quality before complete the parsing @ 4096x 2304 noAA. LDD by ZueriHB (20,000 pcs) by Nachapon S., on Flickr -
The 24 teeth outer/ 8 teeth inner double gear with hollow shaft can make a smaller gearbox with high gear ratio. The gear ratio = 3 ^ (number of new gear + 1) For example use 4 new gears as pic below (hollow shaft simulate). gear ratio => 3^5 => 243 : 1 http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/33160 Lego new double gear 24 + 8 teeth with hollow shaft.(simulation) by Nachapon S., on Flickr

You are right, Calabar. The 2nd version will let minifig's height close to minifig with TLG "unmovable" short legs. And close to Takanuinuva's original design here http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/29452 But legs appears too short. Maybe it is because of this minfig model is base on Ldraw's minifig and seem like the orange belt is too thick. Another solution is to make Takanuinuva's short torso and short arms, too. But it will require five new moulds in total.
