It's mostly Jipay and the other Admins that decide who becomes a Mod or Admin. This depends on how long you've been around here and how much you show your love / interest for this community... For the next time we won't add any mods or Admins (I think) because we already have enough. But maybe you will qualify for becoming a mod when we reach 400 members... ;)

Those legendary 22 minutes are still unforgotten because they'll live in my signature forever... ;)

I can't say much so far, but I don't think that there will be a more complicated structure than Category / Forum / Thread But since we haven't started to plan this everything still is speculation!

Ahhhhh yes..... I really know this problem... :$ :D Anybody have seen vikings with hornets lately? :D

Okay people, as I said in the other thread, the decission is made and we will use corridor variant 2! Stay tuned for more info!

The Eurobase 2005 - Corridor Poll
ApophisV replied to ApophisV's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Okay, it's decided, we will go with corridor varaint 2! See this thread for the discussion! -Apo -
Eh.. you got us... :$ Actually we are planning a complete rearrangement of the different forums to give everything a bit more structure... Till we have the new concept and set it up please post your space, SW and whatever MOCs in the MOC forum and MOCs fitting to the themes "Castle & Pirates", "Train & Town" and "Bionicle" should go into their forums. (If you like better to post them in the MOC forum, feel free to do so.)

Sure, in this forum may be posted whatever is related to Lego Pirates or Lego Castle (and also including Vikings) Same goes for the Bionicle and Train & Town forums!

Okay, my first two entrys: Just for fun: The L.P.U. - Light Personal Unit: Gallery after moderation: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=125540 Deeplinks: Pic 1 | Pic 2 | Pic 3 Story [based on the Matrix universe]: Since the L.P.U.'s bigger brother, the A.P.U. isn't able to enter the small corridors of the lower levels and the caves of Zion, there was the need for a smaller mecha able patrouling there and - voil

Okay, a last word from me on chrome: (Yeah, I'm getting on your nerves, I know... *twisted* ) Snefroe, I'm not calling you a bad painter or whatever, I just want to say that the chrome effect CAN'T be achieved with spray painting. I'm not sure about this explanation, but I think the problem is that the surface to get the chrome effect (mirror like) must be completely plain, even microscopical (or mabye even smaller?!? Dunno about the precies values). Spray paint uses gas and pressure to spray small color particles on the surface, but because spray cans aren't very precise those particles are too large to create a really plain surface. This causes the dull look (at least compared to real chrome) of silverspray paint. (As always: Since this "explanation" just grew in my head based on my bad chemistry and whatever knowledges without of any sure clues (besides what I think to know :$ ) every other informations on this would be highly appreciated!) Here are two examples to illustrate the differences: Padme's Yacht (by Gareth): Compared to the Royal Starship: Both for sure look really great, but you see that the spray painted ship is looking more dull than the chrome one. Nonetheless I think that no normal Lego fan really needs real chrome on their MOCs, because spray paint does just fine. Just wanted to show the differences.... :$

Sorry, but I have to disagree with this: With standard silver paint brush you will never achieve the same results you get with polished chrome. Look for example at silver / gray cars: You can still see that the color of them is some gray'ish silver (sometimes covered by with clear paint brush). But then look at chrome: Chrome is like a mirror, you can't notice any shade of a color! Chrome parts and silver painted parts are something completely different!

And you wont guess what happened today: Look at the screen cap! Good old times!!!! :') (PS: @ all "new" members: Don't take this serious, all of you made this place even greater! : :) )

I'd like to bring this to the event, but there are ALL my grey and black bricks and plates included and large amounts of other parts so that I'm not really able to build any other things without of taking this baby apart... :(

Hey folks, haven't showed my latest creations since some month (mostly because I wasn't able to make good pictures of them), but I'm back and I will show you within the next days several things I made. Today I'm starting with a larger and most recent project, a BrickQuest dungeon: Starting with a quarter of the size it has now, it grew from day to day, and since yesterday it got even stairs and a second level... ;) But the most ridiculous thing I can tell about this is: I haven't played ANY game since I began building! :D Creating this thing (and I have to admit that I let myself be much inspired by Diablo ;)) was sooo much fun that I was not able to stop building and start gaming... ;) I'll post more pictures the next days, so just watch this Brickshelf folder! I'll post there my characters, some dungeon design stuff, enemys and so on! Comments appreciated!

Yes, I know, I will split the thread afterwards since we aren't talking about corridors anymore... ;)

IMO the last one or two years of the original pirates line were not very good. The sets lacked of the creativity of the 80's and early 90's sets and got relatively <insert that tiresome argument> (even if this juniorization compared to the things TLC did afterwards is harldy noticable). I especially never liked that last large ship with the crashing sail...

Sorry, we don't know yet. I (or DoubleT) will post the info as soon as we know it! I'll forward this question to DoubleT! :P I'll forward this to DoubleT too, since he is in this kind of stuff! No problem, dude, since we plan this before we are able to find the best places for every module! As far as I can already say this I think it will be a rectangular set up with a depth of two modules. Erm, I would like best not to show any pics of the modules in public before the event. But you will need to send me pictures or at least schematics of your creations for the planning. But more details about this are coming later (Hey, it's the first time that I'm planning such a thing, gimme time... ;)) Any more questions are welcome! :) Oh, and BTW, I'll close this thread tomorrow in the noon to have a valid voting result!

My guess: 1-B | 2-D | 3-A | 4-C

Ah, I see the ideas are growing in your heads! Nice! Actually I think we will plan the whole set up before the event, so 1) we are able to see that everything fits, 2) we (erm... Jipay ;)) are thinking about adding some special add-on to the set up which can only be added when we know how everything will look, 3) things like your wood transport thing are easier to plan and include! So stay tuned, more details are coming soon! :)

The Eurobase 2005 - Corridor Poll
ApophisV replied to ApophisV's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
You can bring as much 48x48 modules as you want to... ;) Oh, and BTW: If you want to create bigger modules (e.g. 48x96) no problem! Just keep the size dividable by 48! That's no problem, you can either look at the design examples for the different SG cultures I'll post later or you can invent new cultures related to any theme (space, pirates, castle, vikings, even paradisa... ;)) Yes! :P But you don't need any corridor, you also can put four paths on your baseplate! (Examples will be shown later) -
The Eurobase 2005 - Corridor Poll
ApophisV replied to ApophisV's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I think we'll go with multi colored corridors since one color special wouldn't fit well to all creations, e.g. a blue corridor connected to a wooden cabin would look just wrong... Just add as much details to your corridors as you want to ;) They just have to fit, everything else is up to you! Yeah, me too. After thinking about the EuroBase idea today a had an interesting thought: Even if it wasn't a reason for the selection of the theme for the project, it fits perfectly to the Eurobricks idea: Putting several different alien cultures (= european nations) together to get some large and cool ambassador city (= a united Europe)! -
PLEASE VOTE ONLY IF YOU WILL BRING A MODULE TO THE EVENT!!! Okay, here are the two possibilities: Corridor Variant 1 Corridor Variant 2 Here is a comparrison! Any thought about them?

The Eurobase 2005 - Eurobrick's Modular MOC System
ApophisV replied to ApophisV's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
UPDATE No. 2: The Modular System Okay, people, here we go: I worked out the system for the modules this morning: You see that we're able to use two different connection systems, you can use either a path or a corridor as connector to adjacent modules. (NOTE: There are still two corridor versions possible and I would like the people bringing modules to the Event to vote in THIS POLL which corridor version we should use!) All modules must set up on a grey 48x48 baseplates (you can also put several smaller baseplates together if you haven't a large one like I did for the example module). There are four connection points and each of them must be there (that means if you don't want to build corridor at one side you have to put a path there) An overview about the modules can be seen HERE. For more information please look at the following links: - The Brickshelf Gallery with all the schematic images and the example shots - Our Eurobase Discussion thread - The poll about the corridors - The detailed page with all instructions, examples, etc, ... (NOT YET ONLINE!!!) Note: The last link will also provide infos and examples about possible SG related styles you could use (though you can also build something that isn't SG related... ;)) More info will be provided later! :) -
Whoaw.... :oo :oo :oo So this was really build? If so: Where are all those crome bricks from? Are they all available? Or has that guy put the chrome on them himself? My mom wanted to put silver chrome on a lamp system including several small pipes and the spotlights, I'd say it would have been as much chrome as we see at that MOC, and they told her it would cost at least 3000 Euro!
