Lovely MOCs! While I totally adore modern MOCs with all the intricate details and such seeing these awesome builds here using onlya limited range of parts (limited to classic parts AND the set inventory!) feels like pure magic! Especially the animal shaped crafts, wow! Very creative! Bravo! (Makes me want to build something similar - maybe I should take some old sets with me on our family vacation trip next week )

I only had a rough look at the last few pages, so excuse me if someone already posted this, but this is the product that was a game changer for me: Kistenberg Norp 16 Organizer cases. They are the cheap variant of the Stanley Fatmax system. Both come as as a suitcase with transparent lid and a system of fitting bins that can be arranged freely. Normal organizer cases are quite common, but they are not flexible and taking out larger quantities from one compartment without of emptying the whole case or dropping parts in the wrong compartmentis pretty shitty. But with the Norp (or Fatmax) system this is really easy because you only remove the one bin you need and then empty only this one out. AND you are able to rearrange the bins in case your collection grows or whatever. Only let down with the Norp system is that it only comes in a smaller variant while Fatmax has also a bigger case that also fits cockpits, support pieces, etc. But then again it is a really cheap system, here in Germany you get 10 cases for roundabout 50€ from Amazon. I have like 50 of those cases currently, but I guess I will restock them soon with the collection growing. Btw, I removed the lids for easier access and stack them, sorted roughly by part types (modified plates, round bricks, etc). One thing I plan to do in the future is to build some sort of drawer shelf where the cases fit inside.

Reading your experiences I am quite worried (and happy at the same time) about my own collection right now. One or two years ago I rebuild my sets from the old waves and had only a few and especially only minor (easily replacable) parts breaking, all figs still in good shape. The sets were on display for a few years back when they were still available, I wonder if building them directly after purchasing had some sort of positive effects on them (maybe widen them slightly or something). I am sorry for what happened to your minifigs, that is a really sad story... :( If I were in your situation I would probably get some copies of the figures (there are plenty sources available if you know where to look or whom () to ask) to display with the set and keep the originals unbuild somewhere save... One of my biggest regrets is not buying the Lonely Mountain back when it was so ridiculously cheap compared to todays scalper prices. I rebrick my holy grail slowly whenever I am ordering something from BL or have leftover from mixed lots, and for now I have bought counterfeit minifigures and Smaug as placeholders until I can get my hands on the real ones. Not ideal, but still not as sad as not having them at all I guess...

Hello my friends! Have been away for some time, being totally annoyed by social media I guess a little trip back to the old forum ways could be quite healing - so here I am, back again! (well, for the third or fourth time since the 2000s, but this time I stay! Pinky promise!) So, any old faces? New friends? Looking forward to get to know you and see what you guys are creating! Maybe for those that don't know me (anymore): I am Daniel, way back I was called Apo (Weird writing this, being grown up and all...), was among the very first guys hanging and admining around here back in the old days. Had some really great time here, made awesome friends, but grew up at some point and (sadly!) lost track of the community... ( <- Side note: The first batch of these smilies were made by me back then - oh the nostalgia ) Now I am married, got a lovely son, and started collecting bricks and stuff already a few years ago again. More of a collector than a MOC builder nowaways (wish it were the other way round, but time is rare if you are a grown up with a job, a wife, kid, house, chicken and whatnot). Oh, and beware, if I ever start posting some stuff here you might see content not suitable for the purist! So. To be honest, I didn't even look whats going on here before starting this thread - will browse through the topics and have a look at what you guys are doing! Promise! Well, thanks for having me! Looking forward to having a great time with you guys and gals! (Super fast edit: I guess I should update my avatar... Merry christmas! )

I guess since we have seen the official replica of his costume in the "Adventure in Time and Space" movie, it will probably based on this costume's colors. But R2 used newly introduced parts (legs and torso) back then, so it technically was a "special mini figure mold"... Then again, we didn't even get a Slimer with the Ecto-1, so wko knows what TLC will do this time....

Here is the official accouncement on the BBC site: LEGO Doctor Who to materialise later in 2015 I'd love a 9 since he is by far my favourite (and my 1st Doctor) But as I cosplayed 1 a few times I hope we will get a version of him too (Considering it's most likely his face we see in the announcement chances aren't htat bad IMO)

I don't know if I signed up, but in that case I have to sign off again. I am completley uncertain about my schedules this spring... If I have some spare time on my hands then I will try to come over for a day or two and sleep at my dad's home then. But that'll happen kinda sontanously then! -
Thanks for the warm welcome-back! :-) If my decision to come over is coming too late next year for a place in the hotel, I guess I still could get a bed at my dads home or at my grand parents, both life close to Günzburg! :-)

*checking in again after a long time* Hey, how much time have I to decide to come or not to come? I haven't got any schedules for next year's studies, so I can't really plan anything (next summer I'll start my main courses in Maastricht, NL and I haven't got any infos about specific dates there yet). But if I get the time I think I will give that LEGO community meeting thing (:-P) a try! ;-) Best wishes from Germany, Daniel aka Apo

YOU don't use a Mac??? That is pretty much the last thing I ever expected! -
Not really "villains", but definitively bad guys: Sentinels! :-D
-
You should see the whole comic strip, it's even funnier! ;-)
-
Thanks alot, you really made my day with these, especially the last one is so funny. Gotta read that comic again, soon :-D

Ahhh, interesting thread! :-D I can't mention a particular favourite hero since there are several guys I really like. First of all, Tony Stark. Since Civil War I am not that sure about him anymore, he is behaving kinda strange, but overall I really like that guy (I loved him in the Extremis story line illustrated by Adi Garnov *wub* ) Next, Wolverine, a true classic. Anyway, depending on the author there are some storylines I like him more than at others... And then I developed some interest in Deadpool, he is a freak, but a funny one. :-D I have to get more stuff featuring him, so far I only have read his CW related comics... Well, I could also name some other cool heros in the MU, which are among my general favourites: Spidey, the Young Avengers as a team and Miss Marvel because of her costume ;-) *wub*

Put them behind glas (I only have a regular shelf *sad* ) or buy yourself a large, soft brush. I got one myself and for the most models it works great. I bought it from an art store and it was around 4 or 5 Euro, but it is worth the money. The hair is very soft so it doesn't skratch the plastic or damages stickers and it is flexible enough to reach also smaller gaps of the models. Furthermore it is wide enough (like 2 or 3 cm) to make the cleaning of larger surfaces easy. I really can recommand it! :-) -
Hmmmmm, steampunk *wub* This baby looks superb, gives me the desperate feeling that I should unpack my bricks right now and start building again. Really, I love it! *y* Oh, and you made me visiting FBTB again after more than a year! ;-)
