  1. Yep, roughly 1 police officer per 12 civi's and 1 firefighter for every 35... 1 Batman and 1 Spiderman watching everyone. Good team of Res-Q and paramedics as well. Compared to my actual home town, of around 50,000, has 1 cop per 278. I'd say my minifigs are safe, unless I go crazy
  2. I don't know of any, but is your online shop not offering "Free Shipping on orders over 75", for March 1-15?
  3. I think the idea is pretty straight forward. The gas station itself must be contained within a 32x32 stud perimeter (or 2x 16x32, 4x 16x16, etc = 32x32). I don't see why it couldn't be photographed with surrounding scenes/roads, but I'm pretty sure the entry photos of the gas station, alone on 32x32, should be the main focus for final voting. This one you may have to rebuild or modify later for your stop motion filming
  4. Something, something, something, LEGO... Something, something, something, complete
  5. I'm quite interested in knowing more about this as well with similar questions you've answered. What would be recommended if there aren't any LUGs locally, or in my state (West Virginia) for that matter? I know there are many in Ohio, which isn't too far from me
  6. Even in LEGO bricks, that thing is creepy! You did an excellent job building it, really capturing it's look. Great job Xenomorph
  7. Very cool crane drdesignz, it's huge! I like the look of the four independent crawlers, like a new twist on the Crawler-Transporter. Great job
  8. I wouldn't say to tough, you could drop the Dodge brand altogether and make it a single RAM dealer. While looking through the new RAM trucks on their site I signed up to try and win a 2014 ProMaster RAM Van... Could really use one at our business. Hope I get some votes to help better my chances. I probably wouldn't have checked out their site without you choosing their truck!
  9. Very nice work jonwill! I always love a good Octan gas station. Especially when there is attention paid to products sold inside. TLG always seemed to skimp on that feature like fuel is all cars need. Too bad they don't make wide garage door panels. It'll be tough to change a tire. Really great job
  10. Nice classic town layout Ape Fight! Having had my own layout from around then, I can really appreciate these sets. Do you still buy 2nd hand from this era?
  11. A big way indeed! A lot of great sets in a nice spread. I hope you have plans for many more sets. Will this be a temporary layout, or one you can leave out permanently?
  12. For images of current released model RAM trucks, google RAM Trucks. I know you're in the early build phase, but I thought I'd point out your Dodge dealer ship will need RAM stickers since it is no longer a Dodge Ram, but it's own manufacture under parent Chrysler LLC since 2009. Since it isn't a private owned used car lot I was hoping to see a truck too Can't wait to see what you come up with lt!
  13. Nice work here DarthNick! I like the designs of the buildings and and smaller size vehicles. Haven't seen a compact bus like that
  14. When compared, I'd take the one from 8404 any day. This one is more like a personal/private use tractor based on it's small size. While it wasn't the original sweeper I thought we were getting, I kind of like it. I have an almost identical one built in yellow from a couple years ago when I started building road paving equipment. I'll probably use the green brush off this to build one like in this photo, if it isn't already to be in a set, or just put the original model with my farming sets
  15. Hi baron, Here is a little quick info in regards to general purpose ABS. I'm almost completely sure LEGO elements fall here: ABS Quick Facts: Excellent resistance (no attack) to Glycerine, Inorganic Salts, Alkalis, Many Acids, Most Alcohols and Hydrocarbons Limited resistance (moderate attack and suitable for short term use only) to Weak Acids Poor resistance (not recommended for use with) Strong Acids and Solvents, Ketones, Aldehydes, Esters, and some Chlorinated Hydrocarbons Maximum Temperature: 176°F 80°C Minimum Temperature: -4°F -20°C Autoclavable: No Melting Point: 221°F 105°C Tensile Strength: 4,300 psi Hardness: R110 UV Resistance: Poor Translucent Rigid Specific Gravity: 1.04 So, I think your attic is so-so (don't want to say ok, and be wrong), if you see frost. I would personally put them somewhere a little warmer. You can always get creative, sticking bags of individual MOCs or sets under or on top of furniture, while keeping them out of site. At least until it warms a bit. My entire collection has experienced and average of 45º-100ºF every year for 14 years solid; no natural light. Never any problems with clutch or stickers peeling on the sets I've owned from childhood For those looking for info about storage in hotter places, TLG recommends this: Can't get much more clarification than by the manufacturer
  16. If you want to get eventually get all four, start with the FB, then GE, PS, TH, finally PC. That should be the order they'll be discontinued. If you are not concerned about collecting all, I'd go for the either FB, TH, or PC. Those three appeal to me the most... a very tough choice though. The TH is has some looks great inside and out and it's has an elevator! The FB, also great inside and out, plus it has a very nice antique fire truck. The PC, while really flashy on the exterior, is not quite as appealing to me. It's still a big theater and I am very fond of it's interior, compared to the GE, and PS. The classic car is also very nice, but could use a little work, maybe so new wheels and tires
  17. 175 meters of track?! This will be huge, I can't wait to see this being built, especially how you'll handle the power distribution
  18. Excellent MOC Captain K. Very detailed indeed. You do a very good job at building these service vehicles
  19. You have some really valid points paul. This type of crane is becoming very repetitive. I had to do a double take looking at it because I thought it was the on from the 7633 Construction Site... A $20 some dollar option I could do without. As for the bike shop, I agree fully that it is two, as well. The two folding signs, fire hydrants, and second pizza shop right behind the first one. It does make picking a second set for another bus and bigger bike shop though
  20. Neat work here melbs. I can't believe how big the TH is compared. Since you shortened the TRU trailer, maybe you should drop one of it's axels like on a 28ft high cube trailer. Keep up the good work
  21. To bad about the old Fire station, but this place is huge! Looking forward to see it's progression
  22. Cool monster trucks Mifody! How does the driver get in the Crawler? It looks like he'd need to climb on Big Foot first I like the mods to 6867, the Crawler really stands out
  23. So the fire never really get put out? Great review Plate! While this isn't one of my favorite new sets, mainly because the sizeof the burning house, I still would like to get one for the minifigs
