  1. Here are some shots of one of my newer trains along with its twin and their predecessors. comments would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=458607&n=0
  2. I have the first pics of my Batmobile and Tumbler uploaded now, as well as, the rest of my collection. Comments would be much appreciated. Enjoy! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=458607&n=47
  3. Purchased x6, 3661 Bank and Money Transfers. I plan on using two of them and will let the other four sit. I see these as being highly desirable after they are discontinued. Who knows when the next bank will come out. Seems like once every decade... Now I play the waiting game
  4. More proof you can't trust anything that has the prefix of mega, super, etc or anything from China or Korea... Except for 07'+ Hyundai's
  5. Awesome speak-easy you built, TinyPiesRUs or is it post prohibition? Did I see a corrupt cop in there?! Really love the car and the expressions on the faces of the "freaked out" patrons really brings it to life. Keep up the great work
  6. "Emmy" awards are the Academy awards for t.v. "Emmy" was chosen as a feminization of "immy", a nickname used for the image orthicon tubes that were common in early television cameras. Which is why they use a statuette holding an atom. Neat vig you built a53021 Alternative idea: add another minifig to stand in as that a**, Kanye West, and change her head to the "freaked out look" and you have the Taylor/ Kanye incident
  7. Can't wait to see them! Are you going to keep the original bogies no the rest of the train, or replace with the 9v style bogies?
  8. Great layout you built there, gambort
  9. I got lucky today, placed a bid on 7288 Mobile Police Truck for $28.00 + $13 ship. For a $44.99 retail + TLG ship. price, I'd say it's a pretty good deal... I also purchased 7045 Hovercraft Hideout for only $5 over retail. Was pleasantly suprised
  10. Yea the price is way to high and yes, this boat floats!
  11. Great review lightningtiger I kinda like this boat, however, I hate the price. It looks nice but, for $39.99 you get the 172 pcs + those few extras we always get. But in 2006, 7899 Police Boat cost $24.99, according to Brickset, and had 199+ pcs + motor. I was lucky to get one for $25 on eBay a couple months ago . Whats the deal with the price difference for same size boat with almost same number of pcs. Another thing that throws me off is TLG has changed the color scheme and my Police force is black and white. They also could have designed the cell a little better kinda plain, I know he's a prisoner and should be uncomfortable. I like the jetski though. I always try to get more of those.
  12. Ok, I think brickshelf made my folder, Cityslicker, public! Hope you guys enjoy!
  13. I like a variety of music. Mostly rock or metal. i.e. SoaD, 94-05 KoRn, Drowning Pool with their original vocalist, Nirvana, etc. 60's and 70's, gotta love classic rock Jimi, The Doors. A little punk rock, RAtM. Rap, only for the bass. I also invested in my cars stereos, besides most of the lyrics are just a bunch of ignorant bs.I also like classics like Beethoven, Motzart and string tributes to my favorite bands.
  14. The Compulsive Buyer Invest in Lego, forget stocks. * Buying habits: Like a pawn shop; gotta get it for the right price. Not afraid to over spend a bit over retail for retired sets, but still on a budget. * Sorting Method: Small and specialty pieces are kept together, wrapped up in a towel. Keep forgetting to get a small plastic container... Others are in a small, red, coin safe. * Building Space: The floor of my room, right in front of my Lego room (refinished closet). * Philosophy: Minifigs are people too! seriously though, if I want it, I will get it... eventually.
  15. Great job on this cruise ship 'reload' as well as the jet plane! Do you design/build these by yourself? Keep it up!
  16. Picked up another 7848 Toys R' Us Truck off eBay for $39 and another 9v train motor for $28
  17. Another great MOC there AussieJimbo Makes me want to get the new train station that much more! Do you have photos of your city on EB or brickshelf, etc? Keep up the great work!
  18. Awesome MOC. Looks like a DEERE I really like how you built the ,business end'. Keep up the great work!
  19. Great review cralegoboy! I liked this set, unfortunately I was unable to get it before they stopped selling it in the U.S. I don't know why TLG sold it for such a short time. I guess it was that popular? I gave this set an average rating. I think it could have been a little cheaper and having a vehicle would have made it better. It could have been a bit bigger too. On that note, I probably would have ended up buying a few more of this set over a the year to create a series of town houses or apt. complex. I may have to keep an open eye (and bank account ) on eBay. Only for the right price though. Happens all the time; some auctioned retires sets end up selling barely over retail
  20. Quote - "But Legos are not action figures. They’re allergic to action. Enthusiastic looking makes Lego sets fall apart. If you think about them from a distance, they start to shed pieces. And if you play with them — if you swing the spaceships around the room like … like spaceships — just forget about it. They’ll fall apart in ways that defy explanation." - End quote. sad really.. Someone should introduce this lady to MegaB****s... or better yet, that Enlight*****t crap. Then talk about allergies to action. I personally have watched a MB set fall apart under its own weight. Not even joking; across the room. And Lego, not "legos", have extremely well interlocking grip. As a kid, I'd play with my Lego cars, trucks boats, and planes. They would experience G force (spinning in place ), shock from impact, and constant soakings from pools, bathes, even showers ( covering the drain w/ wash cloth of coarse). Needless to say, they made... and look just as they did over a decade later. Six seems a bit young for larger sets, unless he/she is a genius of sorts. Lego should not be that difficult to figure out. If child likes Lego sets but,is rough w/ toys, start w/ Duplo... That's my fact oriented opinion:classic:
  21. Sweet Studio MOC! Fine attention to detail and Bryknii... ha! Now all we need is a MOC of Capital Records! Keep up the great work!
  22. Last month I spent my birthday with my gf, friends and my old buddy Jack Daniels. No appropriate pics to post though As for a few gifts I picked for myself; I was EXTREMELY lucky to privately contact a gentleman selling his and his son's entire Lego collection on eBay a month before my Bday. It was quite a city setup too, but didn't sell, too much $$$$. I contacted him through eBay, then through my email. As for the luck I ran into? I purchased his Cafe Corner for $149, Market St. for $90, and Town Plan for $160. As well as a handful of smaller vehicles that had been discontinued. I could not believe he sold those for their original price. I thought about flipping them back on eBay because I don't have room for modules in my city (right now). I decided not to be a money greedy d**k and invested in a bunch of plastic storage bins until I can expand. That was my 2010 Bday!
  23. Another great MOC from bastings! I don't know which one I like better, the stadium or the airport Keep showing these awesome creations!
  24. Great cargo car MOC CCOOK Really nice work on the "metal" panels for the walls Keep up the great work!
