  1. Won my second 7249 XXL Crane - $42 and 2 more MISB 7942 Off-Road Fire Rescue for $9 EDIT: Finally secured an order of 2 Maersks! Also ordered 7213 Off Road Fire Truck and Boat and 7936 RR Crossing.
  2. Awesome modular MOC 'L@go' What a great idea for the interior, great details. Love the exterior as well. A truly wonderful MOC
  3. Thats what I meant, I started seeing that on 'KielDaMan's profile, Now I see them all over.
  4. Went looking on how you all where altering your post formats and found this.. BB code, "Member: 'Leg Godt Gud'>runs this site"? Zoinks! Like, I do think there is something goin on here! That upside down is still funny. That or the best news I had all year!
  5. Awesome transport car, 'fs' Great work on the rollback bed. All around a great design
  6. Off to another great start 'frogstudio' Is this shunter built off the design of a real one or is it your own design?
  7. I'm 9V all the way. I wasn't around for the 12V or 4.5V, though I do like some of the sets. I don't see myself getting any though. Not a fan of PF though. That system screwed us 9ers.
  8. Another great MOC 'A.Smith'. 'Lt' might be right, it could use a little tweaking on the bed. Is that from the Toy Story theme? This one might fit a little better. Either way neat truck! Keep up the great work
  9. Hilarious Is there actually an issue, I thought it might just be MODs goofing around?
  10. Great shots of Windsor 'Dazmundo'. hope to see some more
  11. Great H. Unit 'frogstudio' Love the design of the truck and kudos on the robot. Really nice job on that. How does it roll? Keep up the great work
  12. Greetings all, I suppose I too have a train story. I grew up in the 90's and started collecting Lego city/ train sets, nothing else. I only collected Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and Lego. For my 13 birthday/ Christmas (2 weeks later), my parents bought me 4569 Cargo Railway, 4555 Freight Depot, 4552 Cargo Crane, and 2150. I set it up in my 'Lego Room' with my small collection of city sets. I collected steadily until I was a sophomore in HS. I picked up the large green MOT w tender and all cars except the hooper and tanker. I was lucky enough to get one of the limited SF Super Chiefs. Around 2004 I stopped, cold turkey. My last set was a gift from my youngest brother for Christmas. Set 7994 Fire Hovercraft. About five in a half years later, I was back in the world of Lego. I came back a little late and had to start getting sets from eBay. I started off with the E. Night, BNSF and TTX sets. Then I went back to extending my other trains. The 'Hornet', Metro, and MOT all doubled in length. Unfortunately, I don't have any room on the track to run them, until I can get a bigger room. Every so often I buy a retired train set or a bulk of straight track (if the price is right) off the Bay. Now I have a s**t ton. 92 sets and growing with only 4 PF. I stay full throttle on trains!
  13. I'd try going with LEDs or buying a working one from Bricklink. Best of luck
  14. They have it.. We want it. Been like that since the beginning. I see a guys collection of near mint late 60's early 70's collection at least once a month. Bid price starts low but, you better check the shipping before bidding When I sell sets, I start low and let those who want it bid what they're willing to pay. No reserve, no $300 starting bid.
  15. Yeah definitely the old ones. Solid dark bley is only good for 'downtown' streets. I was lucky, I grew up in the 90's and was big on the sets from 1995-98. Possibly the best years of 9v, so my parents bought me re-release of the Metro and the "Hornet" as well as other RR sets (stations, rail crane, etc) Still looking for a good deal on 4565 Freight Railway. Won a second metro w/ club car for $200 and another "Hornet" for $112 back in Dec-Jan. I just keep missing this set when it goes for cheap... A store in Oslo, that sells old sets and exclusives together with new sets, has 10190 Market Street, in MISB, for sale. The price is a whopping 6000 NOK, or roughly 1150 USD. They also have a MISB 10182 Café Corner, for a lower price, for some reason. That is definitely top dollar. I to am perplexed as to why Market St. has been selling higher than Cafe Corner. Size not matter? Or was Market St discontinued first? I wasn't buying Lego at that time.
  16. Same here. Its too... red, for my city. That and I'm 9V. I have the new Cargo Train but, only because I like the rolling stock. I have no want to get into PF. Besides TLC hasn't put out a really appealing passenger train since the 90's, maybe that bullet train in the early 00's.
  17. See I, personally, couldn't do that. I gotta build the model. I reseal the boxes to look new but, I won't pay $150 for a set to never open. I do keep MISB to resell later on, only if they are a duplicate. Those proceeds usually fund this expensive habit
  18. Not at all 'Siegfried'. I say "unfortunately" because I learned I love riding a motorcycle. Nothing like having BIG hp and little weight, or a blue chick magnet. That and it GSXRs are't common here in Charleston especially a custom painted one. I am happy that I made most of my money back. That bike had a troubled past, the previous owner flat out lied to me about its condition. To say the least it was not up to par. A bit of love (money) and she got right. Rode her for the past 3 year.s I will miss that old thing. Thanks, its about time I get back mountain biking, didn't do much of it last year. I hope to get back in on a bigger bike in the next couple years, I wanted to at least get my license before selling the bike. So check and check. So I will definitely be going to a dealer as apposed to a private owner. Would have originally but, no way of getting a license unless you already have a bike. I do like the monster ZZR1400 but, you're right, very expensive, maybe too much bike, even a Busa might be to big. Haven't been able to sit on one. Our local shops hardly ever carry anything bigger than a 750 BTW out of curiosity what is with all the upside down member names? Noticed a bunch since yesterday
  19. Welcome to EB 'Pilotdude'. I believe you can edit your profile after you have 10 posts. Here you'll find all the info about rankings. See you 'around town' EDIT: Ah beat me too it 'TYB'
  20. I'm right there too, cannot leave them in the box. Though some also like having the boxes, I'm one but, They are going to be opened and sets built.
  21. Christmas 2010 bought Market St. for $90 and Cafe Corner for $150 from a guy that tried to sell entire city at once on eBay. No haggle. PMed him and ended buying a big bulk of his sets at around RRP. Very happy. Had just bought the GG a couple months before thinking about reselling that when it was discontinued... Now I am into modulars!
  22. Almost, to be honest I can only assume it's candy. This is how the bike looked when I bought it.
  23. That right there is what I don't fully understand. I guess it's just my personal preference but, if I am going to spend a lot on a single retired set, I definitely would build it. It would serve me no other purpose. I'd probably never make any money on resale if it was kept in a box. I do buy retired sets but, only if they are not to high over their retail. I am big on the classic town sets produced when I was young and a bunch from the 80's. Even smaller sets can go big. Not classic but, the newer ambulance and the postal van get pricey on eBay. Buying Lego = buying stock?
  24. Thanks, thats what it was. I remembered seeing that topic ("blue" part in my post above). I just gave up on it when trying to download the program to make BB compatible on MAC OS... Did not work out 'xd': For up hill track, raising the track by 1/3 brick per single straight piece I believe is the standard. Just remember the longer the train the worse it will do. Traction or magnets separating are the main issues. Better magnets can be purchased and adding a motor toward the back of the train will help. Figure 8 style bridge is possible with enough track and bricks for supports. I'm pretty sure the old grey/blue rails can be attached to 9v/PF track. Not a hundred percent. Check out 'Lego Train 12volts' layout. He has a nice LARGE blend of tracks
  25. Great review 'JB' Kinda makes me want to get this set. Glad these are just coming out
