  1. I know what you mean about available colors. It's definitely working for you, and man did you get to work on this with the quickness!
  2. Thanks again, 'Flb' If you think I, love fire, you should see the Police force Oh yeah, I consider sets from late 97'- 04'? to be TLG "dark age". Not a whole lot of awesome came to the city during that time Talk about "big (and little) ugly chassis pieces) At least 'Town Jr.' gave us a bank, a s****y one but, one no less Town Jr > World City = my dark age
  3. Off to a great start, 'Lt' Great company and tire too, I have four myself Can't wait to see more progress!
  4. Awesome work on this "paint job" 'followsclosely' I have to agree, it does look great in blue. I like how you added an extra floor and added some furniture. I need to do the same. Keep up the great work
  5. Thanks 'Fuzzylegobricks', I too, love the jeep-like trucks of the 4-wide. I honestly I could ball park it at 10-15 in all varieties. Like the small car a bunch are color variations of the same/ similar model
  6. Set: 6533 Police 4 x 4 Year: 1992 - (1995?) Pieces: 62 Minifig(s): 1 Price: $4.75 (Brickset.com) Won: $2 (eBay) Theme/ Subtheme: Town/ Police This was a neat little set I always wanted but, was never able to get. I was about 5 when it was released and did not know its existence until about 1997 when I was actually collecting Lego. I won this in a pair with another classic set 6525 Blaze Commander. T I did not receive the box with this set but, it was complete with instructions. So, no big loss on that. I suppose these few pieces on the cross way could be the "specialty pieces". The office included with this set is still an original torso print from the 80's, TLC had switched to the fat tires or today. Here is the piece layout and instructions. Starting the build with wheels, chassis, and fenders. Now for the rest of the lower body: Finally the upper body and accessories. I wasn't totally satisfied with the final product. It's the more modern 4-wide but, has all the older 80's printed bricks/fig. So I modded it a bit. Here's what stayed original: Here is what went in: bull gaurd, side steps, new "suspension" and wider axles, trailer hitch, seat, hood scoop, updated 'Police' tile, etc, and a U.S. Marshal. The final product: A view of it next to it's forerunner from the 80's: All in all, it was a very simple but, still fun build. A real neat set with a good looking pick-up. I would not pay retail for one though. Unless you are a diehard classic town buff, that price is just a little to steep for the parts and minifig. Thats not to say there are good deals out there. Thanks for reading
  7. Set: 6525 Blaze Commander Year: 1995 - (1997?) Pieces: 50 Minifig(s): 1 Price: $4.50 (Brickset.com) Won: $2 (eBay) Theme/ Subtheme: Town/ Fire Hello EBer's, This is my first review. I decided on something easy. I am a BIG classic Town fan and recently won this set from eBay a few weeks ago. I just got around to cleaning and assembling it. I have another but, it isn't complete nor has the instructions. This came with 6533 Police 4 x 4, which is what I really wanted, as well as the instructions. I plan on a review for that, if this goes over well. I hope you enjoy taking a step back to the classics! Start with the piece layout... A whopping fifty pieces! Those on the cross walk are the specialty but, wait no ax? or hammer? The fire man has the smiley face with the large handle bar mustache, I may put that head on one of the minifigs from the Fire Brigade. He looks a bit out dated. Now with the build. The wheels, chassis, and body, enough explained. Next are the doors, windshield, and other accessories. Almost done.. Ready for duty! Pulling into the station, no fires today Final thoughts: Its's a neat set to have but, only good for another fireman and adding another vehicle to your town. It's playability is average, and with no axe, I think this "Commander" may need a refresher coarse. The retail value was a about right but, seems high to me. I'm glad I found it on eBay, though. I am pleased to have another one of these. At least this one was 100% complete. Thanks for reading! Suggestions and comments welcomed on this presentaion
  8. Touche "Mr. Salesman", I looked them up on wiki before posting but, should have taken a look at the Lego itself. I was going on memory (apparently bad) as I had retired mine to the attic last year. Whoops Thank you for correcting me.
  9. This is very interesting 'Tearloch33' Good to know. How does this compare to 4-wide or 6-wide vehicles and the conversion to these engines height?
  10. You are correct, it is all about having fun The only Batman sets models are 'Artifex's' Batmobile and Tumbler Haven't seen "Big Bang Theory" but I'm pretty sure I can find the episode you're referring to. I'm afraid this is all the "snow" I have in my collection I always wanted the Holiday themed sets for seasonal display but, city sets comes first in the budget. Thanks for the input 'Buckshot' and 'Deeks'
  11. Great rearrange 'Lt' Looks great for a tire center or something similar. Keep us posted
  12. Great train station Bojan Pavsic I really like the train loading bay and really great job on the roof. I'm sure this caught a lot of looks at the show. Great work
  13. Greetings, I have searched and searched EB for info and topics regarding the town subtheme, 'Arctic' sets. I only found a bit of info on the "mystery Arctic sets 6576 (Pull Sled) and 6570 Snowmobile" and a review of 6626 poly-bag, Snow Scooter. Then I ran out of relevant topics. My brother and I collected these sets and this is now my Arctic Collection. Only missing 1. I understand this theme did not fair well among buyers as it lasted a few years with no new sets. I would like to know other members' opinions on this subtheme or particular set(s). I recently found all of these intact after 9+ years and am considering two options. Try and sell them (not doing well on eBay) or more likely, due to that reason, building a separate table at a distance from my city layout. Call it Legarctica or something more creative ... Anyway, what would you do? I'm in a cross road with these. It's pretty much 99% of an entire theme AND can be incorporated associated with my city but, did not do well in sales or resale. They also, may be odd to have in the same room as the city or worth selling with low ball prices and the fact I still like them.
  14. I'll do a search of my extra pieces today and PM you. Acquired a large bin of mainly Star Wars parts a while back
  15. Hope your Birthday was awesome! Neat cake posted 'KimT'
  16. I have to agree with some of the statements above. It could possibly be physchosomatic: MegaB*****s > I've never heard of someone getting physically sick from an allergy from touching something like plastic. I'd figure a rash or itching if it was the material in the blocks. As for bacteria on the blocks, definite possibility. Give them a wash or pitch them. I recommend getting rid of them. I donate all off-brands (and unrestoreable Lego) to Goodwill as I am for recycling and reuse.
  17. Everybody has there own way of getting back in their groove. Great ideas so far. As for me, I never have anything planned as far as a design for a build just a thought of what I'm going to build (i.e. vehicle, building, etc). I get my piece bins and start building a generic design. After a few mins or what it takes, I start to see where I want to go with the MOC. Details, switching parts for better look, or back tracking to allow the application of a more recent idea. Good luck
  18. What makes that Boba Fett so valuable. Last year I sold off his son with the yellow printed black head. It fetched a pretty penny but, had no clue as to why until I looked at the set. I do not collect LSW but, am curious about this fig.
  19. Neat little shed here. I have to agree with 'Lt' on either sliding doors or some brown swing doors to give it that rustic look to go with that great looking tin roof. Keep up the good work
  20. A beautiful Hospital! The exterior design is rich in detail. The interior looks great. A perfect addition to finish this wonderful MOC. Great work
  21. I'd buy them as well. if not the pieces, put them in storage for a while. After stocks start running out on ebay and similar sights , I believe prices will go up on these. They are, as stated above, BIG stets and do have a lot of vehicles = playability. Besides that getting these for over half off is rediculous
  22. Looking great so far, 'Antonio' nice touch on the skiing manikin. I got another idea for you: Since you said "this was the first floor",assuming there is to be a second, you should pit in a rock climbing wall. Even if you don't have a put in a second floor, a "glass" enclosed climbing wall would give your store that sport "mega store" look. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see the finished product
  23. Great Renault MOC Very classy, and such an elegant color. Very good work here
  24. Sitting here thinking about the "minifig scale" it hit me that I (I'm sure most of us) can recognize what one can recognize this scale. Its when it come to explaining it gets difficult, at least for me. There are to many variables in this but, some how it all can come together in a nice blend (if you know how to pull it off). An example 4 wide with 6 wide; trains; open-back and modulars. They all seem to have their own scale that looks relatively accurate to the minifigs. Some more than others of coarse. I suppose this is what I view as the "minifig scale"
  25. Great Apt. MOC 'FC' Great colors and details. Very elegant, keep up the great work
