  1. Haven't read your review yet, only taken a look at the photos of the finished model. I don't want to spoil the build for myself, but I assume the review is very good though Finally got to place an order, have waited for this set to show up at Swedish retailers, the other two sets have but not this one for some reason. Decided to place an order on amazon.de instead. It's listed at 105 €, but somehow I ended up paying 110. Still a good deal though. Cant wait for it to arrive...
  2. It usually takes quite some time before TLG makes recently released parts available on Bricks&Pieces. I remember that the parts introduced with the Arocs weren't available until almost a year later. The good thing is that once they are available they can be quite cheap compared to on BL, so it's probably worth the wait.
  3. Nice review as always Sariel! I'm not impressed by this set. I think the functions are too simple. It's similar to 42064 in my opinion, more like a City set. I agree with @Jeroen Ottens, that setup with a 24t gear usually doesn't work. The teeth usually touch the edge of the lower pin hole on the connector. The 24t gear was slightly redesigned about a year ago, I might not have tested it since then... The new one probably has a slightly smaller diameter.
  4. Of course! I even have those... Thank you very much, didn't think of that.
  5. @Jim I have also been curious about the setup behind your fantastic photos. I've seen the topic you linked to before, and I think your backdrop on the picture looks quite small. Are you using that exact setup when taking photos of larger models like 42070 as well?
  6. When I saw the first pictures of the 2H sets, I thought they were three of the worst looking sets ever released. 42069 was the worst looking in my opinion, but that has totally changed now. The set has went from being my least favorite, to being my favorite when it comes to both looks and functionality. The color scheme seems a bit odd, but it actually looks pretty good.
  7. I also prefer when bags are unnumbered. I like to have a big pile with parts in front of me, that's how building with Lego has always been. I'm glad the BWE had numbered bags though, 4000 parts on the table is a bit too much...
  8. @ColletArrow I'm working on a very small crane model. Literally the smallest scale you can achieve with Lego, and I wanted to use the bar for the crane boom so the color does matter. Even though the final model is going on my own shelf I want it to be Lego parts only. I'll hopefully figure something out. I didn't realize how rare this color was and thought someone could easily take a picture of it. Thank you for your help!
  9. Thank you for your answers! There are indeed many more parts available regular orange (I mean the color which is just called Orange) but the part I would like to use is Bar 4L 30374 which only seems to be available in Earth Orange and Dark orange. I really need to use some sort of bar piece in orange, preferably 3L or 4L but none of those are available in orange. Earth orange might not be the best alternative because of the rarity though.
  10. Hi! I'm not that familiar with other forums than Technic on Eurobricks, so I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this. I'm working on a small system model in Stud.io. I'm mostly into Technic and own barely any recent system parts at all, which is the reason I'm building virtually. There are certain details I want to build with orange parts, but all parts I want to use are not available in a single shade of orange. Some are available in regular orange, and some in Earth Orange. I don't own any Earth Orange parts, but in the computer it looks very similar to regular orange. To help me decide if Earth Orange is usable for this project I wonder if someone could share a picture with parts of both orange shades next to each other. Thank you in advance, /HallBricks
  11. I really like the usage of linkages to achieve certain functions in Lego models, but I can't understand why it's used in 42068. Seems like more parts are used than necessary. My first thought that using gear racks and a long axle might cause backlash because of axle torsion, but there's quite much, if not more, backlash when using the frictionless pins like in 42068. Using gear racks and long axles has also worked flawlessly before in 42009 for example. Strange solution for this set.
  12. Great review with fantastic pictures as always! Those pictures make any model look beautiful I'm not really fond of this set. I can't justify the high price, and I prefer more complex sets with more parts, like the Arocs or BWE. I also don't like the fact that it is remote controlled, but you still have to manually control the switches on the truck itself which I think weakens the point of making it RC. I'm looking forward to read the other reviews as well!
  13. The competition mentioned on that page seems to be over already. I hope that competition wasn't what Jim was referring to.
  14. I usually buy from both BL and Customer service/Bricks&Pieces. When buying from customer service, the manufacturing cost is pretty much the only factor that affects the price, which means rare parts or rare colors don't cost more just because they are rare. These parts tend to have very high prices on BL, and often available only in small quantities. On BL, the availability is pretty much the only thing that affects the price so widely available parts can get incredibly cheap, even though they might be more expensive for Lego to produce. Shipping costs on BL also tend to be pretty high depending on where the seller is located, while the sipping cost when buying from Customer service always is the same, no matter how big your order is which is great. One problem with Bricks&Pieces is that when new parts or new colors are released with a set it can take quite long until they are available to buy individually. They appear on BL almost immediately but often at quite high prices.
  15. The inventory for 42069 is most interesting to me. Lots of useful parts in grey and black. The seven light gray 11L axles are welcome
  16. I think they do that to make sure all axles are still available in the old gray and black colors. They know many people like the old colors more, but they've still decided to do more color coding so by changing the colors of axles between sets, none of the more discreet colored axles will slip out of production.
  17. Maybe the design was change slightly to work better with the new driving ring?
  18. An update about availability, it shouldn't take too long now. https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/1c30b0cb-0ac3-48f0-a1e3-a6ff636b71f3
  19. I have used Premiere for quite some time but I have never been experiencing the same problem so it's not easy to help you. One thing I can think of is the sequence settings. Is your resolution set to 1920x1080 in the sequence settings as well? If not, that might be the problem.
  20. I'm very happy with an organizer cabinet I found at Swedish retailer Clas Ohlson. It's fairly cheap and I think the drawers are perfectly sized, I think I have bought six of those cabinets. It seems like they ship to some other European countries as well, and it's not their own product so variants can be found at other retailers as well. http://www.clasohlson.com/uk/Organiser-Cabinet/40-6980
  21. They seem to be fixed in place as well, the axle is connected to a axle/pin cross block and a red #1 connector. And I can't see any other lights on the model, which is strange.
  22. While 42070 being insanely expensive, 42069 is actually very valuable. At least here in Sweden the price per part ratio is very good, I checked some other large technic sets, and some from other themes as well, and found no other set with better value. I will definitely get that one, it has the most interesting functions in my opinion with proper suspension, drivetrain, and interesting doors etc.
  23. A new tire introduced with the Creator expert London bus looks interesting and is probably useful for smaller scale technic MOCs.
  24. As long as they are still making the light gray and black axels I'm okay with the red and yellow ones. You will always have access to black and gray axles of all lengths so that's not really a problem to me. Sometimes it might be awesome to be able to use red or yellow axles for some detailing.
  25. Thank you! Unfortunately it seems like they ship all their products to Sweden, except the Saturn V Seems like I have to wait a even more...
