No I'm sorry, I have never encountered that problem myself, mine starts up just fine so I'm afraid I can't help you. A quick search on Google didn't help either. I'm running DaVinci on a Mac, so if you are on another platform it might look slightly different. If you are a mac-user as well, I recommend downloading DaVinci directly from the AppStore. It's a simpler installation-process and future updates will be installed automatically. You can always try to reinstall the software, it helps sometimes. Good luck! That's a nice video. You are shooting from different angels which makes it more interesting and the music adds a lot. The view is slightly out of focus when the drive train is demonstrated. You are probably holding the camera too close to the subject; next time try to have the camera further away and zoom instead. It might help, but when zooming it easily gets shaky if you holding the camera, so try using a tripod. The focus is the only thing a think you could improve. Just continue making videos and you'll learn by yourself.

I'm currently using Premiere Pro, but if I had to switch back to a free software I would definitely choose DaVinci Resolve. It's surprisingly professional to be free, I consider editing my next project in DaVinci just for fun. It has many similarities with professional softwares like Premiere and Final Cut which helps if you want to upgrade in the future. It also has great features for color grading, probably better than Premiere since they are easier to use. Color grading can be very useful when working with Lego to get all the colors right. It might take some time to fully master it, but watching YouTube-tutorials in the beginning should help. I'm sure it's gonna be worth the time.

I browsed this tread today and saw your comment. I didn't know about the triangular and rectangular tread link shapes, so I thought it was interesting and checked mine. I've got them from 8043, which I bought in 2010, and from 42055. The only difference I could spot between the old and new ones were the thickness of the ridges on top, the shape on the bottom were the same. Do you know when TLG changed to mold? I can't understand why my links are the same. EDIT: I thought you meant the new mold is rectangular, but when taking a look at BrickLink I realized the newer version has the triangular shape. Sorry for misunderstanding. So the new version is worse...

Exactly, I don't think I noticed anything when building the Jet. When I disassembled it, the gear just fell of the axle it was connected to and that was when I noticed it.- 5,465 replies

Some of the LEGO Technic sets can be motorized without any modification and there are building instructions for that included. If you buy the 8293 Power Functions set you get all of what is needed to motorize those sets, including 42038. If you check the very end of the instructions you'll find the instruction for motorizing the set. You can check there which parts are needed, but it's probably better to buy the complete 8293 set. As I wrote before it's meant to be combined with that set and that will give you all parts needed to motorize more sets in the future too.

I have checked that, it's the same with all axles... strange I might have to check again, I think both of my gears had this issue...- 5,465 replies

The two 24z gears that came with my copy of 42066 have ZERO friction... they look exactly the same as previous molds, but they literally fall of an axle if it's tilted. Have TLG changed the mold slightly or is there something wrong with the gears I got? Would be strange if both parts had this issue. Have anyone else experienced this?- 5,465 replies

Okay, I think 42043 is a great set because it involves both suspension, drivetrain, power functions and pneumatics. That's of course my own opinion. I would then still recommend 42055...
-
Yeah, I agree with @WvG_853, in my opinion 42043 is way better than both 42053 and 42055. It offers a nice combination of functions, and a very interesting building experience. Why zero interest?
-
Difficult question... Those are two very different sets. I have built both and I liked 42055 more, because it involved some very interesting building techniques and complex mechanisms. The final model has it's flaws, it doesn't word very well... If you're gonna have it as display model, this is probably not a good choice, it's not beautiful so to say. If you plan to disassemble it and use the parts for MOC's, the 42055 is a great choice. 42053 isn't an advanced model, but I'm a big fan of pneumatics so I enjoyed that. The final result looks good and works well, but it's a bit flimsy. I would choose 42055, because of the interesting model and the many parts.
-
42054 is also a great buy for parts. It has awesome tires, many recently released connectors and such parts. You get some small LAs and two large turntables. It also offers a fantastic building experience and the finished model looks awesome. I has everything, probably the best Technic set up to date in my opinion.

A quite interesting video about the design process of the BMW. Also shows how BMW built the B-model in real life. -
I created a video for the B-model as well. Unfortunately the build was almost the same as the A-model, except the lack of the VTOL linkage. The landing gears were almost identical to those in model A. 200 parts were left over so the B-model uses about 950.

Great models! The orange work very well on the race car and the race kart, probably even better than the original bright green. Look forward to more... -
Oh.. I totally forgot about those. Still a quite limited selection of parts though...

Except the Jet, medium blue is only included in the Hot Rod from 2014 which only involves a few parts. I think it's quite a nice color, but it seems difficult to use it in mocs...

Hi! I just wanted to share my demo video of the 42066 Air Race Jet. My expectations weren't very high for this model, but it was way better than I thought it would. The model looks great, it's very well built and the color scheme works really well. It looks way better in real life than on videos and pictures, if you don't mind the small wings (i don't) there's not much to complain about. The building experience was interesting, with some of the latest parts used and I personally love complex linkages. I was lucky enough to get some 20% off, but even at full price I think it's totally worth the money. Nice to have a decent supply of beams and panels in medium blue. Hope you like the video

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but the page buttons never work for me. Each time I have to click on a certain page button and then reload the page. I only experience this in the technic forum, which is rather strange. -

Yes you are probably right, but I don't think that matters. It's better to have many parts of one color, then a few parts in several different colors. -
Technic 2017 Set Discussion

I must say I'm a bit disappointed. The fire truck seems like a nice set, but I don't like how it looks (I don't like how the real thing looks either, so it might be for that reson). I'm not a big fan at all of 42069, I don't know how it works, but the color scheme is really bad in my opinion. I have looked forward to see the Porsche fender panels in other colors than orange. Black, read or white would be very useful, but purple... why? There are probably 20 technic parts made in purple which makes them pretty useless. I'm very happy to see that the Tow Truck seems to have medium blue parts instead of azure, as it looked liked in the prelim. pictures. I think the azure color is quite ugly, and the medium blue looks way better. This makes me more likely to buy the Tow Truck, even though I'm not a big fan of RC flagships because of their low complexity and high price. The functionality might be great for all three sets, but the looks are what disappoint me. None of the sets look really good in my opinion, at least not compared to some other sets we've seen recently, like the CLAAS or the Race Jet for example. -

I really like the opportunity to build in different colors. It's great that some new fresh colors are introduced next to the classic ones. I don't like though, when the color is introduced with a very small selection of parts, as in the Stunt Truck. I don't own any technic parts in medium blue, light green, purple etc. because they are of little use in such small selection of parts. I'm very happy that medium blue is used in the Race Jet though, because this is the first chance to get enough of the blue parts to use them in my own models. I will most likely not get any technic parts in medium azure until that color is used in a bigger set. -

Yes that's definitely medium blue, fortunately.
