  1. I’m loving the rumour of Himeji Castle!
  2. Wow … I really like that initial design. The two neon signs are great, especially the saxophone. The colours, the rooflines (especially on the jazz club), the extra floor on the pizzeria, etc.
  3. Keeping my fingers crossed that one of these bigger / 18+ Disney sets is Disneyland Castle aka Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. I’m torn between the best piece count though - the smaller seems maybe a touch too low and the bigger seems way too many, unless there’s a lot of superfluous builds (although some detailed parade floats could be cool after seeing the 4+ train).
  4. Is it? Locally (Australia) the castle and pirate ship could be purchased on special for around $100 (AUD), whereas the Galaxy Explorer is $160 (AUD) on special. I guess different region pricing? Edit: I didn’t realise that the Galaxy Explorer is something of a retailer exclusive down under (only available at one major retailer (Kmart)), so that would help explain why it’s never been available for as low a price as the castle and pirate ship as there’s no competition.
  5. I’m thinking some kind of classic space themed set. The Galaxy Explorer is nice, but pricey. I think there could be something similar, but at the price point of the Creator castle and pirate ship.
  6. Cozy House looks lovely. Not quite a return to the golden age of Creator houses, like 31012, but a pretty huge improvement over the recent residential houses.
  7. That’s what I’m hoping for, but I just don’t know at that price point. I’d probably prefer to see the Disneyland Castle done justice rather than a … “cheap” version just to coincide with the anniversary. It is smaller, so perhaps it’s possible?
  8. I don’t know … is there a special handshake I’m suppose to know? 🤝
  9. Main Street sounds promising! Space roller coaster is cool, but I’m hoping for a classic-inspired space ship after the recent classic-inspired pirates and castle sets.
  10. I’m still okay with the exterior - I don’t mind the “homage” to the classic Lego colours (red, blue and yellow), although there’s some baffling details (omission of pizza sign, lavender door for the tailors, the entire greenhouse). The interior … does not work for me. I guess it doesn’t matter that much, since I rarely look at the interiors, but it’s a shame that cost-cutting measures are so obvious in merging the jazz club and pizzeria without even trying to have it make sense (pizzeria serving food and drink to patrons of the jazz club after dark). I’m looking forward to more single purpose buildings and I hold out hope that we’ll see a museum, school, library, post office, hospital / cottage hospital, apartment building and the scuppered newspaper HQ.
  11. It’s not too bad. As others have noted, the “greenhouse” on the roof of the pizzeria / tailor seems particularly poorly designed (compared to prior greenhouses in Creator and Friends (?)). I’m not enthused about the inclusion of a jazz club, but it’s a pretty basic “box / square” design that could perhaps be easily modified into a small apartment block? Or a library, school or museum.
  12. Friends is on fire! The City Centre looks very interesting with its mix of architectural styles.
  13. Come on Cozy House reveal!
  14. I guess you could do the Disneyland / Sleeping Beauty castle for that price … it is a fair bit smaller. Still that’s a lot less than the Frozen Ice Castle. And with all the recent price increases, plus the Disney tax, I’m not sure what $160 (US) would actually get you.
  15. I hope the Up house will be minifigure scale. 598 pieces doesn’t leave a lot of room for size or internal details, especially as … at least 100+ of those pieces will be for the balloons. The Peter Pan book sounds interesting. And potentially like the start of a whole new series of Disney sets. I’m not sure about the train … it would be nice to have a more affordable option. But, 4+ … it doesn’t inspire great confidence.
  16. Fingers crossed for the Disneyland / Sleeping Beauty castle in its new, vibrant colour scheme!
  17. I’m pretty disappointed if we’re getting another eatery - cafe, bakery, green grocer, French restaurant, diner, another bakery, another cafe and a rooftop bar! But, I’m hopeful that the Modular, once officially revealed, will still impress me.
  18. Absolutely! I may be in the minority, but once built I very rarely look at the interiors ever again. But, the exterior is on display daily on my shelves. That is where I would prefer to see more “value” in terms of the size of the Modular. The Green Grocer is the near perfect level of interior detail for me - plenty to see through the large glass windows on the ground floor and enough upstairs to clearly “suggest” the residential purpose.
  19. Perhaps the large set could be their own version of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Cottage?
  20. Cozy House sounds promising! 31012 (Family House) had 756 pieces and was a great build. Fingers crossed they achieve something similar with 808 pieces!
  21. Oh, I’m very happy to see another Creator 3 in 1 building. I’m just not sure it quite matches up to some of their previous ones, although I prefer it to the toy shop. The Friends theatre and art school both look incredible.
  22. That art school exterior / facade is so lovely!
  23. I’m not loving the Noodle Shop. The stairs are a nice addition and it’s good to see a return to the concept of a fully enclosed building, but … it all looks a bit disjointed to me. And the ice cream cart / bike seems unnecessary and out of place.
  24. I’m pretty disappointed we’re not getting the Seven Dwarves’ cottage.
  25. I’m very excited about the rumour of a Sanctum Sanctorum Modular! It would be an awesome addition to my Modular street/s.
