You have to decide wether you really want to use those colors - pricewise they are ok - personally I didnt like the colors so I gave these sets a pass Personally I like set 41033 very much :) - bought it six times already and planning on a couple more. its got two vines and some foliage!!, and a couple of burps which might be useful - and lots of grey bricks - I bought them at about 25% off

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
CaptainToad replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Is there any way to tell which set fits into which star wars movie ? I have been thinking about getting into star wars but due to a small budget would like to invest into original trilogy sets only. -
respect!!!

Lego themes that we would like to happen
CaptainToad replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As far as animals are concerned I would really appreciate a variety of farm animals! and common animals like rabbits, foxes etc. they would really come in handy for all kinds of mocs... other animals are welcome as well :)- 451 replies

Yeah, those monkeys are really awkward - I dont really like those friends animals in general, some of them might be OK, though. I generally wish lego would provide a wider variety of lego animals - and use them more often in sets - I am looking forward to finally getting a proper set with some farm animals - hopefully they will re-release the medieval market village- 451 replies

Anything historic for me! I dont think there will be another pirates wave - western isnt likely anytime soon - hopefully the upcoming castle theme won't be a disappointment. Besides that I would like to see a sherlock holmes theme - victorian London steam punk style :) ! anything jules verne would be awesome as well... but I guess thats not what the kids nowadays are into... Ancient greece would be cool, too. Bringing back the vikings would be awesome as well, as it can be nicely implemented into the castle theme. Speaking of western, both the war of independence and the civil war would be awesome themes - Generally I would want lego to create more animals (friends animals dont really do the job for me), like birds, tigers etc. AND BRING BACK THE MONKEYS!!!!- 451 replies

that doesnt sound too good - to me :) they should bring out at least two-three new sets -
-
are there any rumours about a possible second wave of pirates sets?
-
true - it wouldnt hurt to have both elements available :)
-
Truth be told its very similar in its funtion and design. I guess it all depends on what you want to do with it... to me the older version was far superior and MORE functional - hopefully Lego surveys this forum and reconsiders the design

Yes, thats the way it had happened. Got a call today from their customer service (very friendly people btw) and it turned out that the parts I wanted are no longer in production. As far as the parts are concerned I think both are good. However, I like the one with the flat underside better. I use it for building trees and I can attach an additional leave underside - which I cannot do with the newer element. IMHO they should have either declared that element out of stock or attached a note that if I order this element I will get the other one :) Not all changes are for the better

Today I received an order from bricks and pieces I ordered element: 6012805 instead I received: 6044725 I checked the confirmation again and it actually comes up as design element 14395 (correctly it should be 76768). Has anyone ever had the same problem? Ordering a specific element and receiving something similar but not the one that you needed? This may not seem like a huge difference but I use these elements for building trees and the part that I wanted has one place more to attach leaves to...

any idea when the next castle line might be announced? Is there any chance that we might see some new sets this year? or is next year a safer bet?

So there wont be another pirate wave? :(

Two Years without Lego: and What I learned

Never again will I complain about lego being expensive -
yeah, thats the trend nowadays. It can be best seen in video games I guess, games with lots of gore, sex and violence and bad attitude are selling millions. I couldnt stand those games anymore, guess thats why I have bought myself a Wii U :)

Building an (American) Civil War Army...help? Tips?
CaptainToad replied to oscarone's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego is generally expensive and the sets and themes are never the way you want them to be I guess. The lego ranger series was both boon and bane to me, first I was very happy that lego came up with another western theme - I dont invest in retired sets (dont have too much money to waste) so these were the first western themed sets in my collection - a dream come true in a way. But then I dont really like lincensed minifigs - always prefered the original yellow lego style. So I am gonna have customise all of these minifigs. Because of that I never actually bought that cavalry set - too much customisation! Didnt buy the train set as well - because of its lack of a power function, the other sets were good IMHO but all of them featured tonto and the lone ranger, tonto can be customised, the lone ranger not to much I guess. So I really hope they will bring back the old western sets or make new ones based on those... -

You might be right on that one, its still sad -
I am afraid you are right! I am not sure any of those themes like pirates, cowboys, knights means anything to the kids nowadays,

Building an (American) Civil War Army...help? Tips?
CaptainToad replied to oscarone's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi I would like to build a civil war army as well! :) You might wanna consider the lone ranger cavalry set, it contains three soldiers and one horse! :) and some weapons (a canon for example) -
I really wished they would bring back the forestmen - sort of a robin hood style theme - would be awesome - and a variety of villagers/ townsfolks - but lets be realistic: this doesnt seem to happen any time soon I guess

Getting Shipping Boned on BrickLink
CaptainToad replied to S_Bartfast's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I generally use only PAB and sometimes bricks and pieces every once in a while, I mostly wait until there is a promotional set included - the prices are generally higher but at least they dont charge for shipping and I can be sure the parts are new. -

Amazing experience! Its a pity not all people in all countries can afford to buy lego for their kids - actually quite a shame that the Lego people dont find ways to make lego more affordable in those countries... I remember, when I was young that my mother couldnt really afford to buy that much Lego to me (father died when I was six and things toughened), I just had a couple of sets which never really amounted to much. -
Buying things for the sake of getting this freebie probably aint worth it. I needed some parts so I place a pab order I would have placed anyway - sooner or later - so this set came in handy - best thing in the set is the shark IMHO
-
Ordered mine as well, wasnt visible this morning - somehow... BTW I am thining about that chess set as well, it would definitely boost up my pirates and soldiers crew
