I can't believe this to be a first microscale, its just too good! I'm loving both the small details (like the excellent fountain designs ) and the general lay-out, with the castle towering over the harbour and the angled bridge Just thinking out loud now, but woulf it be a possibility to add some coloured roofs to a few buildings (for example: the little stands in the castle) to spice things up?

Where's the 'direct' part in backstabbing and plotting exactly? Because I fear I'me overlooking something now... Maybe we're so civil because the other guilds need something to look up to and move towards to? I'm sure Varlyrio will understand in a decade or two Has it ever been gone than?

A pity you couldn't write a story, because if it would have been as good as the build... @The Maestro knows what I'm going to say first: maybe a bit too much texture here, but that's just nitpicking I really love to see more tudored sections, even when they seem to be in disrepair a small remark about the tower's window though: it feels very bad to have these vertical 'beams' next to it dropping dead before reaching the roof... Aside from that, some great landscaping, and especially liking the vegetable garden!

Oh my, LJ! When I started in the guilds, I had absolutely no love for Kaliphlin. Not only was the guild too sandy for my taste, I also didn't like the builds' styles. Now, about three years later, I have to admit that I've come to like it. Not everything of course, there's still too much sand, but builds like this one have slowly changed my mind - and not a little bit! I don't dare to say it, but I think I may even have fallen in love with the elvish arches, the many awnings, the exotic goods, the camels and the ostriches... all of which, except maybe the last one, are beautifully combined in this little island (side not one: some good rockwork as well, I just could not say nothing about that ) (side note two: I've counted four sigfigs, is that possible or do I need to look better?)

Just wanting to say that I'm a huge fan of the Varlyrian family scheming mechanics, it almost adds a next dimension to the guild

Some small, but absolutely awesome intro builds! Its cool to see how you presented the figs on a different background, but still in the same style. I especially liek the first one, with it's rounded corner, glass window and inverted flower rounds in the base Impressive family tree as well, I'm defenitely looking forward to seeing all these members in the flesh - eh, yellow!

Nice one ZG! A second tree wouldn't hurt, as you have already mentioned yourself, to give the build a bit more depth and to better transfer the image of a real orchard. Aside from that, a very bright colourscheme on top of some sweet vegetation and a very cute (that's the only adjective I can come up with, I fear) wall make for a great MOC! I'm already looking forward to your next Varlyrian build!

Such a nice MOC, good job RA! I really like how you represented all the different guilds, each with their own wares (the Avalonian ones )! The many details make it hard to pick one or two, but a special thumbup for the gnomish cabin is well deserved, I think

Absolutely loving his comment, Arthur really likes this de Gothia! Also, he wonders whether Nocturnus will be completely left on it's own. Won't we send aid, food to feed our friends, troops to sagefuard them from our enemies? OOC: great prelude, even better MOC. The lighting is just perfect, and even though the hall is pretty bare, the small details like the chandler and the chairs are enough to create a nice atmosphere. I feel honoured to make an appearance in such a nice building!

Well, Book II is finally here, resulting in a sudden burst of activity (as you may have noticed). If you want to read up on how we defeated Ravaage, you can do so here. Aside from that, Nocturnus is no longer one of the four 'core guilds', being swapped out for Varlyrio. Of course, you can still build in the region and Shadowmere is still an existing place, one just can't sign up for them anymore. I'm not completely sure what happened to our favoured vampire, though I think he made an appearance in multiple Ch V entries! Maybe some of your excellent builds could show us how he's doing/has been doing since we last heard of him?

Wow, that's a lot of texture! Well, everyone has his own taste I guess? Aside from that, a very nice lodge I really like the roof (though a bit more contrast with the landscaping wouldn't hurt, IMHO), the irregular border and the shield + antlers above the head are an ideal finishing touch!
