  1. Oh. Well, a friend of the father of my brother-in-law's nephew, who works at Blocks Magazine, just told me they will be available for purchase at the Antarctic LEGO Brand Store. It will also be handed out to kids taking part in the monthly building event, on top of K2, Nepal. Should be true. Will get.
  2. Agreed, looks like dark blue armour to me, which is awesome! Would go well with the CMF Space Marine.
  3. Thank you! It's really your standard war machine, is it? I hope to explain what it exactly does in a future build.
  4. Great idea! Personally, I was thinking of the Hypnobrai printed 1x1.
  5. I can only agree, fantastic work on both of these builds! This Kiarr is one twisted character; I wonder what other inconceivable deeds he has done!
  6. I bought some (mostly) vintage parts this weekend: All decorations are prints. I'd like to know what set the following parts came in (or just the element ID): blue 1x4 with stars black 2x2 tiles with animal blueprints white 2x2 with hospital cross black 1x2 with futuristic display yellow 1x2 with faded arrow yellow 1x2, 2x2, with "X-RAY" and "SHOP" yellow 1x4 with mysterious signs black 2x2 with "4" white racer torso grey legs with blue and yellow print black legs with green belt and upper leg armour
  7. That map will definitely be included, looks accurate. Other than that, I see tons of easter eggs, but none of my interest. Somebody probably already brought this up, but maybe a 2x4 painting could be included still.
  8. Well, I often check the news on my phone and leave the replies for when I'm behind my laptop. Typing (and googling in particular) are quite a nuiscance on mobile, so that's why I asked. Thanks
  9. A charged creeper, didn't see it coming but definitely welcome! @Han solo died Thanks for notifying us whenever there is news, but... .. could you please be so kind to include links in the future? Copy-pasting the URL should be a small effort, and it saves others the time to google. (Forgive my laziness!)
  10. Looks great and it's way more refined than the scimitar that we already have. A bit of Googling reveals that it is called an oxtail saber (niuweidao), a type of Chinese broadsword. The ninja hood will be a dual moulded single piece, for sure. The street scene, bridge and temple all sound really interesting.
  11. Lloyd will be included in the May issue of the magazine! AWWWH YEAAAH!!! So the Movie reveals have finally begun.. Oh, the excitement! I have to say: those villains are splendid! Judging from their faces, these aren't the usual goofball criminals; these are fearless killer machines, who may have fought countless battles on the front lines of some mighty empire! Additionally, their suits and breathing apparatuses enhance the impression of these guys being highly skilled, special operation unit henchmen. The contrast with their goofy fish weapons and headgear is priceless ! I like how Zane has a serious expression, as opposed by the creepy overjoyed face we saw previously. Great to see a new but similar hairstyle for him in white (I love white hairpieces, obviously )! I feel like the change of signature weapon from shurikans to a bow fits his character very well, even though that may signify that we will (still) not be getting shurikans in silver... Other than that, I can hardly wait till more official set images get revealed! "Shark mech", because it has the head of a hammerhead shark. Also, I'm pretty sure Sir von Lego means the little police vehicle. I think "car" would be rather inappropriate for something that has fricking DUAL TANK TREADS and SUPERLASER...

  13. The bloke has permanent anti-studs on his back now...
  14. TLG sure knows how to tease! Exciting!

  16. 1. Ah, yes indeed, the Spartan and Battle Goddess can both be considered army builders of the Greek genre. Unlike the Romans, though, there is no common theme (pattern, insigna, colour scheme) between the two, or with most of the other Greek figures. So, as far as army building goes, you are still stuck with a multitude of figures of the same rank, unless you find a way to create other ranks with minifig parts from other LEGO themes. The options can be very limited, because the CMF line is often the place where new genres are introduced. Please bear in mind that Romans vs. Greeks is an example. The main message here is that (in my opinion), you need a few army builder figures, sharing a common theme, in order to have a good foundation for a new (historic/fantasy) genre. 2. Agreed! 3. I'm happy about that, great figures, although I still wouldn't put them side by side, as part of the same army, without major part swaps.
  17. I can't see the pictures, only a window saying "Resize you pictures and photos for free at www.shrinkpictures.com".
  18. What existing pieces could be used for the Power Ranger's shoulder gear and helmets, I wonder? In fact, the creator is proposing new pieces here...
  19. Fair points, couldn't have worded that better. Also a very valid remark. Personally, I prefer to have a diverse bunch of characters that have some kind of common theme (a pattern, colour scheme, insignia). For relatively well-established genres (i.e. medieval Castle), CMFs are useful for expanding the diversity and bringing in uniqueness, which is great. However, consider the Roman and the Greek LEGO genres, both born from the CMF line. The Romans started with a Gladiator, but then followed the Soldiers, the Centurion and the Emperor. The Greeks have a Minotaur, Medusa, a Cyclops, Poseidon and Athena (basically). So: the Roman genre has 3 massable figures, the Greek genre has almost exclusively one-of-a-kind characters. Without duplicates, you can in both cases populate a small vignette. Now, try populating a 1m² Acropolis, compared to a 1m² Forum Romanum, with CMFs alone. You will find that your amount of Romans can grow with the size of your MOC, while the Greeks cannot. I think that's the main reason why the massable Romans appear to be more successful minifigs then the diverse Greeks. In conclusion, I would say that if you want to establish a new genre, like non-licensed Elves or Dwarves, it is essential to have a few army building figures as a base.
  20. Jup, time to educate myself on making lego stopmotions
  21. Not brick-built, nor bigfig. For the Nordic Giant, I was thinking along the lines of the Woody figure in terms of size, sort of like how biblical giant Goliath compared to David (which would be regular minifig size). As for the ogre, the emphasis was on the fact that it's not a goblin or cyclops. Maybe in medium nougat would be nice.
