  1. I was secretly hoping to get Roog's head/body gear piece in sand blue or black in the BP, too bad about that... It's such a great piece for a stone golem or minifig Ent, but not in purple. The upper two stone monsters are pretty nice, though, cool helmet and I don't mind the reuse of the Rogul face and sand blue Ash attacker helmet at all.
  2. Thanks a lot, guys! @Blufiji I have a white desk against a white wall and a rod-shaped LED desk lamp. I make the room dark, turn on the lamp and hold it really close to the object I want to photograph. It creates that kind of shade horizon effect (the further away/larger the object, the less contrast is between illuminated surface and shade).
  3. 70625: Samurai VXL has the Medusa hair in Dark red and one of the two new Vermillion armours available. That's about all the new interesting stuff I could find.
  4. Only because a certain white-haired mage happened to be absent, right?
  5. I don't really get your point? In my opinion,TLG shouldn't release sets about every concept or theme that can exist in people's Minecraft creations. It's a bad idea, because of market saturation. Introducing different skins (and the remaining mobs, blocks and structures, too) in the sets would help to keep the theme viable. More Steve variants to collect = more sets sold. While writing this, I had some crazy set ideas that are never happening, sharing them just for fun: 211XX: The Server - Includes main lobby with mini game portals, parkour and a PvP mini game area. Also comes with Steve, Alex and three player minifigs with custom skins, two lobby pets, two server mob heads and a fire trail. 211XX: Modpack - Includes a generated boss structure. Comes with Alex, Herobrine, custom evil villager soldiers, custom chests and craftable devices, overpowered armours, swords and magic wands.
  6. As someone who has never seen nor heard of NBC's The Office, I can say this looks like a bunch of dull minifigs with random ordinary objects in an oversized, not very well-excecuted, boring office. I see very little appeal for the international market.
  7. Agreed! Imagine if we would have gotten those with the waves up to now... A nomad skin for the Desert-themed set, adventurer skin for the Jungle hideout, a snow coat for the Ice spikes set... Missed opportunities. There are official MC skins for console players, so I don't see why LEGO couldn't design 'official' skins for Steve and Alex in the regular sets and not just figure packs.
  8. Thank you! Yes, photographing hasn't been optimal for this build, usually I only use this setup for figbarfs only, but at 2.30 AM, I was a little out of options... I hope to explain the significance of trans purple and the gold in a different build soon(-ish), as well as to properly continue my Exetrius Saga. A big thanks for your compliment, I feel like this is really my niche within Nocturnus, and more will certainly follow!
  9. I can't find a single thing that does not look good in this build, everything is just right and that's a feast for the eye! The greens work well for the house, along with the excellent figures. I like the activity, from the forging in the back, to the woodchopping in the front. Nice balance between studs and tiles on the ground, too. And those missiles... heavy-duty! Great work!
  10. A weapon of epic proportions, perfectly befitting the description of this catagory ("... the likes of which Historica has never seen before!"). Unusual shaping, plus the integrated dragon head decoration (which indeed looks like a wolf head to me) makes this a very fine piece of equipment! Nice work on the irregular base and construction process as well.
  11. To be honest, I am not too keen on the siege engine itself (head looks rather awkward, wheels are too thin). However, I like pretty much anything else to be seen here, particularly the minifigure posing and the wooden pavement.
  12. Superb entry, John! The way all those materials are laying around in stock and are being carried around and put together by minifigs throughout the build is fantastic! Beautiful architecture as well!
  13. That's a rather elegant battering ram, Milo! I also like the use of common tools as door decoration, creative. The cobblestone path is proper, as is the stone part of the house. The rest of it might be better if it had a more ramshackle look and if it were less top-heavy. I feel like the concept of the tower is okay, but for a different purpose.
  14. Cat. B entry for the Resistance:
  15. Beneath the Zotharian city hall lays a secret, safeguarded chamber with thick, reinforced walls. The chamber is said to contain Zotharith's most prestigious projects. Ten days or so ago, Onicius locked himself in this place, only to be disturbed by those delivering either food or materials, twice a day. He has been tinkering on an immensely complicated magical device. The process from idea, to working out the design, and building took months, but now, it is nearing completion... Onicius calls it the Arcane Regulation Core (ARC), which will eventually enable him to control arcane magic flows on a whole different level. The wheels of fate are slowly starting to turn! Hello guys! I had this build in mind for the Exetrius Saga for half a year or so, but I thought it would be a fitting entry to the Challenge as well, so built it earlier then I originally planned to. Turned out fine in my opinion, even though I had to rush the base. Hope you enjoyed, C&C always appreciated!
  16. Dutch webshop brickshop.nl has set names in Dutch (translated them as best as I could): 10730 Lightning Mcqueen's Quick Launcher - €9,99 10731 Cruz Ramirez Race Simulator - €9,99 10732 Guido & Luigi's Pit stop - €9,99 10733 Mater's Demolition Site - €9,99 10742 Willy's Butte Speed Training - €17,99 10744: Thunder Hollow Crazy 8 Race - €39,99 Interesting to see such a big lineup of sets dedicated to one theme within Juniors.
  17. You've got a point there! For the dagger, I wish I had that blade piece in silver, so that it wouldn't contrast so much with the handle. Maybe I will put some effort into making a proper accessory, later. Anyway, thanks for your feedback!
  18. One question: why? No offence, but seeking contact with the judge of the contest about (supposedly) your unposted entry... suspicious. If you want to know if people like your build or story, just post it. You'll get positive or contructive feedback. Lore-related questions can of course be asked in the Nocturnus Guild thread.
  19. @jakbar Neat army, man! Good in size, and diverse. The rebellion faction is my favorite, by far! Derrick is an awesome figure (maybe sigfig material for GoH? )
  20. Good spotting! Curious if they will be going with a player-built structure this time. Oh, and hopefully we'll get Chickens
  21. Hello, sci-fi forum dwellers! I'm new to this subforum and this will be my very first MOC here! After watching Evangelion Neon Genesis and Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team, I was inspired to build a mech of some sort. Today, I proudly present my first mech: "Handyman". Handyman is a Utility Type mobile suit, built for a wide range of tasks. Its light armour allows for good articulation and agility. Handyman has counterweighted shoulders, to facilitate carrying heavy load around, a multi-tool left hand for salvaging, powerful light units, shoulder-mounted shooters and a retractable arm blade for minor combat. Aside from its utility programs, Handyman also has a recreational mode: All the Soldier Type mobile suits are envious of these breakdance moves! Bloody utility peasants... "Catch!" "You better keep your distance, mate! I have a power dagger and I'm not afraid to use it!" Handyman is operated by a single pilot, who is seated in the torso: Thank you for viewing! I thoroughly enjoyed this build and it has further awakened my interest in sci-fi builds. I hope you like it as well, C&C is very appreciated!
  22. I really can't think of anything other than the generic catapult, battering ram, trebuchet or rolling siege tower for category B.
  23. Also, on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-Batman-Mini-Batmobile-Chevrolet-in-Chevy-Bag-Chicago-Auto-Show-2017-NEW-/322443205674?hash=item4b131cdc2a:g:9hwAAOSw4CFYvJs9 That's going to be a hard one for the ultimate completists...
  24. Notice the physical bricks on the cover, which is neat. According to Bouwsteentjes.info, you can store 25 Nexo powers in it, and it is available at TRU in the United States, no word on availability in Europe yet.
  25. Next ninja in the magazine is Zane, with an intriguing weapon! From Promobricks: https://www.promobricks.de/heft-review-lego-ninjago-magazin-32017-mit-kai-minifigur/28725
