  1. I don't mean to be rude, but do you have any other GoH builds? I couldn't find any on your Flickr.
  2. Oh how I wish TLG would do a traditional ninja head wrap in green for Lloyds new throwback suit... That one set from what, 1999, is just so expensive... A nice surprise that Sensai Wu was shown, his robe looks really similar to his 2011 version, but I don't mind that since I missed out on that one. Echo Zane looks very accurate to the show, I like him a lot. Pythor in robes looks a little odd when you can't see his torso print, maybe they should have gone with a hooded version with a black head and red eyes, but I'm sure the torso will be useful. Too bad the Purple ninja and Cole with transparent arms were not on diplay, I am pretty hyped for them! Oh btw, Cole and Jay both get another new face, nice treat!
  3. Looks good, simple but conveys the movie scene very well
  4. Thank you for your compliment and suggestion! I was aware of it, but at this point, I do not own more purple cheese slopes and 1x2 tiles than you can see in this picture. I will certainly try this in the future, if my collection allows it Thanks! The saga will probably continue soon... I know, right? Diversity and having a very distinct style of your own is nice and all, but I think this is a great way to show appreciation for someone else's work and it enhances the cohesion. I should do a Shadowmere build, someday Thank you folks!
  5. Congratulations on completing the challenge! You are indeed improving quickly, I think this is your best build yet! I like the towers section the most, with the roof and the great textured round wall The minifig posing is definately a highlight and does quite well at obscuring the fact that you don't seem to own most commonly used 'Algus pieces', I should try that myself, as I face a bit of the same problem. I'm looking forward to your next builds! .
  6. Exetrius Saga 1: Fallen leaf Episode 2: Message in Kyrrath It has been a couple of weeks since Exetrius was tasked with the delivery of a letter to a client in Kyrrath. Due to several delays - including many cases of 'side-step exploring', getting lost in an unexpected snowstorm and taking part the annual Carakath festival celebration - he arrived in the City of Purple several days later than planned. If anything, his journey had given him new energy. Though he had already reached the city of Kyrrath, his instructions for the exact location of his client were a rather vague. The only thing it said was: "Small house with dragon statues." As usual, the addressed person was anonymous... So there he was, walking the streets of Kyrrath, hoping to find the house by luck. He asked around, but nobody knew the place. The city really impressed him, though; such bizarre, intriguing architecture, unlike anything he had seen before. And so much purple.... The stories he had heard turned out to be true. He found himself in the outskirts of the city, when he saw a small house that matched his descriptions. He stepped towards the door, but someone already came from the garden. To his great surprise, it was his aunt Alicia (Onicius' sister). He hadn't seen her in almost two years. It turned out that she moved to Kyrrath about four months ago. After some some catching up on the state of affairs, Alicia opened the letter. Onicius was the sender! He had probably set this up from the very beginning, Exetrius thought. She visibly enjoyed reading the letter, but suddenly her look neutralized and she shook her head. She handed the letter to Exetrius: "(...) By the time you receive this letter I am most likely already in Mitgardia, in the high North. I have some important things to figure out here and I will be back in a few weeks. I'd advise my son to head back to headquarters, to practice his Archane magic flow skills (...)" No doubt that his father was up to something! 'Important business' in the North could only mean one thing right now: Algus business... Now he was certain that his father planned this job from the start; it was to lead him away from The Order and the Algus affairs which it was probably about to deal with. Obviously he wanted to protect him, but this was a nasty trick... darn! He said goodbye to his aunt and embarked on a journey whose path he had yet to determine. To be continued.... in the next episode: Equipment upgrade I am back with a build for the Exetrius Saga, I hope you enjoyed it! With the build, I really focused on style consistency with Nocturnus member jaapxaap's builds for his city, Kyrrath. Most of the used techniques were entirely new to me, they were challenging, sometimes frustrating, but fun in the end Thanks for viewing and C&C appreciated, as always!
  7. I was struggling to find the words to say it, but you phrased it exactly how I think about it. @Mandate Sure, there are a lot of things that "could have been", but there are always choices and compromises under the surface that have made this wave what it is. If this wave were marketed as "NINJAGO 5th Anniversery wave", then I'd say the designers did a bad job and missed a lot of locations and characters, but that's not the case. We are getting a new wave (set in the present time in the show), with a significantly increased amount of returning villains, vehicles, locations, etc. and suits that are a throwback to the very beginning of Ninjago. Compromises always leave something left to be desired, but personally I think the design team handled this one fairly well. In my opinion, I like the throwback suits. They would make for good leaders suit in an army of original gi ninja's.
  8. I'd say your wall experiment turned out quite nicely, very natural. Other than that, it's a fine little build.
  9. @Fritzy The yellow thing with red stripe across is a hay block. For some reason I just imagined the D2C as a small 500 piece set with ALL pieces having the game's textures... PRINTED.... EVERYWHERE! That's how to add details to MC sets
  10. Well, that's more or less the only negative thing I can see about these sets, so yeah it had to be said All in all, even without having seen the big range-topper, this is probably the best Ninjago wave ever! Since there are just too many good things and I am too lazy to name them all here, I will highlight some bits: - Lighthouse Defence: magnificently well-done. Incredible fig count and selection as well. Qualifies to me for being the best Ninjago set ever, price point taken into account. - Sonic Raider 2.0: real awesome vehicles, have curves! The printed Jedi Interceptor cockpits were a very great choice. This thing looks much sleeker and WAY more awesome than it's precedessor. Again, the minifigs in this set are far exceeding 'outstanding' to me. Oh, and we have Chen's beloved chair on top of a Clouse monster! Darn! Almost forgot to mention Sensai Yang, with his amazing lantern pole (forgot the Japanese name)! - All other sets have solid, quality builds as well, only that of the Kryptarium Prison is a bit lacking, but well... fig compensation! I really hope the dragon art piece and map are printed. - The new suits, Stone Army figs, PURPLE?! ninja and (Echo) Zane + hair... Splendid! Excellent! Edit: what were the prices again for these sets?
  11. Enjoy your inspiation! And yes, I noticed it too, but honestly I didn't mean 'rear end', just Br. English for donkey Thanks guys!
  12. I find it great to see Zane in white robes again. :)
  13. lIt would be a shame to the entire guild if an Avalonian incidentally comes up with the winning entry... Imagine the consequences... On a serious note though, I think it should be open to all, but all the builds must be set in Nocturnus, with Nocturnian characters. Also, I hope the deadline for this contest is not too soon, since the Frozen Beyond Challenge is quite exhaustive in my opinion.
  14. The Fortress looks pretty cool, those banners are a nice touch, gold armor and the horse are great inclusions too. I hope there is a enchanting table too, because who builds a cool castle without it in-game!? That sounds bonkers, Villagers are the best! Glad they have new moulds to make them as accurate as possible.
  15. I agree, the bathing room looks splendid! I guess the buckets and taps really give it that extra flair. I am most surprised by the looks of the outside. It looks refreshing and I am impressed by the enormous golden wall sections that 1. don't look plain, whilst being mostly large rectangular, flat surfaces, and 2. not looking inappropriatly golden! Lovely build, keep it up
  16. DISCLAIMER: This post may contain high amounts of randomness and should not be taken too seriously! Clarity not guaranteed! Somewhere in the Weird West... "Ain't it my arch nemesis... Afro-Bat Beard-Man!" I, Ninja Hero Guitar Man, am gonna stop you!" "Ghue gwue hue! I got me dynamite, now let's steal a cigar lighter! Oh hi... eh... Nose Boy!" "Why u be so rude...? Hey! Don't think you can escape, cuz me and my buddy Toastrich are faster than you can kiss y'megablocks goodbye!" (Sheriff Cactis) "Does he even have an megablocks...???" "WHOAH!!! A TALKING CACTUS!!!! Bye, kid! *flies away* It felt good to do something entirely different from my usual builds and go completely ridiculous. My objective was to make a figbarf of weird, derpy looking characters, but I ended up making a scene out of it. The script came later, I had my fun C&C appreciated!
  17. Fantastic detail all around, wow! Keep up the good work!
  18. HO-LY Seacow!!! Truely magnificent creation! All those details (especially the interior), functions (rear steering, realistic locks), extra vehicles (that rover... has a licence plate?! ), all the thought that went into this... This creation, together with the recent Spurdog, makes me really want to try a sub... Point of minor criticism: the red top and sides look rather plain. You could reduce that with a 2-stud-wide strip of red tiles going from front to back, linking those bubble windows. I think it would add some sleekness to it.
  19. Ah, I see! Looks WAY more agressive in your context though
  20. Holy darn! This thing is badass brutalness! I like every bit you changed, really! Much NPU, especially at the rear. Btw, which set did the dark red Mask come in?
  21. Very interesting stretch on the challenge. I'm not sure about the absolute lack of snow, but nothing can spoil the fact that this is a truely gorgeous build!
  22. Holy crap! I hope the sets are as amazing as they sound! Indeed, that would be so cool! On second thought, do Elves and mines add up to... Dwarf Elves???
  23. Much improvement, great work
  24. Haha, this was bound to happen! Fire creatures ftw! I the wagon is a pretty neat build, good job
  25. ^Exactly my thoughts. Honestly guys... If it were leaked finalized images, this snippet release thing would be most annoying, but these are just prelims! And so what if the kid wants to generate attention? Once we have Nuremberg coverage (which is soon), it will be over quickly.
