Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge RailRoad stock
THERIZE replied to Chromeknight's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great! They look nice in yellow. -
Definitely a special gift. It might be the light but do the sides of the tower have different colours for the bricks? It looks that way in the pictures. The picture with the original building looks nice.

Thanks!

Season's Greetings, and Merry Christmas!
THERIZE replied to brickbuilder711's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Merry Christmas! And what a nice train! Never knew something like that existed before. -
Nice work like always! I love the great ideas I've always seen in your models like the handrails on the roof. The tender bogies are also of a great design. But... Did you make the model just in such short time? Or were those models already built? And what happened to the others? Do you take them apart or do you build every model with 'new' parts? I'm curious what we can expect now that your BR project ended!

Opinion on Status of SBrick
THERIZE replied to knotian's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So, using advanced control of your LEGO the building doesn't have ideas? No. Being without ideas would be cutting parts or painting them (something I don't really see as a big problem) Using a SBrick means making more advanced models and the use Bluetooth capability to control them. It's not like you modify LEGO. You use different ways of controlling it. SBricks are able to control more complex models. You have the opportunity to do things LEGO can't let you do. Control more motors in a model. Control multiple creations without other remotes interfering with yours. The lacking ideas you are talking about would be modifying existing LEGO pieces. A few more examples: Custom train wheels: you can't make the same LEGO trains when you're using the standard LEGO drivers. They could still be oversized or undersized or they don't look like the model the builder wants (not all steam locomotives have visible counterweights on their wheels) The 1:33 scale trains by 'Tenderlok'. Nearly all use BBB wheels (the custom ones from example above) in this scale the biggest wheels are the only ones that are actually possible to use. Custom guns: a custom mold can create more real looking scenarios or guns that are accurate and that minifigs can actually hold. And obviously: Sbrick: allows Bluetooth control with an Android or IOS device. More motors possible, more accurate control. And this is what is called 'without ideas'? -
Might been answered before but how can I post a link in a word? Example: On this website (HERE) How could I link pictures in 'here' without showing the whole link but only 'here' OR The first page of this topic, all the links are in words, how can I do this myself? I would like to have a link to my Flickr in my signature (in one word) It seems to be a very dumb question...

Very nice!! I love the Nasa locomotives so I LOVE this model!! nope, number 1 is now at Natchitoches Parish Port Number 2 is given away to Gold Coast Railroad Museum Number 3 is at Madison Railroad for regular freight and passenger excursion trains. So luckily all have survived! And like dr_spock said the locomotives are indeed SW1500 locomotives.

[C-MODEL] 42039 - Winter Killer
THERIZE replied to dokludi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wonderful! Fun idea of using the gears as rear lights! (Also, the music you used (Manse - Rising Sun) is copyrighted. So it's likely that your video will get a copyright strike and may or may not be blocked or deleted from youtube)... -
why on earth 2 recievers?

Eeh why? I don't think may AFOLS buy sets, they are more likely to build MOCS and buy the pieces from Bricklink. And I don't think AFOL sets are the ones that sell good, apart from Modular buildings, Technic, architecture and Star Wars I don't see any more AFOL themes. And perhaps with a reason. According to some guys at the 2016 Trains topic the creator expert train production has been stopped. Because they didn't sell well. And looking at all those LEGO train shows perhaps AFOLS do indeed prefer to make own models. I honestly like the variety LEGO has to offer. Speed Champions is a great series if you like cars (like me), LEGO friends for girls (my sister LOVES them!) the theme is better then it used to be in the beginning, they have schools, planes and busses and private yachts. Non of these are in other city style themes. (planes have been a few years ago and busses are part of the biggest sets) And really, duh many AFOLS do not like themes like Chima, Ninjago, elves and MINECRAFT. But looking at the average age of a MINECRAFT player I'm not surprised that AFOLS do not like it. 'It only has tiles and is expensive blah' WHAT ON EARTH WOULD YOU EXPECT FROM A MINECRAFT THEME? Everything in minecraft is BLOCKY!! You see, BLOCKY!! That would be like the same as saying: LEGO Star Wars is boring, it's grey. BUT STAR WARS VEHICLES ARE GREY.
-
Lets hope they didn't! I never noticed those sets did not sell well. They were always gone before I had money to buy them On the other hand, trains are somehow one of the bad selling products (of which I don't see a reason why) so it's not really surprising (or it is) that LEGO stopped the production of Creator Expert. I don't see a reason why the expert trains weren't good sellers. Yes, they were expensive but were also the best designed city like sets. Perhaps most people want to moc there own? Sad.

A T1? For realism we would need to remove the O rings of the drivers

Well, there is one nice thing about not having a special 50 years years LEGO train. WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN!! Perhaps a nice idea for a new contest!

big models (creator expert, modulars) train if there will be one Brick Bank CITY rally car (60113) race boat (60114) rally pick up truck (60115) air ambulance (60116) garbage truck (60118) police chase? (60128) speed champions porsche pit lane (75876) Ford truck + hot rod (75875) corvette (75870) camaro drag race (75874) mustang (75871) well, that will cost A LOT of money and I don't even have all the 2015 sets I want i will at least buy Brick Bank for sure!!
-
Ford pickup needs a lower roof and less tilted windscreen. Corvette just looks like he's eating a Big Mac. the headlights should be the same plates as as the bottom but transparant. Porsche set is stunning

Nah, don't keep them. I only have 2 boxes (both opened) and the only reason I still have them is because I'm just to lazy to take them downstairs and throw them away. Edit: I also keep my CUUSOO / Ideas boxes.

Very cool! But, how does the top lean to one side? Looking at the video it seems that the force from the XL motor. And if it stops, how does it tilt back to horizontal? Is that what the rubber bands are for?

Well, I don't think it is really surprising for a forum that is based of a subtheme doesn't have many set reviews. With only one train per 1/2 years it seems pretty logical that we don't have many set reviews. More contests would be nice. But looking at the other theme forums Train Tech seems to be a pretty calm theme.

I bet that elf also wants cookies. Great little MOC!
