  1. I find it a bit bizarre that the images are so small and heavily compressed, when they came directly from LEGO's cache... Is this common? I love the sets, but it'd be nice to get a better look at them.
  2. Anyone else really hoping that TLG will reveal some SW sets at NYCC? The Nexo Knights hype is great and all, but I need my SW fix.
  3. Would anyone be interested in seeing comparisons between the Imperial Shuttle Tydirium and Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle? I don't think either will fit in my current lightbox setup, but I bet I can figure something out.
  4. Finally got around to purchasing 8096 Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle on Bricklink. I know it's not much of a relevant set anymore, but I have some modifications planned for it to bring it up to speed with more recent shuttles. I'll be adding a loading ramp, among other things. Should fit nicely with my Tydirium, as well as Kylo's Shuttle.
  5. That doesn't actually seem so bad when you consider how small the last carbon freezing chamber we got was. I'm guessing that a few people will be disappointed with the size of the new set, but it seems fine to me. Serviceable, if nothing else. The idea of buying two and combining them is pretty good.
  6. Yep, we'll see them on Monday. The Nexo Knights and Creator prelims have already leaked, as well as some of the Bionicle ones. Can't wait to see the Star Wars ones! I doubt we'll see any Force Awakens stuff though, unfortunately.
  7. Thanks for the set descriptions, CM4Sci! It's a little disappointing to hear Carbon Freezing Chamber is small. I was kind of expecting it to be a full octagon, rather than just half of one. Still pretty excited to see what it looks like, though. I'll be picking it up anyway because of the Boba Fett and Ugnaught figures. Other than that, I'm really only interested in the Force Awakens stuff. The Battlefront Battlepacks do sound decent, though.
  8. Out of curiosity, is there a reason you can't post pictures? I know there was a strict embargo for the 2015 sets, but I can't see why that would apply to the 2016 sets.
  9. Depends on who you ask. For me, Kylo Ren's Shuttle is easily the best of the wave. I know others would disagree, though.
  10. Pretty impressive, if you ask me.
  11. According to users on Reddit, Poe's X-Wing has been recalled due to a faulty windscreen mould. Therefore, all current orders have been cancelled. It makes sense, assuming the recall reason is true. It's really unfortunate that so many recent sets are being recalled, especially since LEGO's QA is usually excellent.
  12. Thanks! Initially, the larger gears were intended to be a sort of knob for turning the wings upwards and downwards. Due to the sheer amount of weight that the wings induce, it didn't really work out that way, haha. Still looks cool though. The smaller eight-tooth gears work really well for a locking mechanism, surprisingly.
  13. Well, I've modified Kylo's Shuttle to the best of my ability. BalrogJ's modification was really inspiring, and I tried to take it a step further. It's not perfect, but it'll do for now. It's surprisingly stable, regardless of the position that the wings are in.
  14. Well, looks like he beat me to it. His modification is good though; he's way too hard on himself in the video. I'm still working tirelessly to come up with a more stable and permanent solution. Unfortunately, the bulk of my massive collection is unsorted, so it's difficult to find/try out different pieces.
  15. Just in case anyone's still in denial, it has been 100% confirmed by StarWars.com that the V-Shaped ship in the second teaser is, in fact, Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle. So, my theory was correct all along. Moving on, my Force Friday haul was amazing. Picked up Kylo's Shuttle (obviously), Rey's Speeder, and the First Order Transporter! I was the first one in line, and literally only 10 more people showed up to the midnight launch. It was calm, and everyone got what they wanted. It went SO much better than I had expected. Guess I'll be doing things like that more often.
  16. That is... extremely worrying to say the least. I'll have a heart attack if I can't pick up the sets I've been wanting for months tonight.
  17. Your pictures and video review are awesome, just2good. Thank you!
  18. It's nice to know that they are actually aware that their own products exist. It's $79.99 USD.
  19. That looks absolutely amazing. Can't wait!
  20. Someone already has reviewed it: Granted, it's not a very good review by any means, but it's there.
  21. The LEGO Star Wars website is down at the moment... We could be seeing an overhaul of the site to promote the new sets!
  22. Yep, it's printed! That was confirmed by a user on Reddit who owns the set.
  23. Again, I'd like to reiterate that it wouldn't be a screw-up. It wouldn't even be a minor mistake or oversight. It's an unfortunate and very true reality of releasing toys months before the film is released. In this age, they can tweak and outright change things in the film right up until release. Toy companies do not have the luxury of changing the product halfway through the production stages. If you remember back to when we got the very first leak, it was of the cover of a FINALIZED instruction book. The sets were already finalized, and in the production phase several months ago. So, when the film comes out, we may see quite a few inaccuracies between the toys and what's in the film itself. In an ideal world, everything would be perfectly accurate. But it likely won't be. Whether it's a simple colour, or an entire play feature. And again, I don't really see why it's a problem... anyone with a decent collection of bricks can easily change anything that they don't like. That's what I'll be doing for the funtion of the wings on one set, as well as the colour of the wings on another.
  24. Exactly. This is tied to the point I've been trying to make. We can speculate all we want on the toys right up until December, but that's not really going to make a difference until we see what's in the movie. And, I have a feeling that Disney won't specifically address the confusion over one ship, so I doubt we'll be seeing any marketing material that clarifies that. Like a lot of questions we have about the film itself, we'll just have to wait until we see it for ourselves. To me, it makes absolutely NO sense to have two identical ships, the only difference between them is that the wings fold outwards. Why, exactly, would they design something that way? What is the purpose? I don't doubt that the shuttle exists outside of it belonging to Kylo, (Similar to Palpatine's Lambda-class in ROTJ), but I seriously do doubt that they'd design two identical ships with the only difference being the angle of the wings. It simply does not make sense, which is why I disagree with everyone saying that they're two different ships. Ultimately, we won't know until December 18th. Unfortunate? Sure. But it's going to be a sweet journey.
  25. The thing is, it wouldn't necessarily be TLG's fault if the set was inaccurate. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't really be anyone's 'fault', per se. It's just that the toys come out before the film is even finished, so they had to work off of early concepts. Plus, one of the greatest things about LEGO is that you can change anything that you don't like. Since it's been confirmed that the wings on the set do not fold outwards, I will be modifying it myself to fix that. I suggest you do the same, rather than blaming TLG for making such a "horrible mistake."
