I think that image only further proves my theory that Kylo's Shuttle has gone through a lot of different iterations during the film's development. I'm still convinced that the V-Shaped ship we see in the second teaser is in fact Kylo's. The toys are various degrees of innacurate because they had to produce them from early concept art and info.

Well, my link got censored. I do not "know why." The YouTube link was not taken down by a copyright claim; it was removed by the user. This is censorship. The commercial is official, much like the catalog.
-
I know, that's what I said.... EDIT: The commercial has been taken down from YouTube. If you still need to see it, you can do so *****
-
I absolutely LOVE that commercial. This is exactly the kind of thing that I was talking about when I said that the sets needed more advertising/exposure. Stuff like this will get kids excited for the sets. It even gets me more excited, and I didn't know that was possible!

October Store Calendar, nothing about Echo Base: Larger image: http://i.imgur.com/ZI7wGBV.jpg

There must be some law that states that anyone who obtains these sets early isn't allowed to have a decent camera. Other than the review that we got from Jim Canuck, the pictures/video reviews of these sets so far are garbage.

Well, I mean this in the best way possible: you need to read more carefully. I didn't say that there are no retailers around me that sell LEGO at all, I said that there were no retailers around me who sell LEGO for less than retail price. It's good that you have a local store that will give you 15-20% off of brand new sets, but a lot of us don't even have that option. And like I said, I'm not patient enough to wait 1-2 weeks even if I had a local store like that. I will be lining up as soon as possible in order to buy these sets, because that is the only way that I have a chance to get them.
-
Some of us don't have the patience to wait that long. The uncertainty surrounding the availability of this merchandise is enough to buy it at full retail. Plus, you're in a unique situation. There are literally NO retailers local or otherwise, that sell LEGO sets for cheaper than retail where I live. Side note, the new teaser is awesome, but I hate the fact that it's been uploaded to Instagram as the source. I can count the pixels in Instagram videos; the quality is awful.

It's not really a preorder per se, but I've always been able to call and have them hold any product for me, for 24 hours or so.' As djmangunz said, it's very possible to miss out on the initial stock of sets, and then having to wait a relatively long time to get more. I have no patience to deal with that kind of stuff. Call me entitled, but everyone deserves a chance to own these products at the exact same time, and it does suck that we sometimes have to deal with waiting for them. That's why I love midnight releases. No waiting, you just get to buy your product, go home, and have fun with it.
-
Well, I do happen to live in a relatively large city, so that's probably where my point of concern is coming from. In my experience, new sets are not easy to find when they're first released, simply because everyone buys them all. I didn't realize that LEGO was so popular in my area until I had to start reserving copies of new sets in order to get them in a timely manner.
-
That was one of my concerns as well. The most recent thing I have to compare it to is that the Scooby-Doo sets sold out in less than 8 hours after they were released. They were sold out on every website that I checked, and I was lucky enough to find the very last one at my local Target. Crazy. If that can happen for Scooby-Doo sets, it can happen three times as fast for Star Wars. One of the only reasons I will be attending the midnight launch is because I feel like I absolutely have to in order to obtain the sets. I don't feel like waiting one month until they're back in stock. I'm really hoping that TLG has produced enough of these sets to satisfy the astronomical demand for Force Awakens products, but the unfortunate reality is that we won't know until September 4th or soon thereafter.
-
You cannot definitively say that it is two different ships. Is it possible? Sure. But it's also possible that my theory is correct. And the truth is, we aren't likely to find out until the film is released.
-
I've already adressed this. ^ No offense, but you really should read through the recent posts in the thread before posting.
-
Correct. I posted this a couple of pages back. I just may be crazy enough to stay up for 18 hours straight to watch the entire livestream, even though I've seen all of the products that I wish to.
-
I still don't think that they are two different ships. TLG very likely had to work off of early concept art and info. I'm guessing that the ship was changed sometime during the film's development, but it was too late for TLG to change their design; the set had likely already been finalized and had gone into production. If you remember, the first leaked image that we recieved was in fact the cover of the instructions for Kylo's Shuttle, then only known as the "Lead Villain Vehicle." This was just a little while after the second teaser had debuted. EDIT: The real final nail in the coffin. Looks like one of us is going to have to come up with a way to modify the set. I'll be purchasing the set at midnight, so I'll give it a shot!
-
Well, looks like I'll be heavily modifying the set if the wings really don't fold down. We already knew that they extended upwards. Still, I'd like a definitive answer from one of the few people who own this set. Why do they seem so incompetent? The review did mention that the wings fold down. I'm guessing it's just bad wording on their part, but still misleading.
-
Personally, I think all of these sets look fantastic. I was just pointing out that the review itself was boring to me. The pictures aren't that great, and neither is the commentary. I guess I was expecting more based on how much they hyped up the review on Twitter and Reddit.
-
http://www.geekster.be/lego-kylo-rens-command-shuttle-review-2/ According to Geekster on Twitter and Reddit, this review is officially endorsed by TLG, so hopefully it's okay to post here. The review itself is pretty lackluster, if I'm honest. Bizarre complaints and things like that.
-
I know which picture you're talking about. I found it on Instagram and posted it to Reddit, from there I'm guessing it's spread to other sites. It's not a tease for a review, just an Instagram pic from someone who has the set early.
-
Wow, you REALLY misunderstood my post. Calm down. I was just giving advice to anyone who wanted to avoid spoilers. It's not "arrogance" as you claim, it's simply being realistic. Considering character names and the color of a vehicle to be a spoiler is fine, but expecting the entire internet to bend to that definition of a spoiler is unrealistic and will only hurt the one who doesn't wish to be spoiled. Have you seen me openly talking about story spoilers on this thread? No. So I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't treat me as if I've spoiled the end of the movie, which one user actually did. As benderisgreat said, this doesn't need to turn into an argument. Seriously, let's just be realistic here. In the age of the internet, minor spoilers for a film are practically unavoidable. ESPECIALLY when you're in a thread regarding leaked/rumored merchandise for said film. Myself, and a lot of other users are rational people, and we know better than to discuss major plot points of the film. But expecting people to not talk about the color of a ship is insane, especially when we're discussing merchandise that pertains to said ship. I'd prefer a straight discussion to all this sneakin' around.
-
Those arrows can be seen on the back of the box, as well. If you check some of my older posts, I've been an advocate of that theory for awhile. Glad someone is seeing the same thing that I am. I still hope that the wings fold out, just like in the second teaser.

It can be downloaded, much like everything else. Every modern browser that has a .PDF viewer will also have a button to download it. If the cat wasn't out of the bag before, it certainly is now. While I do respect that Eurobricks still has to stick to the rules of the embargo, I don't understand why there's STILL an embargo in the first place. It's done. Everyone will see these sets one way or another before September 4th, and that's a GOOD thing. Even StarWars.com will be revealing the merchandise before the 4th.
-
I mean absolutely no disrespect by this, but if you consider those things to be spoilers, then you should probably "go dark." so to speak. I admire your dedication of trying to completely avoid knowing anything, but there's already a ton of information floating around out there. It's only going to get harder and harder to avoid information about this film, especially during/after September 4th. The internet has no regard for the things that individuals consider to be spoilers. Whether it be in the YouTube comment section or on a major news site, people will be talking about this film everywhere as we get closer to December. You'll also hear people talking about it openly in public. I don't deem anyone capable of avoiding all of that.

http://www.starwars.com/news/the-force-awakens-around-the-world-star-wars-fans-invited-to-join-global-event-on-youtube Evidently this was their marketing strategy all along. This is a fine way to reveal the merchandise, I suppose. But the question becomes... why didn't they do this a few weeks ago? Where's the hype?
-
That was one of my worries, as well. It's one thing with the leaks we were getting before, where people were actually stealing Force Awakens minifigures from the factory and selling them... but the catalogue, as well as the "official" images that we got from the online Swiss retailer is something different. The cat is out of the bag, so to speak. One would think that the embargo would be lifted by now, but it's not... One thing I will reiterate, and I've been saying this for a long time: all of this could've been prevented if they had just done a pre-emptive reveal at one of the various events that happened over the last few months. Star Wars Celebration, San Diego Comic Con, and D23 Expo. I still do not understand what their reasoning is trying to hide these products from consumers. The idea of surprise does not bode well in the age of the internet. In some cases, leaking out products is a valid marketing strategy. It's happened in film marketing, for example. But honestly... you just seem really paranoid. There is evidence that NONE of this was planned. YouTubers like SolidBrixStudios have been hit with copyright takedowns on any video pertaining to the leaks. Users all over the internet have been asked nicely to stop spreading leaks, but some were hit with cease & desist letters. (The C&D letters were from Hasbro specifically.) Neither TLG, Hasbro, or Disney wanted this to happen. Their marketing "strategy" appears to be trying to hide the product until September 4th, so that they can "surprise" everyone. I've never seen something so ridiculous. "Yes, I know! We'll expect customers to spend hundreds of dollars at a massive midnight release, but we won't actually show them what the product looks like! And if anyone shares leaked images, they'll be in legal trouble! How could that possibly cause unrest?"
