  1. I would think City/Pirate collectors look at Star Wars sets and feel the same way. Overpriced piece count and usually boring builds(most ships have 2x builds). TS3 and Cars are for a younger audience; so easier builds and more accurate minifigs since they'll be the focus of the set.
  2. Another medical droid? There was only one 2-1B medical droid, he's shown multiple times but it's always the same droid. I encourage you to build FX-7 though, you can probably build one better than I did.
  3. Swoop bikes featured prominently in Shadows of the Empire. Anakin is on one in Episode II, which is probably why they're including one.
  4. I'd like a dewback of course, but I'd rather they just kick the swoop out and lower the price. It's not even in the OT, it's a pointless addition.
  5. My Home One set is sadly missing "Prune Face". It's like, what's the point of having this set without him? I also have Jabba's Sail Barge but no "Yak Face"! Stop dropping the ball TLG!
  6. I apologize if this has already been answered, but does anyone know the width and height(without the stand) of the completed model? Length is nice but the other two are important for display purposes.
  7. It's smart business to release large sets in the summer wave so that kids will buy it come Christmas time. Releasing a large set in January means some kids would have to wait a whole year...by that time they'll likely move on to something newer. The planets are new but still fall in line with January prices and are low cost, low risk.
  8. The last placeholder was for the Gold Leader Y-wing I thought. No way we'll be getting any large sets till the summer wave as that's how TLG operates.
  9. You're dismantling it? But it's such a wonderful display ship!
  10. If CW didn't exist the SW line might have stopped. CW is keeping SW relevant for young kids. With the movies being rereleased CW is less important, but it is useful for that reason alone.
  11. As with my previous Hoth MOC, this is again limited to a 4 ft. by 1 ft. space and is about incorporating the TLG sets. This display uses the following sets: - 8038 Battle of Endor (2) - 7956 Ewok Attack (3) Extra pieces include grass pieces, green plates, and assorted brown pieces. The goal was to capture both Paploo's bike theft and the Rebel's initial takeover of the shield bunker. The tree is cut short, I'll explain why later. "I'm afraid our furry companion has gone and done something rather rash." - C3P0. The bikes are sitting on transparent pieces and can be picked up if needed. A lot of the tree pieces were from Ewok Attack, which was great for tree parts but not a very tall tree. Still needed a lot of extra brown pieces to get this height though. The AT-ST's are free from other pieces to be easily moved and reoriented. Threepio and Artoo can do nothing to stop the legion of Empire troops. Luckily, Wicket went to get help. I increased the size of the bunker, made it a tad longer. A couple overhead shots. It's too bad I have to repeat Ewok's, but with only 5 different kinds it's inevitable. And here it is on the shelf. Now you see why the tree height cut off, that's as tall as I can make it. I plan on adding a forest background poster/painting when I finish the other shelves. Hope you all like it.
  12. No way to tell, it's already lasted longer than a normal set. I want to say they'll build a Genosis Arena or Cloud City to replace it next year, but no way to know. I'd try to pick one up during any pre-Christmas sales.
  13. Excellent review. While a bit overpriced, I think that for a System set TLG did a great job. In many respects its better than the older UCS version. This is an iconic ship they may never make again; pick it up while you can.
  14. How much are you paying for C-3P0 and the stormtrooper? You could buy Lukes Landspeeder to get Threepio and a stormtrooper, plus some extra figures and a classic Tatooine vehicle
  15. Age: Eurobricks is a site intended for an adult audience, which for the purpose of these guidelines are people of around the age of 18 or greater. We reserve the right to ban anyone who does not meet that requirement. Posting that you are not an adult (hint hint) is a quick way to be banned.
  16. The Death Star is the best build there is by far. If you want something cheaper then the Tantive IV or Falcon are both good choices.
  17. I don't get the Ugly in SPUD. Sorry, but I feel a specially-made piece with printing is going to look better than a non-printed one or brick-building the same part. I encourage their usage in MOC's because they look better, assuming the scale fits the piece and the piece was designed correctly.
  18. It's California, and yes, there were more than just Sequoias on Endor. I do like the tree, but feel some variety of different leaves on the ground would help.
  19. Looking at the tracks on the ground it probably moves Anakin's pod forward and then back again.
  20. What makes you think that?
  21. The Target display, while cool, is not really a set. It's a display set you aren't supposed to own; Target is supposed to send them back or destroy them. Owning one is like owning a stolen good. That said, because of this it's extremely rare to have one. I'd make sure she'd want to own it though before you buy it just because it's questionable to own it.
  22. Nice review of a pretty good set. I think your translator messed up though, you described Jar-Jar as a "wonderful" character when surely you meant a "much hated, annoying, awful" character.
  23. I don't think anyone has ever complained that a ship was ugly because it was too accurate. If they get it right it's awesome, and if they get it wrong it's "bloo bloo my accuracy, this is ugly". However, I'm just glad were getting a SSD, and can ignore the accuracy complaints. If I decide I hate something on it I'll just modify it.
  24. True, but I think a review is improved with knowledge of the source material when it comes to judging how TLG did with accuracy and the figures included.
  25. The title is just referring to your excellent job on Sebulba's pod racer.
