  1. Thanks guys! Haha, yes, but this way Octan can't say that MANTIS is destroying all of their equipment, now they have to use the word most!
  2. Location: E01 Donwarr Tags: MANTIS, spying Double D's log 34: This week's mission was simple, and kind of hilarious. Octan had lots of small surveillance cameras in a certain sector on Donwarr. My mission was go to with Wheelie and stall their cameras and then paint them in MANTIS colors. A few hours later when Octan recruits came to check on them, they thought that we replaced all of their cameras with MANTIS ones, so they actually destroyed their own equipment! It was so much fun to watch, and it was actually kind of nice to have a more relaxed mission. ~ DD out
  3. 212 credits to SpacerSteve please (or whatever he needs to get to 1600 credits after woofmcmoose and Big Sal's transactions are complete)
  4. Woah, this is a beast! Super cool shaping, and the cockpit and thrusters are a bonus! Great work!
  5. Cool vigs here, and the speeder is fantastic!
  6. Wow, you always have super cool vehicles! Super cool alien creatures. Very nice integration of the Octan water extractor.
  7. Ooh, that's a nice MANTIS speeder! Great design! Love the layout of this too. Excellent!
  8. Ooh, I like the blue light shots! Sweet vehicle too!
  9. Perfect use of those new mace pieces! The explosion effect is ace!
  10. Thanks for the feedback! I had a lot of fun with the lighting. The wires were fun too. Yes, it's net-like thing with a Maglite shining through it. The 4x4 plates are just stacked on top of each other. The studs line up pretty easily with without needing to push them down. I had done it before while taking apart other MOCs and always thought they looked like servers since it has that very small gap. I was glad to finally be able to use the idea.
  11. Location: F02, Lesser Drigo Tags: MANTIS, spying, land vehicle Double D's log 33: Upon arriving on Lesser Drigo I was sent into one of Octan's facilities that had many Octan servers. I was given a simulator device to put into one of the Octan servers that would then copy itself onto the system and then copy itself onto any other connected servers in a subtle manor. The key, invisibility. Of course, I had a sweet getaway vehicle, and it's the fastest one yet! ~ DD out
  12. Haha, that's great! Another fantastic story, loved the shot with Big Sal running away. Really nice boat and sub!
  13. Location: E02, Jurin II Tags: MANTIS, spying, water vehicle No Escape by David FNJ, on Flickr Double D's log 32: Well, I think after this week Octan will finally get the message that Jurin II ain't theirs anymore. I followed the new recruits from last week and noticed they were checking a lot of small island equipment. So, I took a team with me and we followed them from a distance. Of course, it wasn't too hard with our spy tech - the stealth technology is fully integrated into many of our vehicles and computer systems. Our watercraft being a type of airship helped too because it is nice and quiet. Once we overheard the Octan recruits say it was "finally, our last stop," we made ourselves known. It was hilarious, they scrambled and ran into each other, making the confiscation of their weapons easy. After sinking their small watercraft, we then proceeded to let them know that we had followed them for the day and hence knew where all of the (unguarded) islands with that type of equipment were. We even let them be first-hand witnesses of what a few MANTIS blasters could do! We left the island and the two recruits on it. We told them we'd be back for them in 32 hours just in case Octan doesn't look for lost employees. ~ DD out ----------------------------------------- One cool feature of the airboat is the bomb-deployment. Just push down on one of the engine-looking things, and a bomb drops. The bomb is held in place quite well.
  14. Such a cool layout! Great job on those vehicles, and the building details are awesome!
  15. Super cool skimmer! The sail is great, and the two side engines are fantastic!
  16. That's really nice! Great job on the landscape and mixing in the building with the rocks. Sweet speeder too!
  17. Location: E02, Jurin II Tags: MANTIS, spying, land vehicle Spying in the Lab Ruins by David FNJ, on Flickr Double D’s log 31: I was continuing my main mission about make things difficult for Octan, but this part of the mission was more subtle than last week's. Ocean seemed to be moving its weapons around the planet, and I was to find out where such weapons were being moved to, and why. I came across an inexperienced bunch who were leading a small automatic cannon that used Octan maps and sensors to move and fire at targets. Ha, obviously their scanners aren’t that great when trying to find MANTIS spies. I followed the presumed new Octan recruits through the ruins of a MANTIS lab that was destroyed when Octan first took Jurin II many months beforehand. It provided nice cover, and even creeped out the Octan recruits! “I feel like we’re being watched” “I know the feeling, but it’s by Octan satellites, so we’re safe…” “But MANTIS agents are everywhere!” “I haven’t seen any, have you?” “No, and that’s what worries me! We’ve never seen one, and they’ve slowed our operations down more than we expected!” “Well, if everyone does his part and brings our weapons to the more fortified locations instead of trying to mine in many places on the planet, not even the MANTIS spies will be able to stop our advance. Plus, our fleet is waiting on E01 for when we finally take back this planet from those bugs.” “But what if we don’t get all of our weapons back to the fortified mining facilities? Our fleet can’t penetrate this system until we have a secure place to let them land!” *scratching noises* “Um…wait! Did you hear that?” “Stop teasing me!” “No, for real this time!” I fired up an old generator that sent an eerie hum throughout the ruins, and the sound could not be traced back because the noise bounced off of the broken walls and equipment in every which direction. *eerie humming noises* “Let’s hurry and get out of here! It’s said the ghost of Big Sal lives in these ruins!” “Really?!” *CRASH* “RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" It’s too late Octan, it’s too late. ~ DD out Set remake of Shipwreck Defense for MANTIS pirate week! I expanded on the ruins a bit to make it more interesting. http://brickset.com/...ipwreck-Defence
  18. I laughed so hard reading the story! So good. The builds are great too! Very nice set remake, and the Octan lab was awesome!
  19. Awesome job! Really like the laser shots! Very nice ship designs as well.
  20. Location: E02, Jurin II Tags: MANTIS, spying Double D's log 30: With Octan's Fleet safely at bay, I was sent to cause some setbacks for Octan who thinks it can out-smart MANTIS and push into its newfound territory. I made defiant paths of foliage destruction and toppled Octan communication towers. Any guards were temporarily immobilized by my shock gun, and when they awake a few hours later, they will find their equipment destroyed. Share the Awesomnium planets. Okay, let's do that. Guess Jurin II wasn't part of the plan, and now Octan has declared open war on MANTIS. Let them come, let them try, let them see the power of MANTIS. Sure, I was outnumbered this mission, but that's no matter, MANTIS has the best spies around, and our new tech makes us more deadly than ever. Our cloaking devices are strong, and I can practically walk up to an Octan tower without being picked up by their radars. ~ DD out
  21. Congrats Epsilon!
  22. Location: F03 Forring Tags: MANTIS, spying, land vehicle Double D's log 29: Well, the first few spying school lectures were as boring as Professor Bland's monotone speech. The only thing good that came out of it so far was the opportunity to test out some more new vehicles! I called first dibs Unfortunately we aren't up to the big stuff yet, and I was assigned to go with a hover vehicle. I picked the fastest one. The tank was sort of like a tank, but it had less armor and a lot more speed. It's great for just running through some outdoor facility and blowing up a bunch of random equipment. Okay, it doesn't really explode stuff, because this weapon melts away (by this green fire stuff) what it hits because it fires a gooey substance with laser-cannon accuracy. Overall it takes longer to destroy something, but it does more damage because the goo seeps deep into the equipment. I was lucky enough to be sent on a real mission on Forring. The Lazer-Goo Hover Tank did its job well! Why it's spelled with a 'Z' is because it's not a real laser, so they went with the z when making the name. ~DD out
  23. Wow that is really cool! Love your collection of the sig figs! That's just boss. Great story too, gotta love using larvae to get everyone there
  24. That's one awesome radar! Great story too, and those experimental shots look cool! It always looks better in real life, but still cool in pictures nonetheless.
  25. Sweet mech, and I like those trees!
