My dark ages started around the time of 8480 and 8880, only coming back earlier this year with 42009 so I regret all the sets i missed inbetween times. I would like to go back and buy some of sets I missed, however the prices for old sets, new or used is just ridicules, there seem to be people out there whose appear to just buy the sets to store and then make monney out of the genuine fan at some later date, sorry just my gripe.

They are definitely easier to build now they include a brick separator in the box. No 1 for me, 21020 Trevi Fountain purely because I used to walk past it every day going to and from work, and it reminds me of those days.

I liked the flex system, and still have several models using the flex system (that survived my dark ages) on display. Knowing how Lego like to reinvent previous ideas (ie recent revamp of the pnuematics) they may well bring them back at some stage.

Cats love Lego, I keep a bucket of old stuff for them to play with that way they leave my Technic alone. Half way through the build at the moment, frustrated by lack of time to actually work on it.
