  1. Great job! And a very creative way to introduce the plantation! Now i am in the process of learning to build agricultural themes and i am greatly influenced by your plantation :)
  2. Sooo, our opponents are getting fatter...Muhahahaha!
  3. Thanks for your comments guys :-) The brown "things" by the palm trees are fallen barks :) The beach is supposedly wide on purpose. I wanted to show the vastness/lonelyness of the last dying mariner by the bottle. Only drawback is the height difference, result of my lack of tan plates :) Lighting is definitely bad :-( Gideon, i prefer dark reality too, so no unicorns from me :-P
  4. My thoughts exactly :)
  5. Not everybody can make it at the seas of the New World... Thanks for viewing P.S: My camera and photographing skills suck big time!
  6. The more the merrier! Nice story-writing people :)
  7. I love all the details :) Oh, and happy new year btw!
  8. Really nice review of a well aged set :)
  9. Lovely (in a strange way) intro! And a nice asian flavor for a change. Pity to the Corries indeed, they are so few :P
  10. Already eager for the next chapter...
  11. Nice story and moc :-) and directly to the spirit of BoBS! i always love fictional pirate stories :-)
  12. You both press fast forward around 450-500 years from where you currently are and you have arrived! :P Welcome!
  13. A nice agile ship you have there Mr Townsend! Let's load her up with muskets and go raid some Corries! :)
  14. As Maxim wrote, do get one of those two accounts. And (hint) you can find many MANY great MOCs around there.
  15. Excellent as always :)
  16. Very nice tree, sleigh and pretty much everything :) Trans clear rule!!!
  17. Thanks guys for your kind words! The idea was in my head a couple of days before we begin BoBS, as at this universe/time, many wealthy people commissioned painters to "immortalize" them through art. Now that i think of it maybe Colonization by Sid Meier and a painting of Napoleon played some role in this :) At first i thought it would be a lame free-build, being more of a vignette rather than an actual free build (especially by looking at other fantastic free-builds) but time is a bit pressing these days so i gave it a go. @SkaForHire: I can make more painting-vignettes relating to big events (e.g. land discovery etc) or important people (providing that i have the necessary minifig parts ofc) here at BoBS if you want me to, with a matching background each time. Just "commission" me when the time comes. It would be an honor. @Garmadon: Alas in order to photograph this MOC, i had to wait till morning, then take it to my balcony and after 656463 photos, this one was the best (so to speak). The most difficult thing to do while photographing it was to capture the light at the background too because the fig shadowed it :( I had to unearth an old Samsung with a broken glass in order to photograph it as Moto G doesn't have a decent camera. What can i say, LEGO bricks get the best of my salary :P
  18. An easy way to, say, "circumvent" this situation in my book, is to get one of your loyal subjects to work in one of your enterprises and do the trading for you.
  19. Nice bar! And that dragon-cocktail is fantastic!!
  20. I see we start strongly with these free-builds! Very nice hub of activity and lovely selection of minifigs. As others commented, that left house is really nice. Reminds me of a real merchant house in Prague (who's wife was cheating on him while abroad or something )
  21. Excellent rockwork and water. I bet activity like this is all too common at merchant-ruled...ehm..King ruled Eslandola...

  23. Hugo's father was the famous general Hermol d' Offren, with a huge painting of his still adjourning their nearly dilapidated cottage back home. Hermol was among king's most capable generals when one acute disagreement with a wealthier aristocrat threw him out of favor rather quickly.
  24. Hugo d' Offren, petty officer at his majesty royal navy Coming from an old but poor aristocratic bloodline of Oleon. His father was the famous general Hermol d' Offren, whose huge painting still adjourns their nearly dilapidated cottage back home. Hermol was among king's most capable generals when one acute disagreement with a wealthier aristocrat threw him out of favor rather quickly. At present, the family's farm and a partial kinship to the now imposing Oleon hero Frédéric Coutart, on his mother side, is all what keeps family afloat. Oh, these and a dashing act of courage from young Hugo when he commandeered a fire ship destined to hit "Glory of Oleon" and guided it back to a Corrington's squadron. Ah, war...war never changes... Now our hero, eager to clean his family name and with another hidden agenta deep in his heart, is anxiously awaiting for his next assignment on a ship destined to the unknown east.
  25. A nice ship with a good color pattern and a sturdy look! As a bluecoat, i rest safe with ships like that protecting our seas. Give us more pictures when able!
