  2. I can provide the sweetest musak for you to dance by my lady. My humblest greetings everyone, I am Pedram, travelling minstrel, bard and adventurer and provider of the most harmonious of songs and lullabies of all Persia! I must admit, these Nizam rumours are unsettling but as we go about our adventure let us not want for the comfort of fine music to wile away those twilight nights by the warm glow of a campfire.
  3. It's clearly dark orange...
  4. Jedi Master DarkFang versus Jedi Master Squidsaber... winner: DarkFang. Round 2 DarkFang | 3 Squidsaber | 2 Parry - 0 Parry - 0 High - 1 Sabre Flurry / High - 0 Force Push - 1 Parry - 0 Low - 1 Mid - 0 Sabre Flurry / Mid - 0 Sabre Throw - 1 Health: 2 Health: 0 With his opponent injured, DarkFang keeps up the pressure, forcing Squidsaber back with his powers and heavy 'sabre strikes. Squidsaber manages to surprise DarkFang, throwing his lightsabre, but it only serves to distract him as he must accept his defeat and escape. DarkFang wins the duel! But no doubt Squidsaber will return... Well done WhiteFang! Unlucky CMP, but you both have 2 more duels against each other to decide who goes through to Stage III. Send your Duel Sequence for your second duel whenever you're ready.
  5. Thanks guys! And Oky - I think I'm actually going to do that.
  6. I've bought Arealight's customs for a long time and I've never been disappointed. Many of them I've used in MOCs I've shown on Eurobricks. These new visors look great in there range of colours. The fact they fit official phase one clones means I'll most likely be ordering some when I next buy from Arealight. It seems that they've ramped up their production in a big way, so a $1.00 proce tag seems a bit steep for somethig that is most likely mass produced now. Oh well... needs must!
  7. Jedi Master Jim Butcher versus Sith Lord Darth Magma... winner Darth Magma. Round 3 Jim Butcher | 3 Darth Magma | 4 Parry - 0 Sabre Flurry / High - 0 Force Push - 0 Force Push - 0 Sabre Throw - 0 Parry - 0 Low - 0 Force Lightning - 1 Mid - 0 Parry - 0 Health: 2 Health: 4 Jedi Master Butcher's injuries have left him prone! As he fights off the Sith Lord's attacks, Magma sees his opening, scourging the Jedi Master with forks of lightning. Jim realises he cannot win this fight today, distracting the Sith and making his escape. Darth Magma stands victorious... for now! Well done General Magma! Unlucky Jim, but you both have 2 more duels against each other to decide who goes through to Stage III. Whenever you're ready you can send your Duel Sequences to begin your second duel.
  8. Ah, cool! I've never actually been there. You learn a new thing everyday! Woah! That's some slick software you've got running on your Mac! I didn't even know there was a Blade Runner style "Enhance!" mode! Thanks for the extra pics, it's nice to see those all extra details. The satellite is very cool, I love those panels, and it's good to see both Astronauts have a place in the cockpit - just! That booster is looking even more dark orange to me now, it looks great in that colour. That puts this set at a very reasonable price point. I'm laying off Star Wars purchases for a bit so might very well invest in this.
  9. We've definately got some closet comedians amongst us! My entries: 1 | "It was clear that Tamina's friends had completely misunderstood B.Y.O.B. on the party invites." 2 | "Dastan: he gets all the birds..."
  10. Jedi Master Jim Butcher versus Sith Lord Darth Magma... Round 2 Jim Butcher | 6 Darth Magma | 5 Force Push - 0 Force Push - 0 Sabre Throw - 1 High - 0 Mid - 0 Sabre Flurry / Low - 2 Parry - 0 Parry - 0 Low - 0 Force Lightning- 1 Health: 3 Health: 4 The stalemate is broken! Darth Magma injures the Jedi Master will a fierocious low attack; but he doesn't go unscathed and is struck Jim's flying 'sabre. Jim's endurance has held out but can it continue as the Sith Lord readies for the next assault? Whenever you're ready, send your Duel Sequence for round 3.
  11. Thanks for the review Svelte. Living in the UK it's also unlikely that this set, along with any other Brickmaster sets will make it into my hands. There'll always be eBay, but as you've demonstrated it is pretty easy for us non-US people to build our own. That aside, I think this is a charming little set with some of those great new parts/colours/accessories. I wouldn't be disappointed with this turning up on my doorstep!
  12. Damn, this new space shuttle is really nice! Sleek, clean lines, nice details and good parts choices and colours; I especially love the use of dark orange for the main booster (100% in agreeance with Svelte on colour there). The new astronaut minifigs are great too. The platform is a little sparse but the main emphasis has obviouly been placed on the shuttle itself and to keep it within it's set price. I really like the way they've given it it's own identity in the name Adventure too. It really fits in well with that spirit of both space exploration and LEGO. Thanks for the photos lads. Keen to see more views/interior. EDIT: While we wait for new pictures I thought I'd roate the photo and see whatit looked like set at a different angle without straining my neck! Obviously the base is still present but it's still very interesting to look at: Picture links to extra large image.
  13. Thanks for sharing this great review with us WhiteFang. These new minifgs are so sexy/cute/cool! Your nice photos, appraisal and your informative analysis shows us exactly what we can expect and it won't be disappointment! I was curious as to how randomly the bags would be packed and it's nice to see there is a fair distribution in every box. I'll almost assured to pick up a box of these.
  14. Thanks for the review! This sets a great way to add Plo Koon (and R7-F5) to your collection. I like the way the pattern has been achieved but this really should have been dark blue and white - that's the colour Plo's fighter is! Ach well, I'm lucky enought to own Plo already so might have to give this one a miss unless i can snare it at a bargain.
  15. Mmmm, I'd like a nice warm bath... oh, wait...
  16. Jedi Master Jim Butcher versus Sith Lord Darth Magma... Round 1 Jim Butcher | 6 Darth Magma | 5 Sabre Throw - 0 Parry - 0 Force Push - 0 Force Lightning - 0 Low - 0 Parry - 0 Parry - 0 Sabre Flurry / Low - 0 High - 0 Force Push - 0 Health: 6 Health: 5 Sith Lord and Jedi Master clash! The flash of sabres and forks of lightning silhouette these great warriors as they duel. Their levels of mastery seem evely matched as either gains any ground on his adversary... Duel Sequence for round 2 whenever you're ready.
  17. Jedi Master DarkFang versus Jedi Master Squidsaber... Round 1 Darkfang | 5 Squidsaber | 6 Mid - 0 Low - 1 Sabre Flurry / Mid - 2 Sabre Flurry / High - 0 Force Push - 1 Parry - 0 Low - 0 Sabre Throw - 1 Mid - 1 High - 0 Health: 3 Health: 2 Stage II of the tournament opens with nothing short of an epic first round! The Jedi Masters throw all they can at each other: lightsabers wielded with deadly skill, Force powers with deadly effect. Each of the Jedi are bloodied, Squidsaber especially sustaining an enormous amount of damage! DarkFang may have the upper hand, but the duel isn't over yet... Duel Sequence for round 2 whenever you're ready.
  18. The best fake camel ever, an entrancing snake charmer, a sexy Persian dancing girl... a crab with a hookah (!)... to mention but a few. So many delightful avatars! But Penguin's Great Vizier Pingvin wins the day for me with his luxurious attire and fanciful staff! ...that and he payed me 50 sigloi to play sweet, sweet musak for his fine and plentiful harem!
  19. Click above to see Stage II unfold!
  20. Many have risen to the challenge. Many have failed. Those who go on now face an even tougher challenge: dueling adversaries proven in battle, reknown for their combat skills and possessing an array of powerful abilities... Darth Magma - General Magma [i**II**III] Jim Butcher - Jim Butcher [i**II--] Lothar - csimian [i**II*--] Lord Dar'vole'e - Filip Skywalker [i**II-**III] Squidsaber - CallMePie [i**II--] DarkFang - WhiteFang [i**II**III] Eskallon - Eskallon [i**II**III] Ber'gin'yon Torg'h - Walter Kovacs [i**II--] Welcome to Stage II of The Chosen One Tournament! R U L E S Full tournament rules can be found in the Stage I thread linked below with the following changes: Players should feel free to ask questions, discuss or congratulate in this thread pertaining to this stage of the tournament. RULE ALTERATION - Sabre Master I've decided to alter the Sabre Master to fully encompass the Force Push ability and make the ability's title more relevant. The previous rule read like this: • Sabre Master - Unparalleled with the lightsaber, attack counters cause 1 damage to opponent. Attacks affected are: High, Mid, Low, Kick, Sabre Throw, Force Lightning and Sabre Flurry. Passive. Note: Because of the defensive nature of Parry, Force Push, Force Shield and Force Choke (and the fact that this ability primarily affects attacks) these are not affected by Sabre Master. And will now read like this: • Combat Master - An expert in close combat, attack counters cause 1 damage to opponent. Attacks affected are: High, Mid, Low, Kick, Force Push, Sabre Throw, Force Lightning and Sabre Flurry. Passive. Note: Defensive abilities and actions: Parry, Force Shield and Force Choke, are not affected by Combat Master. Once you're ready to duel, PM me your duel sequence or find a willing adjudicator! R E F E R E N C E Stage I - Includes tournament rules. Introduction and Discussion - Jedi Duel rules, Q&A. Character Databank - Post your Jedi and Sith characters here. Dueling Thread - Where the non-tournament duels take place. Jedi Duel Action & Ability Reference Table P R I Z E S The Chosen One will not only gain acclaim throughout the galaxy, earning them the honour of adding ‘The Chosen One’ to their character profile, but they will also get to choose a prize from the following: Captain Rex minifig - MINT from my own collection with sealed accessories bag. 8084 Snowtrooper Army Pack - MISB -OR- 8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack - MISB Fortunately for the valiant runner-up, they’ll receive whichever prize the Chosen One does not choose! May The Force Be With You... and kick some @$$!
  21. Hmmm, maybe an enchanting melody from my lute will lure this Nizam out of hiding? Sign me up please!
  22. Just posted my entry for the Persian Version: Karaban ~ The Sand-cloud City! Great entries in all categories so far: I really like the Persian Version of Lavatraz, Cameltraz. really fun entry there, right down to the juicer! Nice work Dunjohn. brickzone, your Waterfront Abduction looks like it could be an actual LEGO set with some cool modular construction and modularity. ISC you never fail to please with your originalty... your UCS Sands of Time Hourglass no doubt would make an excellent talking point at any cocktail party - or ineed any other social occasion! Pulled some cool construction techniques there as always. Well done everyone who's entered so far. Can't wait to see what other entries the desert winds will bring!
  23. Karaban ~ The Sand-cloud City I decided to Persian-ify the classic Star Wars 10123 Cloud City playset and created... Karaban! The doomed city of Karaban: swallowed by a sand-storm of epic proportions and left buried for an age. It has risen again only to be populated by the darkest, most evil beings in all of Persia! Click image for LARGE version. Like it's Star Wars counterpart, Karaban is modular and comprise of multiple parts: Karaban Courtyard, Karaban Fire Chamber, Karaban Caverns, Nizam's Altar... and an area of desert outside. This suits the feel of the Prince of Persia games being divided into levels! Most play-features found in Cloud City have found their counterpart in Karaban. Here, Dastan and Tamina's adventures take hem to the courtyard of the mysterious Karaban, where they find themselves surprised by the sudden disappearance of their guide. But alas! The Hassassin have already ambushed him, dragging him to the Karaban Fire Chamber, where (with a pull of the skull) he'll fall through the floor and into the fiery lava below. Will Dastan and Tamina meet the same, terrible fate? Click image for Karaban Cavern. Atop an isolated outcrop of rock, Nizam casts his terrible plans, scrying a powerful orb filled with Sands of Time. Only Dastan has the agility to make it through the caverns of Karaban and across the rope-bridge to confront him. Click image to see what happens! Click this link to access the Brickshelf folder with many more pics including exterior. Best of luck to all the entrants!
  24. Not a chance! 3 stages to go and prizes to be awarded! I wanted to give at least a week before starting the next stage; since then home improvement and Prince of Persia month has stalled me posting stage II (you'll see why when I post my contest entries). So worry not! I'll post stage II as soon as I can.
  25. Here I am, entertaining marketplace patrons with my lute, a wink and a smile while my parrot jigs side to side in a merry dance! Any requests are but a single sigloi!
