NBV83 replied to Vorkosigan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Interesting that in EU we get the same gingerbread house promotional, but 5% discount instead of double VIP points, and some sets are further discounted today. -

Oh yeah, you are right. Then there is still hope for another Simpsons set next year. :) Crossing my fingers because this GBHQ set is way too expensive. -

With Marcos Bessa working on this model, I guess this means that there won't be another D2C Simpsons set next year, since he did both the Simpsons house and the Kwik-e-mart. Bugger. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
NBV83 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
As far as I can see, it is only "Temporarily out of stock", but it could be that this is the end for the PS. Can't say that it didn't live long and prosperous. Glad I got one earlier this year. -
Well, here in the land of Lego it costs DKK 1399,- being equal to € 186,50. Now explain that! But I'm getting it anyway

I agree that it would be nice with more designers working on the modular series. The last non-Jamie modular was the Palace Cinema by Astrid, and I find it to be quite nice as well. What happened to her? However, I really do like the cartoonish look of the PR, DO and the BB. Having the laundromat in the BB is just a nice touch, although it kinda makes the model more difficult to display in its entirety. I don't mind the sets being fun and silly. I also would not want to make the BB bigger, as I think it will fit better with the other recent modulars in the original size. One copy of this set will most certainly be on my wish list for 2016.

Looks nice and seems to fit well in height with the DO and PR. Excellent!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Could turn out to be another great Sunday. From the descriptions I personally don't have a clear picture of the set in my head, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the actual pictures. Btw, the money laundry idea is brilliant if it is really in the set. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'm interested to see if the building depicts a certain era like the Detective's office does. -
Well I have the Pet Shop and Palace Cinema just waiting in the basement to be assembled. Can't wait to do it, but I don't have the time at the moment. Probably won't be able to do it until next year, and by then I will most likely have gotten the Parisian Restaurant and Detective's office as well.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
NBV83 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I believe that you are right. Earlier someone posted that the modular would be released around April, and that fits well with the GB Headquarters in January. -
Deli looks Nice. I like the brick built sandwich sign. Seems to be the same size as the toy and grocery shop. Well it does appear to be a corner building, like the next modular according to rumors. Interesting.

Certain Lego themes should be designed with adults in mind!
NBV83 replied to CaptainToad's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think the Architecture sets are primarily targeting adults, possibly to make them an AFOL. -

I guess I'm a bit shell shocked about this set. When I first saw the headline and the piece count, I was really surprised and instantly felt the urge to buy this set. But on the other hand, it better be damn good at that price or have are really nice assortment of bricks. I think I will put my thoughts about it on ice until it is officially revealed. -

That would leave me with sufficient time to get the Parisian Restaurant and the Detectives office without breaking the bank. Excellent! -
The fish market is pretty cool, with the pixelated octopus picture.

The color combination really nails it for me. Excellent work!

Hi all, I've been hording a large amount of railway tracks: partly from my old Lego from the 90's and from the 60051 and 60052 sets. I usually try to be creative when I make a track for my son, but I kinda miss the overview when I do the layout. Do any of you know of a tool, or can you suggest a method, for planning the layout of your railway tracks before lying on your knees on the floor with a big stack of tracks? I'm open for any suggestion

It is kinda funny. I've never really considered buying the WV sets, as I just came back from the dark ages earlier this year. Now that the toy shop is there, I'm really considering buying this set, to supplement my wifes Christmas decorations aorund the house. The kids will love this :-D

I do like the rerelease, as it makes it possible for me to get the set at a reasonable price. Maybe the rehash of the winter village set could could mean, that TLG has put more resources on the new modular, with it being the 10th in the line. One can always dream.

Pretty crowded. :) where did you get the display cases for the Ghostbusters set?

I've got a 3,5 year old son, and I bought the cargo train 60052 last Christmas and he was all into it. He could not build it, but thought that it was really cool to play with together with me. We found my old Lego from when I was a child, including my old trains and he just loves it. Just today I bought the high speed train 60051 (at 35 % discount!) , and I can't wait to show it to him. :-D so no, 4 is not too young at all.
