So meet Henry, King Henry the ninth. Such a good boy that I wanted to make a lego build out of him. Easier said than done! As an English Cream Golden Retriever he has a distinctive look when he has his mouth open, like hes smiling and it was important to capture that look perfectly and I think I nailed it. Next up was the eyes, I struggled here and ultimately settled on using white hub pieces to define the eye space and then went with the black 2x2 round tile with a brown brick structure behind and a little white. These dogs have really dark eyes and the 'eye' tiles really made him look way more cartony than he already is. My fave piece- The Collar, I have been looking for a way to use them in a build and the newer ones that are a narrower width worked perfectly but also allowed a pop of colour that the build needed. I couldn't decide if I was to build him out as a full body or just a bust, I am happy with how he is for now. Thanks for looking, its my first effort at sculpting an animal and was a really enjoyable process, I am welcome to any thoughts for improvements or tips in general on sculpting animals. So Kind thank you. Thanks so much for the response. I certainly see your view on the vines, all the source material I found, the vines cut off right there, maybe Pascal chews them? 😂 However Ill meet you in the middle and may actually add one little vine that creeps up one of the wood pieces 😂. Thanks, I despise tree building! I always say Ill never build another tree THanks, Well I completed a year ago and let it sit and didnt photograph it. But it probably was about 6 months or so on or off building :)

Very sturdy, the technique on the tower is a post in itself. Solid all the way through the middle of the tower then it comes apart and joins via a technic slide in connection. The entire tower alone is 6 sections that support and disperse the weight. Hasn't fallen yet :)

Here are some images of the 6ft Rapunzel tower I have built from scratch from the movie Tangled. As movie accurate as I could get it I tried to make it minifigure scale. The build started with the purple turret, one of the iconic parts of the structure. A year ago, purple lego was not that common in different parts so I have built it out of plates, snot bricks and cheese slopes. It is joined in together by bars and droid arms. The final addition was the hair, I don't think the build could really be complete without the hair and I struggled with a good technique that looked realistic and was to scale, so I built with 1x yellow flowers strung with string. Thank you, it would have been nice if I had built it with minifigs in the horse :) Cheers, thats what I started the build with and scaled around it, imagine my horror when my wife places a plastic bag in front of me containing brown pieces of lego saying my daughters friend had been playing with it...

Nice find. I love Lego Easter eggs...maybe this is an Easter egg showing that the only place to buy the Lego Disney Castle will be in this set, seeing as it is retiring at the end of the year...

Built and displayed for Brickfair ALabama, I built the horse in one evening over Christmas. I knew I needed to frame it nicely so I decided on having it set at the gates of Troy, having been pushed up from the beach by the Trojans. The question is, will they let it in or will they burn it? hmmmmm.....I know what they should do, but we dont always do what we should do, we often get blinded by pretty things with 'no strings attached'. Presenting my first ever Greek build, 'The Trojan Horse'. Next up will be an expansion, but thats going to depend on mini-figure sourcing. I have used only LEGO minifigures to date, but these parts and pieces are not cheap :) Thanks for looking, any criticism or suggestions are always welcome :) Cheers. THanks, the violet in the turrets were completely intentional :) Im not much of a planer, I had built the islands first, then the turret and then the main buildings and then decided to build the castle to go with the tower and make it a castle on an island attached to the land. Thanks so much, I wanted to use the Elves line as a starter and then blend in so I am glad you see it that way. Thank you, I used pintrest ot try to discover some Elven architecture that was not lego made so glad that translated well. Thank you, again, another one of my goals here and glad you can see it in the build. CHeers

Thanks you, I’m glad you and your daughter enjoy :) I have a 9 year old girl and one of my motivations for this type of build when I go to shows is to get the girls asking their parents just that. The first one we displayed at my daughter was 5 and I built a tiny Sleepin beauty moc on a baseplate. It pretty much went un noticed in amongst our Star Wars and Minecraft and knights until about 3pm on a Sunday, a little girl turned up in front of it wearing an Auora dress and told her dad it was her fav and her dad thanked me for havin something that would interest her. Ever since then, and having a little girl also, I’ve made a point to make something that may catch her attention of a girl and maybe get their imagination going. They don’t have to be part of a ‘pink stereotype’ but theee is no denying those colours and themes initially attract girls attention and they may start looking at other ways they can use bricks and people and hopefully I can be an inspiration to their own imaginations. This was the first time I had not bought a big Star Wars build but I could not have been happier with the faces of the kids and grown ups alike :)

I really thought I was being lazy with the roof that way but tons of people liked it, there is something cool about the way they are supported/hang also, I think I show it in the Beyond the Brick video they did
