I got the Captain Marvel set today from Target. It’s actually pretty good. Nick Fury is pretty much perfect and I understand why they didn’t make a new face for him. I still dislike the Carol minifigure, but when I get home from vacation I’ll try putting Spidey’s legs on her and maybe try and find some red and dark blue arms, as well as a longer hairpiece. She really needed a new face, too. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that she actually does come with power blasts, and for some reason they just aren’t advertised on the box. Talos is better in hand, I just wish the headpiece had a little printing. I think it’s the same as Genie’s but I’ll compare it to my Gene figure at home to make sure. The Quinjet build is really awesome and I like it so much that I’m considering buying a second copy of the set. It feels like a $40 build in a $30 set which I really like.

Interesting that the Outriders are back. The armor room set sounds awesome, I hope that means that we’ll get multiple suits in the set. Nice to have a set named after War Machine and I guess that confirms a minifigure for him. The super Quinjet sounds okay. We get a lot of Quinjets but I’m not that mad since I usually like them, and the larger ones are always better anyway. The last set name doesn’t really give any clues but I hope it’s a playset and not a vehicle. Is there any chance of a sixth set, maybe a retailer exclusive?

How do you know he won’t have the Gauntlet? The Thanos figure from the IW sets leaked before the Gauntlet piece did. There’s no rule saying a figure has to leak with all of their accessories included.

The arm printing looks weird considering bigfigs don’t usually have printed arms, and since the print can’t wrap around the arm it doesn’t look very much like armor, more like some thin metal plates he strapped to the sides of his arm and leaving the fronts unprotected. I think part of the problem is the helmet- it looks too round and very unlike the movie version of Thanos.

It’s interesting that at the top of the page the Wizard is Oz logo is also present. I wonder if it’ll be on the packaging like the HP/FB series. I love the Oz characters and all of the new molds! Lucy with her hood is awesome, and I like the suited characters quite a bit. I’m most excited for that post-apocalyptic cat, though!

I don’t like the body on Thanos. The gray/silver doesn’t look good and he needs shoes. I like the arms well enough but it’s strange to have armor on sleeveless arms. I wish they had either made a fully armored or unarmored version instead of continuing this weird half and half idea.

Hulk looks okay. I like the new face and hair but the figure just seems under detailed due to the lack of toe printing and the plain blue pants. Thanos sounds disappointing. If he’s wearing his armor in this movie then he shouldn’t be sleeveless, although I’m happy to hear that he’s got a smile now.

I heard that there’s a new Disney D2C coming. Is there a place to discuss this?

Far From Home.

I don’t think it’s a waste at all, especially since it’s a highly detailed variant from a movie that didn’t get any sets. She’s got a lot of great printing and I love the new face and hair. Definitely not a waste to me.

The leaker has now said it’s not from the Lego Movie 2 D2C. The only other D2C I’ve heard about is a Jurassic World/Park one for the summer and I doubt Suicide Squad Harley Quinn would be in that set. Is it possible that we’re getting a DCEU D2C set??

Except for Black Panther we knew there would be two sets for a while before they leaked. For this movie we’ve only ever heard about one set.

I really wish they’d made a special face for Carol with her eyes lit up. I hope we get a version with her helmet and powers for the A4 sets. Why doesn’t she even come with power blasts or anything in this set?

I like the new box art, especially the large characters on the right side. Captain Marvel looks really good on the box.

I really like it. It’s nostalgic but still new and interesting to me.

I’m kind of disappointed with this set. I like the build, and usually I like the figures, but they’re definitely weak this time. I’m still not a fan of the unprinted headpiece on Talos. Nick Fury looks like he’s reusing Rhodey’s head. Goose seems to be a regular cat print and not new (correct me if I’m wrong). Carol herself is the biggest letdown, because she’ll definitely come in Avengers 4 sets so this was the only chance to get her in the green Kree outfit. I figured we wouldn’t get any Kree minifigures but it’s still disappointing. The lack of leg and arm printing on her really hurts the figure and it’s sad that they didn’t go all out on even one minifigure in this set. The hairpiece doesn’t work well either since her hair is significantly longer than that bob, and the lack of a helmet is also disappointing. I hope we get a more detailed version for the Avengers 4 sets but I’m not holding my breath.

I don’t think the Quidditch set was a surprise, since I seem to remember @Catanas mentioning a “sporty” set long before we got pictures.

I’m pretty sure there was a set number attached. Wasn’t it something like 75955?

I think 4-5 sets per year is a pretty good number. I don’t want the theme to become oversaturated.

That’s what I was told about a month ago at my local store. I’m out of town right now but was able to get to a Barnes and Noble about 30 minutes after they opened, and when I was checking out it looked like I had gotten the second to last set in the store.
