  1. Also (and I'm not entertainment lawyer), I think the bigger concern was that profits from any FF merchandise that was sold would have to be split between Marvel/Disney and Fox, as the distributor. Even if Constantin retains their FF movie option, I don't think that impacts merchandising proceeds.
  2. Considering that Thanos was created as a second-rate knockoff of Darkseid, this would have been the funniest and most appropriate thing Lego could have done!
  3. If it actually goes through (and that's a big if), it certainly won't hurt the chances of that happening.
  4. Is it the same Aquaman from the Fun Pack (71237)? https://www.toysrus.com/buy/lego-dimensions/lego-dimensions-fun-pack-dc-comics-aquaman-1000561492-68635526
  5. It's actually a pretty diabolical scheme - if you only collect the CMF, or if you only buy the Manor, you can't have the full set of FaF minifigs. Lego is extraordinarily good at separating us completists from our dollars...
  6. Hey, if you live in the U.S. and missed out on your Lightning Lad Target Gift Cube, it's back in stock! https://www.thebrickfan.com/target-2015-lego-minifigure-gift-box-5004077-available-again/
  7. I just found out the hard way that, as of October 1st, you can no longer use Toys R' Us rewards toward the purchase of Lego sets. BUT, you can buy Dimensions sets with them, since they're categorized as video games, not Lego. So if you've been saving up the points and haven't yet purchased the Lego Batman Movie Story Pack or the Excalibur Batman Fun Pack, those are your best bet for using your rewards for TLBM sets.
  8. Here's a tip for any of you who, like me, had saved up a bunch of Toys R' Us Rewards for holiday shopping, only to find out that you can no longer use them on Lego: Dimensions sets are considered video games, not Lego sets. So you should be able to still use your Rewards points toward them.
  9. I hope you're right. The novelty of wacky batsuits has worn off for me. Also, it makes it so much harder to feel for the ones you actually want. And now that the keychain is in wider distribution, I'm going to bet five spacebucks that Kiss Kiss Batman shows up in the CMF. I can't think of any other keychains that weren't also traditional minifigs at one point or another.
  10. Sorry to go off-topic, but what's the brand of desk mat that you've got there? Looks like it would be super-handy for quickly estimating element dimensions!
  11. They released FB Dimensions sets, including a $50 story pack. I realize that Dimensions fizzled out, but at the time they were planning these sets and developing the game, they were expecting Dimensions to be a huge hit, and for FB to be a major component of it.
  12. You're totally right. My bad. When I searched for "lego dimensions" on Target.com and sorted by "newest," I didn't see them. But they're there if you search for the character names. I still haven't seen any of the new wave in Target stores though, and I've looked for them in three different Targets in the last couple of weeks. All three Targets, plus my local Toys R' Us, also dramatically reduced the amount of Dimensions shelf space since the beginning of October as well. So I wouldn't gamble that they'll be available all that much longer.
  13. I wouldn't sleep on them, especially the last wave. Amazon and Target aren't even selling them in the U.S.
  14. Cue the chorus of bitter-enders protesting "they didn't OFFICIALLY announce anything!!1!!" RIP Dimensions. You were wildly ambitious and often frustrating, but I'm so glad you happened.
  15. At this point, they'll probably wait until after the holiday shopping season, to give retailers one last opportunity to sell through the rest of their stock. It's kind of lame to take advantage of consumers' ignorance like that, but the moment that they announce that Dimensions is done, sales will plummet even further than they already have. And that would complicate Lego's retailer relationships at a time when they're already seeing some sales slippage. As soon as Disney Infinity announced that it was ending, I saw "buy 1, get 3 free sales" sprout up like mushrooms after a rainstorm. Dimensions will be a slightly different story, because they're still Lego elements, but even a 50% discount just barely gets you to a $0.10 PPC on most of the sets.
  16. By not talking about future waves or promoting anything beyond September, Lego has basically already made their announcement. Retailers are already planning what they'll be buying in 2018, and Dimensions isn't on that list. Even if Lego had every intention of continuing to support Dimensions, retailers are already slashing the prices of the starter kit, because no one's buying the inventory that's already on store shelves. Between now and the end of the year, you're going to see minimum 50% discounts across the board to all of the remaining in-stock inventory in the ramp up to the holidays, because this will be their last chance to unload the product without losing money. Whatever's left will wind up being sold for pennies on the dollar to discount retailers like Ross.
  17. Yeah, I know. And I also know it's more likely that they'll make Spider-Man sets based on the new cartoon. But if we're ever going to get Kang, I'd think that this is our best shot! I agree 100%. It's worth noting that these are all versions of Batman that were created specifically for TLBM. So I'm sure that DC and the estates of Batman's creators get some royalties for the fact that they're Batmans (Batmen?), but the costumes probably make them Lego co-creations, which probably makes them more feasible from a licensing perspective.
  18. Kang won't appear in the MCU until Fox finally admits they can't make a decent Fantastic Four film and makes an agreement with Marvel to partner with them like Sony did for Spider-Man. But if they haven't admitted that so far, I'm not holding my breath. I'm holding out for a comics Lego version of Kang next summer, though. With him being the big bad in Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, it seems like our best chance yet.
  19. Yeah, I'm literally looking at both of them right now, and that's the only difference.
  20. Bricklink calls them two different minifigs, but the only difference is that the Spider Cycle Chase version has the black vine tentacle "backpack," and the Juniors doesn't.
  21. I have no insider info, but I agree. Doesn't it seem like the brick-built villains correspond to movies where the concept art might not be finalized? Ares from WW looks very different in the toys and Lego than he does in the movie. And who knows when Steppenwolf's design was finalized. Seems like DC's cinematic plans are a lot less solid than Marvel's.
  22. Yes, there are enough credible sources indicating that there's something to the rumor that even AB endorsing it doesn't make me doubt it.
  23. That would make it once in a row.
  24. I don't have any inside information, but I would bet that this is a one-and-done theme. I've seen heavy discounts on Cars 3 toys—including the Lego sets—ever since the movie opened, and it didn't do great at the box office (by Disney/Pixar standards). Looking forward to that last set though!
