  1. I wonder if they were just waiting for Black Panther, so that they could use a recolored version of whatever piece they wind up using for his mask/head...
  2. Agree 100%. I have no idea if this is legit or not, but that's exactly how I imagine LEGO will divvy up the characters. Use the only other licensed CMF line, The Simpsons, for reference: - One complete set of characters (Simpsons family : Inside Out emotions) - Pairs of characters that may or may not necessarily be well-known (Patty & Selma, Radioactive Man & Fallout Boy : Tarzan & Jane, Peter Pan & Hook) - Must have favorite single characters (Ned Flanders, Chief Wiggum : Donald Duck, Pluto) - Lots of A-list characters left out for future sets (Barney, Principal Skinner, Moe : Daisy, Goofy, etc.) Doesn't prove anything. But if it's a fake, it's a well-thought out fake.
  3. When the Jetsons and Flintstones easter eggs were revealed in Dimensions, I got my hopes up that we'd see an annual Hanna-Barbera summer wave, each one based on a different show. I think Just2Good shot that down pretty quickly, but I still want to hold out a little hope!
  4. If I'm following the discussion correctly, they're complaining about the fact that it has so many pieces that it's unaffordable, and also that it doesn't have enough pieces.
  5. Every time J2G does his funny spacing thing, my Spidey sense tingles!
  6. I haven't received my shipping notification yet, but my credit card was just charged for the WALL-E that I ordered several weeks ago, when they were listed as out of stock until February 2016. So I'm guessing that US customers who have them on back order should be seeing them show up in the next week or two.
  7. Yeah, if a hairstyle has a certain amount of detail, don't they have to use rubber for the material? Seems like all of the pointy hair pieces are rubber.
  8. Yeah, I just ordered mine from shop.LEGO.com as well and got the same back ordered message. Which I'm actually fine with. The purchase counted toward my holiday train promo, and I'd rather wait a few weeks -- or even a few months -- and get one of the first redesigned sets with the neck issue resolved.
  9. What's the actual release date for the Dimensions Doctor Who set? Someone's already selling it on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/262095566527
  10. I don't think there's ever been an option to pre-order on shop.LEGO.com. You're thinking of Amazon maybe?
  11. I don't think kids will go ga-ga over short legs. I think that LEGO is gambling that they won't hate them like we do. :)
  12. Yeah, I don't blame you! But a 6-year old kid with a $10/week allowance is going to love these things.
  13. My theory for why the racers have short-legged minifigs: I'm certain that LEGO's retail partners have been asking for some value-priced Super Heroes sets that contain two minifigures and a small build at a very budget-friendly price point. Walmart in particular exerts a lot of pressure on companies to create special value-priced products for their core customers; Target does as well, but not to the same extent. Being able to advertise Super Heroes LEGO sets in a "great gifts under $10" list is a big deal. LEGO has pretty much established that Super Heroes sets with two minifigs and a small build cost $13.00. If the Mighty Micros line contained two licensed minifigs and even a tiny build for each, then they'd essentially be devaluing their $13 Super Heroes sets. But, if they include two short-legged minifigs with two tiny builds, then that justifies selling MM sets for $10 and small Super Heroes sets with two full-legged minifigs for $13. The cost of manufacturing short legs (one piece of ABS) vs. regular legs (three pieces of ABS, plus assembly) also probably factors into it. But even if LEGO *could* afford to include regular legs in MM sets at a $10 price point, it would be crazy to do so from a business perspective, because then the consumer starts to ask, "wait, why is this set only $10 and this one $13, when they both have roughly the same number of parts and minifigures?"
  14. Ah, good point. Well, if the Angels are going to appear in any upcoming Dimensions sets, or if the DW license is going to be revealed as a full-on theme, then that would be a way to get around the "no new molds" stipulation. I hope they don't turn out to be the plastic sheet wings. I'd almost prefer the Chima eagle wings to those, and that's not the best solution either.
  15. CMF Series 14 Gargoyle wings would do the trick. If that's not what the official minifig comes with, that's what I'll switch out to.
  16. If you translate the page from French, it says something like: "From what I could see at the moment, the minifigs accompanying vehicles will be well minis complete (head, torso, legs) but it seems that the legs are those usually used by LEGO minifigs on representing children ( or hobbits), ie those shorter and without joints."
  17. Agreed. At least one major chain retailer where I live didn't even stock Simpsons series 2, and they've carried every other CMF series. I remember that they had a huge surplus of heavily discounted Simpsons series 1 minifigs, which probably explains it. Assuming this Disney CMF series is legit, it's easy to see the Simpsons CMF as a proof-of-concept/dry run for Disney CMF: molded heads on standard minifigure bodies, anthropomorphic minifig animals, etc. And that also makes me think we're probably in for the classic cartoon characters in the first wave -- Donald, Mickey, Goofy, etc.
  18. LEGO could do what they did with the Detective's Office and the Pet Shop modulars: just add a second small building to it to justify the price. Moe's (Not-a-)Tavern, Lard Lad Donuts, Phineas Q. Butterfat's Ice Cream Parlor, etc.
  19. Or, for $350, perhaps they could throw in BOTH versions of the logo for the firehouse sign!
  20. I spent ten years working in the games industry and saw this happen a lot. Basically, if a game can't be released in October or very early November, it usually winds up getting pushed back until after the holidays. That period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is so expensive to promote a product in, and it's hard to recoup your costs when you only have 4-5 weeks to sell to holiday shoppers. It sounds like it fell behind on its development schedule, and even if it only wound up being late by a few weeks, that was probably enough to convince them to push it until after the holidays.
  21. That would actually be hilarious! If it doesn't come with Supes' face, I'll be modding mine immediately.
  22. +1 :) Not to be a paranoid conspiracy theorist, but if I was TLG, I wouldn't bother trying to squash rumors -- I'd just send a bunch of folks onto forums like this with misinformation! Bummer about no Kang, but from the teases we've gotten from the much more reliable hint-droppers, I'm VERY excited about the 2016 lineup already!
  23. Sorry to go a little off-topic, but since there's been some confusion around exactly what the issue with Namor is, here's the most recent article I could find that quotes someone who's in a position to give a definitive answer: Full article: http://screenrant.com/marvel-namor-submariner-movie-rights/
  24. I don't expect that we'll ever know for sure, but I wonder if the Fly started out as a post-mutation Baxter Stockman from the now-canceled TMNT license...
  25. The attempt to eliminate off-topic posts in the Licensed threads has resulted in more off-topic posts in the Licensed threads than I have ever seen. Do I get put into time-out now?
