  1. This is a really great series. I looked at the previous two waves when they were first posted, and I can honestly say that you never seem to run out of good ideas. Perhaps some of these sets should be put on Ideas, like Minas Tirith? I look forward to more.
  2. Did it have black armor? Or a black visor? Or anything different than the cmf knight other than the shield? It would seem kind of odd to show a picture of a knight who's holding the wrong shield.
  3. No need to feel bad for us Castle fans. We're getting a big new theme next year, anyway. I do feel bad for Space fans, though. They always get thrown in the backseat of the Lego truck and never get a whole lot of attention. I feel like a new space theme could be in the pipeline with the success of the SSS and Exo-Suit.I voted that Chima was a flop and that there will be a new action theme next year. I based Chima's flop off of the poor sales of the Speedorz, which seemed like a very big part of the show and sets. I also think there will be a new action theme next year, it just won't be Chima sized, probably more the size of Monster Fighters.
  4. No, there isn't any harm in dreaming and speculating. I do it all the time .The problem is that they aren't having fun, they are lashing out at each other over the topic of the end of the theme and, as you said, Nuju's project. Their is no fun or happy conversations here, and that's unfortunate. My original post was basically telling people to stop yelling at each other, because there's no reason for it. They did, and I'm aware of that. What I was saying in my post was that Lego would have to bring back Lotr to make another set. There weren't any Bttf or Ghostbusters sets before their Ideas incarnations. Hope that clarifies.
  5. That is correct, but there are still people here who think there might still be 1. More sets 2. An Lotr D2C line Both are near impossible. Also, it is far likely that the piano or marble run will become sets, as Lego has recently taken a liking to less action-oriented Ideas sets like Birds, Wall-E, Science Research Lab. Doesn't the contract for Lotr end in a month or two? It would make no sense to revive a license just to make one more set. Not good business.
  6. Hey, unless Lego does anything completely out of the ordinary (Ninjago ) that's what we'll get. Imagine the Lego company being run by a Lizard
  7. Sigh..... There is no reason to think that there will be a Minas Tirith set, you think that topic is bad the Future Lotr Sets one is all based on a two-year old picture of a blurry white wall in the background. I agree, Nuju does need more credit for his MOC, as I personally think that it is amazing and well thought out. My problem is that people refuse to believe this line is over. I don't remember there being any controversy over the ending of POP, Toy Story, The Lone Ranger... etc. People need to get over it and move on. People here need to talk about something that they enjoy, not endlessly rant about the end of their favorite theme.
  8. I have a question for the people here: Why on Earth would Lego make a new, enormous Minas Tirith if Lotr's replacement is coming out in 2016? If Lego really is making Minas Tirith (Which they aren't), when would it come out? 2016. Why make a new, huge, Castle-themed set that would directly compete with the new Castle sets? There's no way that Minas Tirith would come out this year, as we already know all of the Lego sets up to October and we have the exclusives list. There won't have been a new Lotr set in over 2 full years by October. There are no more Hobbit movies. The "farewell set" was Orthanc, like it or not. In 4,104 posts, nothing has been established but the fact that Lotr is over. I've actually been reading this thread since it started, and this is pretty much composed of this: 1. About 1200 "Dream Waves" 2. About 700 "What could have been" posts 3. 20-30 Wild Goose Chases, plus the endless speculation following 4. About 350 "Lotr is over" posts. I'm not sure how many times people need to be told this. 5. A similar number of "No way, we're gonna get Minas Tirith" posts, in direct response to the "Lotr is over" ones. I'm not sure why the fanbase is a little naïve about Lotr, because it wasn't intended to be a huge thing like Star Wars. It was your average-run-of-the-mill partnership, very similar to Tmnt. A few classic sets from older TV shows/movies, then movie sets when the new movie came out, then it was over. Please understand that. I'm sure that there will be something that makes Lotr fans happy in the new fantasy sets.
  9. I think that your wish-list becomes unrealistic on this set, not wave 3. There's no way that Lego makes a castle with 16 figs and 2 horses. That set would contain the most mini figures in a Castle set ever, and the last castle to be made only had 7 figs and one horse. Sadly, I think that Lego is reducing the number of figs in each Castle set, not adding more than ever. It could be, but if it's the old Black Falcon from 2012, why would it still be advertised at TRU? I've only ever seen one unmade Castle fig ever advertised, and that was the Elf in the Lego magazine several years ago (And there will probably be Elves next year). If this is a new design of BF, I would really like to see a picture of it.
  10. Wait, what? Did it look like a new BF, or was it the 2012 one? Because if it were a new one, no doubt they would be in the new theme. :wub_drool:
  11. So true. I personally think that Lotr and Hobbit 2013 should unpinned. Why is it still there? Also, future Lotr sets (because there aren't any, any rumor there is basically a wild goose chase), and Castle 2013 (because that sub theme is over). We can pin this (because it's a valid rumor with multiple confirmations), but prepare to wait a long, long, time for the new sets, like several months.
  12. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure that the only two projects to hit 10k this review period are the Discworld and the Science Adventures set. The first on, IMHO, seems to obscure and possibly to religious to become a set. The owner of the Science Adventures project already has a set on the shelves, and I read a while back that Lego is less likely to pick two projects from the same person to become sets. Other projects close to 10k are the Frozen Palace and the Douglas DC-3, and Brickisauria. The Frozen Palace has no chance because a set of the same name just came out. The Jurassic Park sets are coming out soon, and that would make Brickisauria impossible since it would be based on an existing theme. That leaves the DC-3 and the Market Street, since no other projects are gaining support fast enough and probably won't make it this review period. Both sets are very large, the Market Street is a little bigger, but the DC-3 is easily 1000 pieces. The Market Street's main draw is the fact that there are no Castle or Hobbit themed sets out this year (there are a whole bunch of planes available though) so Lego would be more inclined to make a medieval set because it would have no competition on the shelves. In addition, just like this review period, Lego could make them both. Vorkosigan also brings up a good point: the MS can be scaled down. Remove the terrain under the feet of the mini figures, and you're looking at a $130 set. This isn't too far from the largest set in most themes. Lego has already shown that they will give Space (Benny's SSS) and Pirates (Sea Cow) a large treat to show them they still care about the fans, so why not the Castle fans?
  13. Do you guys think that the Medieval Market Street on Lego Ideas has a chance? It's a pretty big set, probably bigger than MMV if made, but it has over 9300 supporters. Maybe it can come at the same time the new fantasy sets come so that fans of traditional and fantasy Castle fans have something to be happy about? Just a thought, but we could be in store for a great year for Castle next year if that happens.
  14. In my eyes, Lotr is dead, but since Minas Tirith got to 10k supporters on Ideas, technically isn't. It was just revealed that the results for the next batch of Ideas sets (which includes MT) will come in late May. Then, unless there is a drastic change in policy on the acceptable size of an Ideas set (about 500 pieces) , it will be over.
  15. I personally think that the new diver sets are great, an added bonus is the homage to the old sets using the red color scheme and the insane amounts of undersea animals. Does 70095 set a record for most sharks in a single set? I'll probably buy all of them except the helicopter, as it looks to generic to me and it doesn't really fit the pattern the rest of the sets are following. Space isn't as good, they look to <insert that tiresome argument> to me. I'll probably just get the starter set for the astronauts.
  16. Sounds very interesting, and very promising. This new info further solidifies what I was told as a true statement. Thanks for sharing! Maybe, just maybe, this could be a Ninjago-size theme.....we can dream, rights?
  17. That does seem reasonable, as the guy I talked to said that of all of the release dates given, January 2016 was most likely. So in that case, Lego would have started designing the new theme in June 2014, and that fits in with what you said. The sooner the better!
  18. You should look at this: http://www.reddit.com/r/lego/comments/1x6ldp/lego_franchise_infographic/cf8vdl3 There, if you scroll down a bit, you should see this, written by Mark Stafford himself. "It's easy to get overwhelmed by the marketing on Star Wars, Movie tie-ins, Ninjago and Chima and think that's all LEGO do these days, but the three evergreens of LEGO minifigure themes are City, Castle and Space, if there is not one of these themes on the shelf at the moment you can be sure one is in development". Since, according to Lego, the Castle (2013) theme was discontinued late last year, by Mark's reckoning (and I'd believe it), a new Castle theme is in the works. Somewhere further down in that thread Mark says that designing a Lego theme takes about 18 months. That would mean that if Lego started designing a new Castle theme in, let's say November of 2014, the new sets would be on the shelves in......June 2016. You say this is wishful thinking, but there will be new Castle sets next year. I could be wrong about the fantasy part, but probably not. It's very likely that this new theme is Lotr's replacement.
  19. Thankfully, the store manager said that it was an in-house theme. Bless my lucky stars.
  20. Maybe it's a hint that Lego is bring Space and Castle back next year? It certainly makes sense if you think about it.
  21. Great design. That boat needed a pretty drastic change to fit today's standards, and I think you've done the job quite well. P.S. Wouldn't the boat in the last picture need crossbows to be a..........crossbow boat?
  22. Reboot. The guy I spoke to said that the new theme was "similar" to the Fantasy Era, he basically meant that at least one of the factions would be fantasy based. From what he said, it didn't sound like a continuation but it is closely related to the older sets. I guess you could compare it to Kingdoms-Castle 2013 in a way.
  23. I would LOVE a tv show with a story like Ninjago's to give us a lot of variation in the sets.
  24. I just saw the Pegasus wings in a picture for the new Elves castle set. Maybe they will use those again in this theme?
  25. Okay, I understand your thinking. Meanwhile, let's speculate on what sets we could get if this were a direct continuation of the line. I'd like an Elf hideout and a Goblin cave in the first wave as I've been waiting for awhile for those factions to be made. I do think that the Goblin hat/ears could be reused for the new line, as most Cmf parts are repurposed eventually.
