  1. i think I see 5 new parts :s including the minifigure snake thing
  2. which one? the 3 speed of the smaller 6X6 tatra has a building instruction on my brickshelf. the 2 speed in the tatra 8X8 is a modded version of sariels 2 speed gearbox, gearbox in the middle, the 2 xl's between axle 3 and 4( smaller and better weight distribution.). the xl's slide togheter with the sliding of the gearbox. the 2 XL's also work independant of each other, they are always in the same gear, but the left xl propels the left tyres, the right.. the right :) so as you steer, you can steer further. you can use tanksteer, or if u want to go to the left, you only drive the right tyres, or left to in bumps....... very handy on tight sections :)
  3. the space behind the cabin, till the very end of the truck. it was, i think 20 or 25 studs minimum, anybody can help or am i wrong about the studs?
  4. depends on what rulez you use. my tatra 8X8 for example is 28 studs wide, but the belgium rules let the 8X8's an bigger go to 28 studs, the rest 25 studs. this is if u build on the studs, if you build by scale (1/13) the tatra 8X8 is allowed :) the length not really, but the bucket or space in the back has a regulation, i don't remember howmany
  5. hey, feel free to use my design: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=483906 it is an 8X8 but the build is very modular, axles are really strong. i won the belgium trucktrial championship with this truck :) just leave the last axle for a 6X6 or stretch the middel of the frame by 7 studs. Has 2 xl's, 2 speed gearbox, tank steering as an extra for better cornering,... or a smaller version with 1 xl and 3 speed gearbox: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=476428 regards, nielsvdv
  6. i am coming to, printed my vouchers yesterday :)
  7. one of the most beautifull i have ever seen! very nice work
  8. that is a knex wheel, had a set with it when i was a kid.. i was mad because it wasn't lego poor granny
  9. I always tell my girlfriend that its better to spend my nights in the lego room, than going to a pub and come home late and drunk. and if u spend money on beer, it flouds away, if i spend it on lego, i can keep it forever who has troubles about lego and girls/boys, tell em this!
  10. hi all i have made instructions for my tatra 8X8. i have build multiple versions of it for about a year for trucktrial exhibitoins and races. as i feel that i cannot improve it in a significant way, i have broken it down and made instructions. the tatra's features: 2 xl's 2 speed gearbox ( even top gear has enough torque for the steepest hils, so you could change gears to another config) each xl has its own gearbox 2 stearing axles independant left and right drive ( ables you to steer very sharp, almost tank like, without breaking the trtr rules ^^) halfaxles (schocks can be adjusted trough rubberbands) weight: with the normal batteryboxes (2) 2,6 kilo, with rechargables (2) 2,3 kilo a whole lot a fun the instructions: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=483906 the truck drives very good, it became 2nd in the belgium trtr championship, the course was to 4X4isch :P you can look at the belgium trucktrial video some posts ago, there you will see it in action. making these instructions and the truck were very hard, so if u build this an post it on the web, plz credit some pics: grtz nielsvdv
  11. :P i have the exact same thing, i met my girlfriend 2 years ago, and she loved lego from the start :) i am not the kind of person who loves lego and hides it, so i told her honestly. she looked at my hobby and she thinks it is really cool :) she loves system, harry potter,.. technic is too complicated for her ..cough... :p but she is going to buy the VW VAN, witch i love to :)
  12. the funny thing is, that I entered with 2 trucks. first the tatra 8X8, where i have put months of work in, and then the landrover 110, which i built in 4 hours, and the landrover won :( and was driven by my little brother he is still mocking me! i blame the course, to much 4X4ish btw, i already made instructions for the 8X8 chassis, but now it has 2 speed, so i will make instructions for it soon.
  13. i bought this a week ago on a huge 2hand event from an elderly couple who's son was spoiled 30 years ago :) i paid 150 euro, it contains 64 sets, almost all castle, pirates ( also caribean clipper,..), city, space,... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us the sets i had instructions from (in perfect condition), i also found some rare technic sets without instructions, as i am a technic afol: 4010 4011 5580 6011 6012 6016 6017 6023 6030 6035 6040 6041 6061 6066 6067 6074 6257 6265 6274 6368 6381 6384 6385 6392 6394 6395 6401 6503 6504 6522 6524 6534 6613 6634 6641 6646 6654 6660 6694 6697 6750 6842 6846 6849 6879 6881 6884 6893 6895 6941 6951 6953 6972 6980 6990 8020 8024 8040 8640 8680 8841 8844 8889 4,5 VOLT MOTOR SET LEGOLAND BOEKJE 87, 88 TECHNIC GUIDE 86 LEGO EN DUPLO ASSORTIMENT BOEKLET 87 X2 after sorting: http://img685.imageshack.us/slideshow/webplayer.php?id=p1020524yj.jpg
  14. i actually would like the quad to be the main set, as a largescale sport or 4X4 quad with pf (driven with a belt before the chain, for schilderen) where the rider moves when u ride it. so it moves from side to side when u stear it. that would sound like a lot of fun, especially for children :)
  15. what rammaco means is that the drivetrain really cracks if u take on the steaper hills.. other than that, its a great looking truck ! :)
  16. the other pics in this folder show a 1300 + pieces volkswagen campervan, according to its number it will be an exclusif set... definetly will buy that! for my girlfriend who loves those old VW's
  17. look @ the right http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5101204
  18. how about a quad as a flagship. i own a can am outlander 800 max xt. i am going to build it one day in technic, but havent found any time yet. this is how i see the functions: - 4WD, 3 diffs with difflock - : high, low, neutral, reverse and parking ( a working bracke would be a nice feature). - fully independant steering, with in the back the can am patented one. i you look it up, it is really nice :) (tti independant suspension) - maybe if it is possible a cvt (new part?) - front winch - racks and protective bars - the max version offers place to 2 people - a box in the back for storage http://en-ca.can-amatv.brp.com/showroom/category/Outlander-MAX-800R.aspx -> ifu don't know the outlander this could be rc, as the cvt could be set to a specific amont of torque to pass it, before slipping
  19. true and not true, making it too easy would take away the challenge, in my vid you can see i positioned the m motor with minila between my 2 xl's for driving. keep on searching for the solution i would say :) you can also slide it with a 6 l link and a wormgear :)
  20. i just connectet a miniLA on a centralpoint, and motorise it with an M motor( 1/1) my new tatra has a 2 speed, here is a vid while it shifts.
  21. i really woud like a hauler, like a volvo D40, with longer pneumatics for the bucket and pneumatic steering :) OOO! and full 6X6 rc, if tlg would like that :P i don't think we will ever see a "rubber tire" rc vehicle, TLG only uses tracks fo rc vehicles like the bulldozer. kids would stop the vehicle cousing damage :(
  22. i am starting my studentjob next week, working for a month so i can buy the unimog :) (and more :P)
  23. Hi, I have built a 3 speed gearbox, based on sariels 2 speed. gearratio's are 1/1,6, 1/1 and 1,6/1. i have made instructions for it. http://upload.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=476430 pics: http://upload.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=476199 vid of older version: shifting is done with a miniLA hope u like it, or could use it. regards NielsVDV
  24. very good looking truck :) glad to see someone who uses the independent left an right drive like me :)
