  1. To be honest...Mr Han has cost me a fortune....but building an owning his models has been a fantastic experience and taught me a huge amount in technic building. His instructions are as good ,if not better than Lego themselves..he is along with the other awesome builders and designers on this great forum a great builder-designer and i thank him very much for the many hours of enjoyment his designs have given me and others. Hunting down the parts for these models is part of the enjoyment for me...it is the fisrt step in a long process with ultimate goal and prize being the build and the finished model. I have the 10x4 dumptruck , the low loader trailer and twin steer truck , the articulated hauler and finally Hans improved XL 8421.....all fantastic builds and great looking models. Im currently collecting parts for the snow groomer for the last six months.....65% there.....thanx again Han for your great work.
  2. Hi efferman, i have tried to download your instructions to this trailer axle combination...but i am unable to get it to work for me?? Is there something i need to know about that i should be doing? Thankyou very much in advance, Pete.
  3. Thanx JM, that link was perfect. Cheers Pete
  4. Hi Blackbird, thanks for that. One question, i have never used this site before, but when i click on your link and what i think to be parts list, it comes up with what seams to be stuff my computer is unable to read? Do i need to have some kind of program for this? Sorry for my garbage talk, as you might have picked up, im not very good with these computer things. Thanx again and cheers, Pete.
  5. Hi, i hope i hav'nt missed it somewhere, but i am unable to find a parts list for this great model. Does anyone know where i can find one please? I can see a parts list in his other model instructions, but not for this car. Oh and a massive thankyou for these awesome technic models and fantastic intructions......cannot wait for the finished instructions to the massive truck he is currently working on .....though my bank account is already in servere pain and i think parts for the truck will bankrupt lego budget, but in reality who cares. Thanx again and cheers, Pete.
  6. This is sooo insanely good. I love the whole thing, especially that detail on the tyres perfecto. Well done.
  7. Thanx, very much for doing this,,,,,,excellent work
  8. Gidday Ed, your truck and trailer combo looks fantastic with the chrome to finish it all off. Thanx for the detail photos....they will be a big help when i get around to finishing my roadtrain tipper combo. Can i ask who you get all those loverly chrome bricks from? Cheers Pete.
  9. Hi there, can anyone give me some help or advise .....re shipping costs from brinklink stores? I live in Oz so is there anyway to get an accurate shipping cost without having to commit to buying? I read all store conditions and the SPLASH section but i find it very difficult to work out shipping. Is there a way to have the weight of what you are buying come up in the cart ? Thanx in advance, Pete.
  10. Gidday Josh, check out rebrickable for a parts list its really good. Then use bricklink to source parts...but be sure to have your piggy bank very full. If you are going to build both the prime mover and the trailer its going to cost alot of time and money...alot of the parts for this model are quite expensive. I have built the truck and i can say its really good. I have about 75% of the trailer parts but i have alot in my parts inventory.Another tip is that big help for parts for the truck is the technic crane truck...although that is getting very expensive now its not being made by Lego now. Good luck mate, cheers Pete.
  11. Lovin the look of the whole set up...escellent. The black panels and fuel tanks look so much better.
  12. Gidday all, just a quick question...has anyone ever used this site for buying technic parts? Any comments would be appreciated..i.e shipping costs, reliability etc. Thanx Pete
  13. Gidday Ed, thankx for the detail photos of your trailer...great job.
  14. Hi, ilike ur build very much. Just one question ...how come you did not provide a differential and drive to the second axle of the truck? I like the way you have done the trailer..any chance of some detail pictures from underneath? Well done, i have a couple of these models and you have given me insperation to do something with them now. Cheers Pete.
  15. Hi all, would just like to ask if anybody has tried these or used them..http://store.firgelli.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1822 any comments would be welcome. I understand they are not genuine lego technic stuff but they seam to look pretty good. thanx Pete
  16. This is insanely good....if only TLG could produce something this realistic. A masterfull work. congrats.
  17. just went to TRU Melb and picked up two 42009's for $209.00 pretty happy. still 3 left on the shelves
  18. Gidday, i just got the opera house from www.shopforme.com for 320.00 with free shipping if thats any help?
  19. Hi all Ozzies, i have just been on shopforme.com ,they have 42009 on sale for 224.00 au with free shipping. Just letting you know, Cheers Pete.
  20. Hi all, as i've said i have a big problem.....but its a great one. In essence i have a backlog of sets and builds going on due to moving and doing some renovations, and the major reason is not having much space to build or display any of my collection. Here is the list of " brand new in box " yet to be started technic and other sets...10220 vw kombi, 10226 sopwith camel plane, 7632x 3 city crawler crane, 60018 city cement truck...Technic sets include 9398 crawler, 9396 helicopter, 42000 grand prix racer, 9397 logging truck, 42006 x 3 grabber excavator, 8053 mobile crane, 8043 excavator( with extra parts for ultimate build ), 42009 mobile crane (and collecting parts for this ultimate mod too) and finally 41999 Boss arrived the other day to complete the list of to-be-built stuff....wow....just typing this is making me exhausted and stoked at the same time. Now as well as all that..."on the go at the present time", is a finally completed 8421 Han XL mobile crane..really just some cosmetic extras to finish this. Half finished Han heavy hauler (waitng on a bricklink parts order) and finally what has been my biggest effort yet, a converted Han 10 x 4 tipper truck...making it into a PF twin steer tri-drive tipper towing a tri axle dolly converter with a B-double trailer combination and another tri-axle dolly converter towing a tri-axle tipper trialer....i have all the trailer upper bins or boddies made and ready. The two tri-axle dolly converters are made and the truck is presently beind remade into the tri drive so it can pull this heavy load with 2 x XL pf motors. Then i have to design all the trailer chasis's to hold the pf gear and linier actuaters for the tipping of the dump beds. This truck and trailer combination is "my version " of some of this type of combinations they run over in Western Australia to haul mineral sands from the mines to the ports to export. So to sum it up, i do have a really big problem, but a problem i'm really happy to have and the new lego room i'm building in my upstairs loft will be fantastic to work on all this stuff once i finish it really soon....cheers Pete. I'd really like to show some photos...but being a caveman with computers i am unable to workout how to add photos to my posts..once again cheers to everyone and thanks to you all for all the insperation, ideas and help this forum gives .
  21. Hope Han dosen't mind me posting this on his behalf, i've been wondering what he has been up to? hope this works www.designer-han.nl/lego/stonetrailertruck.htm
  22. Gidday all, i have been following a few topics envovling people reverse enginering technic models. I'm interested to know if anyone can give me some hints or procedures that they follow to do this? Thanks in advance, Pete.
  23. My has been saying " in process " for days now, whatever that means.....i give up....it will be a suprise if anything ever happens????
  24. Gidday Alex, i have both 8421 and Hans XL 8421 and really enjoyed Hans XL version as a build, but as you say its function in the boom movement is a bit problematic...but i still really love the model. But i for one would love to see a version you are talking about with the combination of the XL 42009 and would gladly pay for some instructions. I'm sure other technic heads out there would appreciate the effort also......so i reckon go ahead and thanks in advance, Pete.
  25. Hi all, first of all let me say this is my fisrt purchase direct through lego, i live in Australia too. So i perchased this truck and the large crane together...i think....i say this because ever since i put the order through(which was on the 1st of August), everytime i check "my order status" it just says "customer service"??? Once again being new to all of this, can someone tell me if i even have purchased anything yet??Of course nothing has shown up on my credit card yet. I was also interested to read about buying new sets outside of the lego shop and when they are delivered, they have come from the lego shop direct. What is interesting is that the "place" that i've had this happen to me is still selling today...does this mean there is something "not right about this guy"?? Thanks for your help, Pete.
