  1. I remember someone mentioned something about Lego Wedo robotics being an obscure topic and that when I want to post something related to Wedo I should keep it within one thread or something to that effect. I do want to inform forum members about the latest post in my blog, Sound controlled LEGO Wedo motor I would like to ask for advice how best I can do that. Thanks.
  2. Just learned about this tiny Intel Compute Stick Wondering if it might be practical for use with LEGO Wedo, Minstorms NXT and EV3 BTW how are LEGO Train configured. Does it need a computer?
  3. Welcome to the most active LEGO forum in the world.
  4. This involved EV3 too, so .....? Anyway how do I do that? Like adding a [Wedo] in the subject?
  5. Ralph Hemple made a video showing
  6. My blog Robotics for Children meant for young children but there will also be posts that may suit for older kids, then parents? (one parent says she was so glad she found my blog cause her girl lost among more advanced kids). I want to put labels/categories in sidebar so visitors looking for basic stuff (kids or parents visiting blog because of kids) can click on a suitable label and be presented with the relevant posts etc. For easy navigation. I assume using widely recognizable acronyms may help??? In fact I was planning to ask for help/suggestions/opinions on how to best label/categorize at the Lego Education Community but there less active than this forum so toying with the idea of asking here. And when I started the thread about acronym for MOD was because I have a post of this nature and expecting more in future and these kind of posts are sort of neither here nor there.
  7. Or maybe yes because Wedo sensors can be labeled by shift-click on it? I my asking in this thread considered hijacking thread, if yes, sorry and will not do again. If no, hope to get an answer
  8. Can I pop a small question here? Answer is probably no, but are Wedo sensors, lights Power Function devices?
  9. So far the only one I found specifically for Wedo is in the Lego Education Community, specifically the Wedo section BTW any abbreviation/acronym for Lego Parents?
  10. Found his Youtube channel. But where is his blog?
  11. Sigh, Rebrick.LEGO.com has Mindstorms, Technic and even DUPLO!!!! but Wedo is nowhere to be found. Wedo feels like a neglected poor cousin Anyone knows where there is a home for Wedo? Regarding tags, my son taught me #Mindstorms and #Technic Is that the way to add Topics Tags here?
  12. Thanks. I assume the M and O and D don't stand for anything but MOD is just extracted from MODified? Well if the is already an existing abbre for that and it is already widely used then I don't need to do anything and should be happy just that I will lose some "bragging rights" But if MOD just came from MODified then perhaps my personal preference is for the alphabets to individually represents something plus while there is noting related to EXISTING in MOD but there is an EXISTING in MEM (perhaps my "pride" can still be salvaged. M and O and D don't stand for anything = M and O and D don't stand for anything INDIVIDUALLY
  13. Who first start using GBC and how did it become widely used? Forgot to thank you, excuse my bad manners. Your English is perfect. I have no problem understand you.
  14. Found this List of LEGO Abbreviations useful when I need to understand some unknown abbreviation. Now at least I know what is MOC MOC = My Own Creation However, sometimes I end up with a modification of an existing. For example, this existing Lego Goalkeeper model in which a striker/ball kicker try to get a ball past into the goal. The motion sensor makes the goal keeper moves faster when an object is nearer the goalkeeper so easier to block the ball as it should be. As per Lego building instructions, the motion sensor is pointing in a direction perpendicular to the gaze of the goalkeeper which is illogical. I modified that existing model to have 1. the motion sensor pointing in the same direction as the gaze of the goalkeeper 2. because the sensor only sense an object at a distance 15cm or less from the sensor as described in Motion sensor application in modified goalkeeper robotic game (screenshot + video) but I need to label (categorize) it for easy website navigation. I would like to call it MEM (Modified Existing Model) instead of MOC because it is not exactly My Own Creation, although "almost". However, for easy identification it needs to be widely use and easily recognized. However, would anyone follow? If not it would not achieve above.
  15. Found this: with little robots chasing after a ball. So GBC is anything that involves a ball? If so, then the Motion sensor application in modified goalkeeper robotic game can qualify as a GBC?
  16. Related to Lego, I have found that it stands for Great Ball Contraptions. I tried google "define gbc lego" but only found lots MOC (My Own Creation) but what differentiate them from other Lego contraptions? Apologies if my question is too basic but I am now only starting to get serious with Lego, especially Wedo and later Mindstorms.
  17. The resealable plastic bags are really economical. I bought a box of 50, size can fit a sandwich, for only a few $. How much would a 50 drawers storage cabinet cost?
  18. I use resealable (ziploc bags, zipper bags)s plastic bags to sort and store my Lego pieces from the Lego Wedo basic and resource set together with the Simple and motorized machines set: Those resealable plastic bags that you can get from the kitchen section of a supermarket. Not as sophisticated as those neat storage boxes with drawers but very much cheaper You can also punch a hole at the open end and hang it on a rod. See Storage options: resealable plastic bags etc
  19. I know there are people in this community who have technical expertise to know how the Wedo software and the hub works. I hope they can let us know if the Wedo program on the computer communicates 1. one way, sending instructions to the hub 2. or it is a 2 way communications from program to hub and the sensor through the hub to the program in the computer?
  20. Great job MajorAlvega.
  21. Sorry i am new around here. I just read that part about controlling 2 motors.
  22. If you have the Lego Wedo hub and software or MIT Scratch software, you can control individually 2 or more motors. Details with screenshot, photo and video explain how to at How to label and control separately 2 or more Wedo motors I don't yet have Lego Mindstorms but you can do the same without wire
  23. I wish Sbrick can be used with the Lego WeDo robotic stuff to enable us to control from the computer in the wireless mode our creations without that cumbersome wire
  24. Found lots references to labeling motors with the MIT Scratch but couldn't find any using the Lego Wedo proprietary software. Finally found out how from Lego Education distributor. Published a post describing how together with screenshot and video at How to label and control separately 2 or more Wedo motors This time I think the video is an improvement over the previous videos.
