  1. I have published this post, Lego Wedo motor power block and motion (distance) sensor experiment. But one may ask what is the use of it? So I have made a video plus publish a post on the application of the motion sensor to a goalkeeper game: Motion sensor application in modified goalkeeper robotic game. I showed with a labled picture how Lego in their original setup of the Goalkeeper game had the motion sensor looking the wrong way, perpendicular to the goalkeeper gaze plus a photo of how I modified the setup so that the motion sensor looks in the same direction as the goalkeeper as it should (looking at the striker or kicker). The video will explain how the speed of the goalkeeper increases as my hand (striker/kicker) moves closer to the goalkeeper. I can't afford to employ a professional videographer so had to do it myself so please excuse my accent. This post probably will need the parents or grandparents to guide young children to better understand.
  2. @Sariel, great videographing. And what you managed to do with Wedo is great. Very professional.
  3. @sdotcarter, just drawing my attention to that great source of info is more than enough to deserve my gratitude.
  4. @sdotcarter that is some serious stuff you published over at latestt issue of Hispanbric magazine. Thanks. I learned a lot from it. Later I will start going through the earlier issues. @jim, thanks for the clarifications. Just one more question, at what stage I can start ending my messages with a signature plus a link to Robotics for Children?
  5. @sdotcarter, (Diego), thanks for adding so much resources for those learning (and playing) with Lego, particularly WeDo. You must have spent much time in preparing that article. BTW did you use some advanced software to produce that nice magazine style article? @MajorAlvega, thanks for PMing Technic Regulator.
  6. A visitor to my Robotics for Children who probably found my blog through a message here at Eurobrick Forum commented she was so glad she found my blog. She has a 6 year old who joined a robotic club but is a bit lost because she doesn't have a foundation in robotics while the other kids are a bit more advanced. She hopes I could write about the basics which is what I intend to do while leaving the more advanced stuff till later. I have in mind something very basic I want to write about and would want to post about it here but I still haven't heard from a moderator on how they view such threads. How can I get in touch with a moderator?
  7. I am into Lego mainly because of my grandchildren and currently slowly adding content related to LEGO Wedo to my Robotics for Children, intention is to guide and encourage them, a kind of fun distance learning. By nature, content will be "kids' stuff" but which may also appeal to AFOL. Will be "graduating" to Mindstorms later. I note that the subject in this forum is LEGO Technic, Mindstorms & Model Team and that Wedo is missing. I read somewhere that kids' membership may be removed and want to seek clarifications if threads involving Lego Wedo here are in danger of being booted out?

  10. And I am from Malaysia. A grandpa with 3 grandchildren and we all have the Lego Wedo basic set plus the resource set. I also have the Lego Simple and Motorized Mechanism set. At this point in time, I am mainly in the learning mode so hope this group will tolerate questions. As my grandchildren gets older, we will get the Lego Mindstorms EV3. Expecting to be able to contribute later once we get over the learning curve. I am an active blogger who recently started this Robotics for Children blog. Will add more adult stuff later so please don't kick me out prematurely. I see that [ v ] Enable signature? at the sidebar so I assume we can append signatures at the bottom of our messages. Correct me please if I am wrong. Peter Chen Robotics for Children (and adult children)
  11. @Citizen, that beautiful photo of the inside of the Wedo hub, can I use it at my Lego robotic blog Robotics for children with proper acknowledgement?
