I know "army building" is very hard to get. Personally I'm still thinking about what type of organization to follow. Since I have several old clones who don't have the same armor/marks etc of the recent one I have still to decide where to put them. Namely if they will form a squad on their own or function as "veterans/ officers" for the new ones. The "official" organization is not easy to follow. We can end having few more or less clones we don't know where ti put etc. My suggestion is: keep buying the clones you want then when they reach a number you want to out into a "formation" choose the organization that fit betters the number of clones you have, so everyone has a place in the formation Example: if you buy 5 Kashyyy Troopers Battle packs you have 10 Kashyyyk Clones and 10 41st Elite Clones. You could make 5 men squads, for example. If your army grows you can change it's organization. I tend to put the two type of clones coming with Battle packs in different squads. In the above example I'd make 2 all Kashyyyk Clones and 2 all 41st Squads. It's just an option. They are our armies and we can do everything we like

If you want to follow the actual in-universe organization: Squad: 9 men lead by Sergeant and Corporal Platoon: 4 Squad (36 Clones) led by Lieutenant Company: 4 Platoons (144 units) led by Captain Above company things for us collectors get a little difficult (so many Minifigures needed ) but here it goes Battalion: 4 Companies (576 Clones) led by Battalion Commander and Major Regiment: 4 Battalions (2304 units) led by Regimental Commander and Jedi Commander Legion/Brigade: 4 Regiments ( 9216 units) led by Senior Commander and Jedi General and so on ( the full list can be found here http://starwars.wiki...of_the_Republic ) EDIT: Typos corrected.

It's a pleasure. Your Brickfilms are "professional grade" ones. Truly impressive. I know how much dedication is required to make them so I feel right to show appreciation Keep up the amazing work

I wanted to say I don't follow the "marker price" very close Anyway the price is connect with the "investment" aspect or the "market demand" if you prefer The seller actually considers it an "investment". I agree with you about the fact what collectors are willing to pay do determine the price of a collectible. That's why the vary from period to period, according to demand. We are all collectors but there are persons who really make a job out of it. As for me... well I think I could never renounce to any part of my Lego collection EDIT: Typo corrected

I agree with you. I wouldn't call those "Elves" Lego too. They are a completely different product. Like you said with normal Minifigures things would have been different but those "dolls figures" are clearly useless to us AOFL. A "holiday/tropical island" etc theme with the usual Minifigures/bricks could have some utility, like a different version of city. You may like it or not but it would have more potential

I'll look forward your Clone Army. That 100 Clones box is indeed very rare. You see very few of them around and they usually cost a lot. Btw, about recent purchases: I just found another 75002 AT-RT. It was the last one in the shop. One more 501st Clone Trooper then
-
I know in the USA there was the famous 100 Clone Trooper exclusive pack. It has always been a very rare sight in Europe, well at least where I live I like the Marines armor. Let me know when you post the pictures of your clones
-
With original you mean the 2002 Phase I armor ones and the 2005 Phase II ones? I have very few of them (those coming with the vehicles I bought) I customized them a little with electric tape (like I said before ) just to add some more details, especially in the legs and back
-
I'd really like to see the pictures. I'm assembling my little Clone Army. Sadly I've been away from Lego hobby for a very long period so I only have about 120 Clones (not counting OR and few Stormtroopers and Imperial pilots) and about 40 vehicles. I know it's not huge but I still like it It has several very old Minifigures, like the first Clone Scout Trooper from 2005. He acts as the leader of the current Clone Scout Troopers from the battle pack. I have to assemble few 75035 sets and then I'll take the photos. I also plan to buy Utapau Battle packs next time I order from Lego, so I should be able to add 40 more clones to the army
-
The current packs have "standard clones" (most of the times) but you can still modify them. For example if you have 2 Commander Gree you can use his parts to assemble sergeants for the Kashyyyk Troopers. They will look different from both the "rank and file" and Gree himself (since you basically mixed his parts with the standard clones ones ) Another interesting thing (I'm thinking to do it) would be to use Old Republic Troopers as "Officers" or "Special Operations" Clones. Their armor is indeed very similar to Clone Troopers'. It's the "Republic design", after all

Talking about recent purchases: I just finished the 75043 AT-AP (that was among my last purchase) and it's impressive. It's not very elegant but it's the "in-universe" vehicle to look like that but the set itself is truly impressive. Not to mention the fact it has a very interesting price per brick, uncommon among Star Wars sets. It also comes with two outstanding Minifigures (and three droids, including a Battle Droid Commander) Commander Gree is perfect to lead the Kashyyyk Troopers and since they are currently one of the best options for building a Clone Army, it's nice to have someone to lead them in battle. We don't have a lot of info on them but, thinking positive , this is a good things since it gives us a lot of freedom for our brick projects. Now that I think about it, it could nice to create a sort of "chain of comment" during army building. For example, in the Clone Army I'm building (about 120 clones and 40 vehicles: not very huge I know ) I have ARC Troopers leading squads. We could do the same with the Shadow Guards EDIT: Typo corrected.

Aren't two levels of canon? What it's called actually Canon and what it's called Legends? With the six movies falling into Canon and all the rest falling into Legends? Anyway it appears Lego will release Shadow Guard Minifigure so, it's not so irrelevant
-
As for what I remember Shadow Guard is an elite special operations unit that does not fall into ordinary hierarchy. They had a specific task and took orders directly from the Emperor.
-
So you made a 501st trooper I wish my "free hand drawing" skills would be so good lol. Anyway I too plan to turn the next Stormtroopers I manage to acquire into 501st Clone Troopers: after all we can consider the Stormtrooper armor a sort of "phase III" Clone Trooper armor

Impressive, most impressive indeed. I've surely become a Galaxy Squad fan Right now I found, and bought, three sets 70701, 70705 and the mighty 70709. I built the smaller one (70701) and it's indeed a wonderful set. I also like very much the Galaxy Squad's armors: they remind of the Mass Effect armors

I have to agree and consider our Lego hobby is not a cheap one but GW prices are going a little out of control. Anyway, since I know how GW react to fan made things every time I think about some "Warhammer 40K in Lego" project I remember of all the problems several fans had just to have mentioned the brand in the blogs etc. They also made, a failed, a huge case just because someone used "Space Marine" in a book (even though the name is around since about 1930 ) Btw, I really like the Skyrim reference in your signature

Thank you . Don't worry, I don't plan to spam I barely have the time to write few posts on that blog so no time to spam lol. Just a little joke Seriously it's just because of the "high resolution" thing. I don't have high professional grade equipment but even with my reflex camera I can really capture the details of Minifigures and sets in high resolutions and I'd really like to show those details. That's all. Thank you again for you time

I'm not an expert at the "investment" part of our hobby (well a part the cost per bricks thing ) since every time I acquire a Lego set I can't help but building it. However I know many fans/collectors who use brickpicker.com (I think I spelled correctly) to check the "market quotations" of Lego sets. Like I said I'm not very expert about the investment part of Lego hobby
-
Oh so those rumors were correct :( That's very sad. I really love Star Wars theme and I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan but I believe variety is what makes a hobby interesting. I mean, it's something I do to relax, so sometimes I want to build a starship other times a fantasy castle. LOTR and The Hobbit are currently the two best themes for fantasy/medieval settings. The castle theme (which it seems is not going to get more sets soon) is not comparable with them. At least I'm glad I have my Orthanc

Really impressive! Very detailed MOC. I also noticed the presence of Obi-Wan Minifigure and since those guards are about to intervene I can't help lol but saying: "This is not the rickshaw you are looking for" Congratulations for your impressive MOC

Hello fellow AFOL. I finally completed my first Lego comic short story and I'd really like to read your opinion It is just a little test, a sort of introduction (or "pilot episode", if you prefer ) to a story series I'm currently writing, named " A Bountiful Galaxy" Even though you will see a couple of Minifigures from the Star Wars theme this is not a Star Wars story. It' set in another fictional universe I created for this story series. So I posted here for all the Lego Sci-Fi fans. Anyway here the story. Part 1 (Pages one and two) Part 2 (Pages there, four and five) This is truly my first ever comic story and I'm back to the Lego universe after an absence nearly 10 years old long , so any comment, feedback, suggestion etc will be very appreciated. Even "negative" ones. It will motivate me in going ahead with these projects. Thank you very much for your time. I hope you'll like this little story. I made sure the pics are in very high resolution so you should be able to appreciate the Minifigures' and sets' details EDIT: I do realize the title is, well, a very "unsuccessful" one. It was intended to be a wordplay on the expression "getting on my nerves" and a line said by the comic's main character. However I realize out of context has little meaning Anyway on the technical aspect: I'm still experimenting with the software (it's Comic Life 3 for the records) and while certain effects can be easily added to the photos others, like good quality energy weapons effects for example, are still difficult to add for me. I'm working on them though. Thank you for reading

I have the 2010 version of the Slave I. It is a nice set but the new one looks so superior but, in the end we can say "it's sill the same vehicle" What makes the Slave I always impressive is its unique design. It always has unique pieces (needed to create it's peculiar" look). So despite the more than 1000 pieces of difference between the two sets the Slave I looked more impressive. That's indeed very interesting. It seems it is going to be an epic Lego set
-
I'm really thinking about getting it too. My only dilemma is: the Slave I or the Sandcrawler? As vehicle I prefer the Slave I but as set the crawler seems quite impressive. Well I have several days to decide
-
I'll very happy if those info are not accurate, since I'd really love more sets. Anyway, I guess we don't have other info on the matter (that's the reason I asked: to see if there were other more reliable sources about that matter ) which should make us think the theme is not going to be discontinued soon
-
As I said the quality of the text drastically lowers but it's better than the results I achieved with resizing EDIT: Btw I'd like to ask a little question. Is it allowed by rules to post links to our blogs etc? Right? I saw many people did so I thought it was ok Beside I don't even earn a single cent (depending of your currency ) lol I only do for fun and when I have some spare time. High resolution photos show our works in bette details. It's not the case of few comics but I'm working on few MOCs and dioramas, so I was wondering if it is ok. Sorry if I went a bit off topic I just took the chance to ask. Thank you very much.
