ok so I've been contiplating buying some older sets recently, but I am wondering if Bricklink the pieces individually is a better way to go. I have never actually bought a set in individual pieces before, so I don't know what kind of advantage (if any) this presents. Obviously, it changes depending on the set. But let's say for reference purposes, you wanted to get The Imperial Trading Post. It goes for $225 or more, depending on new vs used and what not. But let's say you can get that set used for $240 with shipping. Do you think it is wiser to buy it via individual pieces? And if so, ballpark how much you think it will cost? I'm just trying to get some informed opinions before I make any decisions, and I'm sure many of you have done this before, so ANY thoughts or opinions you have on this matter I would appreciate. BTW, I meant to say WHOLE set, not WHILE. Stupid autocorrect.

I am very interested in these hints and techniques you discussed. I am a beginner, so excuse my ignorance, but what is aperture? On a side note, you could do a while lesson and I would read it.

(oleon- FB) Admiral Ackbarr's house
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks guys. I'll give everyone a little back ground reguarding this one, my wife actually built it. My daughter has reached the age where lego doesn't hold her interest like it used to. But luckily for me, I've been able to get my hands on her collection, lol. So that's how I was able to mix and match some of these colors. Many of these pieces actually came with a Merida Disney Princess set. -

Yes it is based upon the classic set Lagoon Lock Up. But I built this with none of the official pieces from that set, and modified it and made it my own unique structure. Fort Lagoon

Question. What role do the "yellows" play? I see they have an island. Do they have a government? Fleet? Etc? Are they activly trying to explore? Who controls them? -

City of Loraithian Important Characters Dutchess Marion (left) Duke George (center) Daughter Evangeline (right) Duke George is the First cousin to the great Oleon King. He is also the youngest cousin, to the much older King. The King gave the City of Loraithian and its surrounding lands to his cousin George to command. While Duke George is a nice man overall, he is what people would call "spoiled" or "entitled". He never had to earn anything for himself. Being born of royal blood, Duke George tends to be very selfish. As far as he is concerned, the city of Loraithian, it's army and navy, and gold are his. The only person capable of questioning his judgement is the King himself. But the King has yet to travel to Loraithian. So those that find themeselves in front of Duke George will find his rulings as definitive as if he were a King. Colonel Sanders (left) General Huxtable (right) General Huxtable is the commander of the Loraithian army. He commands all land forces. He is a very proud man, and a cunning warrior. He was a Colonel in the Oleon military, but the King granted him the rank of General, and ordered him to move to Loraithian and command it's armies. His residence is located in Castle Candar. Along with the top clergy men, he is the one of few non royals to reside in the castle. Colonel Sanders is 2nd in command of the Loraithian army. He was promoted to the rank of Colonel by General Huxtable. He also tends to leader of most campaigns. General Huxtable only is seen commanding during major campaigns. Admiral's daughter Elsa (left) Admiral Ackbarr (right) Admiral Ackbarr is the commander of the Loraithian Navy. Ackbarr is a respected member of the Oleon Navy. He was one of the top Captains in the Oleon Navy. He was offered the rank of Admiral, by the King, if he moved to the new city of Loraithian. Commander Stryder (left) Captain John Luke Bacard (center) Lt. Commander Bones (right) See my sig fig entry for info. Captain John Smith Captain John Smith is a young hot shot Captain of the Loraithian Navy. He is not nearly as respected as Bacard, and as a result is quite envious of him. In fact, Smith feels that Bacard is his rival. He wishes the "old man" would get out of the way, so he can Captain The Excalibur. Captain John Smith commands the Loraithian patrol vessel, The Defiant. He also commands both forts located in Loraithian, Fort Lagoon and Fort LaImperial. Smith actually takes up residence in Fort Lagoon. -

Yes those are gatehouse raid sets, as a matter of fact 4 of them make up parts of the castle that pic was taken in front of. I have nearly gotten approval from Oleon command to establish a new city in Lebellan. Which is where these pictures were taken. So look out for more pics and info reguarding that fort/castle and the city that surronds it. As well as the lovely characters that call that city home. -

Captain John Luke Bacard Bacard is the captain of the Oleon vessel The Excalibur. He is a very respected member of the Oleon Navy. While he is very cunning in battle, Bacard's real talent lies in exploration. He is known as one of, if not THE, greatest explorer of his time. Bacard quickly rose through the ranks of the Oleon Navy due to his skill and of course luck. He was the First Officer aboard a small exploration vessel that came under attack of pirates. The Captain of that ship was killed in the battle. Bacard assumed command of the ship, and due to his cunning and guile, managed to out Fox the pirates. When they were chasing them, Bacard led them over a reef that only his small vessel managed to barely make it over. The Pirate ship got stuck on the reef. While the pirates were scrambling to get their ship unstuck, Bacard turned his vessel around and fired! The Pirates were destroyed. This mastery of the seas, got Bacard promoted to Captain. The Oleon Navy has since been wanting to promote Bacard to the rank of Admiral, but Bacard has managed to avoid this promotion. He is happier exploring the seas, commanding his ship, than he would be commanding a fleet. The Excalibur's command crew. (left) Commander Stryder (Center) Captain John Luke Bacard (right) Lt. Commander Bones The Excalibur (smaller brig) The Excalibur is not a large warship. It is meant more for exploration, than for war. It only has 2 guns, but behind the cunning of Captain Bacard, is not a ship to be taken lightly. The ship has an active crew of 6. The Excalibur command crew -

Ok guys (powers that be), I want to place my rather large city on the island of lebellan. I see two other cities already exist, I hope this won't cause any trouble for future game plans. If it does, please advise me. I am waiting for a approval before I proceed.
