BrickLinking (another) 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon
H_Solo replied to Lobot's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think it is still very possible to BL the Falcon for a reasonable price (did the same thing November/December last year...) ended up paying about 800-900 € and did some Changes to the model as well (mod engines, radardish and some additional piping) It's a fantastc build and anyone thinking about doing it should give it a shot!- 290 replies

Ordered a Sith Fury class Interceptor at a decent price today, as long as its still available...

I wanted to check, where I stand costwise with this model, before ordering the instructions... So I downloaded the file, got a .zip-file with 15 separate .txt files in it... do I need to enter all 15 files into the Bricklink wanted list?

Received my replacement stickersheet today, its printed perfectly but it's still the one with the spelling error...

Picked up two Utapau Troopers Battlepacks at a Sale today... Nice figures, but the Spider-thingy is pretty useless...

I agree its nice from a display point of view (like I said, I don't care too much about it anyway...) but the rotating cockpit was always a key play feature with every Slave 1 from Kenner/Hasbro so I think some people (like myself) compare the Lego version to one of those ships.

Nice... Care to post some pictures of your mod? As mine just sits on the stand in the living room, I don't fret too much about it... But I agree it should have been adressed by TLG in the first place...

Wow, that looks totally spot on... Great work! -
Bought "The Ghost" today... Didn' t plan on doing so, but at 79,95 Euro the Price was too good to let it pass...

Great build! I'd love to build this myself... Could you share a parts list, or even instructions please?

Actually, no details to the cargo hold, just the clip to hold the carbonite block and the nicely opening door... the cockpit on the other hand is imho vey detailed, lots of consoles, rods, grilles, weapon holders, a nicely done pilots seat for Boba... But as you can see everthing through this gigantic canopy, it is almost a given to put in some more details there...

Finished mine yesterday! What a fantastic build of this iconic ship. I couldn't stop so I rushed through it in about 4.5 hours... 13 Bags each with surprisingly few but interesting parts. My sticker was printed all right, but with the spelling error of course. Canopy was flawless even its floating inside the box without protection.

DONE! Started out on Christmas Eve... build every day, (a little less on the 26., as we were at my parents house this day...) All in all, I must say, the hardest part was the ordering and keeping track of things... I got sooo much parts left, that I must have ordered too often or as a surplus, but I really can't remember it... also there were a lot of parts missing, so I had to build alternatives or a workaround... I also found two essential parts missing, that I ordered, but LEGO didn't deliver them and I forgot about them as well... The building isn't the problem at all... the build was fun and very short whiled with very little repetition but keeping track of those abundance of parts was a nightmare! I tried to keep it organized with lots of sorting boxes and plastic bags... which did work out all right! I also did build the alternative engine design, that I like very much! I also used a lot of used "old gray" and yellowed parts to get this dirty washed up look... I always saved the most chewed out bricks for the top layers... ;-) Also there are some modifications to the greeblies, the piping and of course the radar dish... not everything is always 100% movie accurate but I think you can never add too much detail to a model of this size! I'm still fine tuning about the piping and overall detailing... still waiting for two or three parts tI ordered last minute over BL to complete the model! So after this tour de force, I cant wait to start my next project... thankfully, I already got the Simpsons house and the AT-AT from my birthday/christmas waiting right here to be build...
