My top choices are the metroliner and the emerald night. I really like the santa fe super chief but to get a good sized train it could cost over 1000$ so thank you everyone for your advice.

I have something against that horrible one piece nose and even smaller platform than the 7938. I would not eagerly buy that train but thank you for replying.

Very nice layout and great collection of trains but the HE should go a little faster than the maersk train just for a more realistic display P.S. The airport is great -
Generally I do like passenger trains better than cargo trains so I will have a better look at the metroliner to to see if it is too my liking. i really love the emerald night but I just found out that the cheapest price on ebay is 500$ I still like the train though regardless of the price so it is still a good option.

perfect to make sure the set does not get dusty or dirty, but is a little pricey. Still like the idea:)

Wow that looks wonderful. I will consider this especially because I love the steamers like yours and the emerald night, but i want to hear everyone else's opinions first. Love the wheels and the sections of the boiler, great job!

Hello everyone, a spot has just opened up on my layout for one more lego train. I was wondering what everyone thinks is the best, and i already have the 7939 yellow cargo train, 7938 red passenger train, horizon express, hogwarts express that is motorized with power functions, one extra set of power functions and 2 4.5 volt trains from the blue track era. I was thinking in the maersk or emerald night but they are both expensive so i can only really get 1 with my budget for lego trains. So please give your feedback and thank you in advance:)

Use the 9 volt system if you are willing to spend a lot of money on equipment or you could use rechargeable aaa batteries and never have to buy batteries for your trains for a long time;) i use good old energizer batteries

i can not stand the lego freinds so i will never help their sales by buying one of their products and the big plane has the engines in the complete wrong place and the massive thing can only fit 3 minidolls, my passenger plane can fit 14!! Do not buy it.

i modified my plane and now it can fit 8 pallets and 12 boxes by opening up the middle

i agree with you and i would replace the heli with an oil tanker because oil tankers have nice circular looks I just love I would make the helicopter seem old and rusty with pieces missing for a scrapyard train but great idea:)

Nice running gear, the entire locomotive goes together really well. I think you should attach some passenger cars with the same color scheme and it will look truly amazing. But just as a locomotive it is a great MOC and good job making a train without basing it on a real thing. Hope you give us a video :)

I just love that loco, the detail and the shape are pretty good for a city set. It has the same style as the yellow cargo train which I have. I think I will get this set just for the loco and the hopper. The rest I would modify.

My longest train is the yellow cargo train with a bunch of misc. 4.5 volt freight cars. How does every one build such massive trains? My cargo train starts to struggle at 6 train cars long. Is there something wrong with the motor or are all power functions motors like that. With these motors there is major wheel skid except on my 4.5 track which has grooves on it.

I would prefer it to be wider so it can have an aisle and i would make it longer and have retractable landing gear. It is not the best set because of the lack of so many features. i do not agree, it is one of the lesser ones

Woo hoo!!!!!, finally a better city cargo train than that 60052, I was not a fan of that train but the new one has a European locomotive :):):):):) I agree
