LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Toa Palpo replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love the sound of the Clone sets and the TIE Bomber, finally after 20 years!! I don't know what the ??? Sets are but man, I hope against hope that one of them is based on the finale of TBoBF. Boba Fett riding a Rancor fighting Cad Bane is too awesome NOT to be a LEGO set and the new Cad Bane tube piece feels like it was made for more than just the Justifier. -

I know, I was just listing all the things the figure was lacking. I think you might be right about the color of the torso and legs. Hopefully it's just tan like in the box art. Also, it looks like his staff is built incorrectly as the gray piece is upside down when compared to the box art. -

The new figures look decent overall but man I'm disappointed with M'Baku. No leg printing, no fur neck piece, his weapon looks unfinished(hopefully it is) the olive green was a very strange choice and should have been dark tan or brown or something. New Ironheart suit looks good but does make me curious about how they're handling her suits in her show. The bulkier mk II type suit from set photos looks really cool and I'd hate to have it immediately overshadowed by her final, comic-accurate suit. BP/Shuri looks fine, assuming that's who that's supposed to be and I also assume there's supposed to be an ear piece to go with it. Okoye looks fine. Hopefully this means the final set will leak soon. I'm really curious about the builds. -
Jurassic World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

So after watching the final season of Camp Cretateous(I won't spoil anything but I thought it was pretty good and the ending was perfect imo), I decided to go back and re-watch the series again(well seasons 1-3) and man, I really hope this theme continues and we can get some sets based on different seasons of the show. There is so much set potential and so many dinos they could do and I desperately want a LEGO adult Bumpy! It wouldn't be hard for them to do, as I've said in the past, I'd be perfectly satisfied with a straight recolor of the existing Ankylosaurus mold just with some different printing on the face. Maybe put her in a season 3 inspired set(by far the best season imho), throw in variants of a couple other campers, have the build be their tree house that they built(yes we kinda got that in the 4+ set buy that was a 4+ set), make it a showdown set with the Scorpius Rex. The Scorpius would also be easy for them to do, just basically use the Indoraptor body and legs with the new Indominus Rex arms, and give us a new mold for the head, they can even recycle the Carnotaurus' bottom jaw and *boom*, there you go. A new tail piece for it with the spines would be great too but I could easily see them skimping on that. The ruins of the Jurassic Park visitor's center would also be an awesome basis for a set, maybe throw in the other Scorpius Rex and Blue with a couple of the other campers, maybe a Compy or 2 and there you go. Heck, watching the scenes of the kids using the vending machine and old scaffolding to evade Blue in season 3 made me really wish we could get a Skywalker Saga-esque video game treatment for the Jurassic franchise some day, especially now that the JW trilogy is complete and we have a complete 5 season series for them to base levels and characters on too. Overall, the show wasn't perfect but I thoroughly enjoyed it and the dinos and characters in it and I really hope LEGO gives us at least one or 2 sets next year inspired by the show. Whatever it takes to get adult Bumpy and wild Ben in LEGO form, I'll take it! -

The buildable Spider-men actually look really good. I kinda hope they make a bunch of these. I'd love Ghost Rider in this style! -

The scythe has shipped! Just in time for my 2 week vacation to start tomorrow. I can't wait to put it together and display it next to Vader's castle. -

Ooh, I really like the Sunbird now! It looks so much better folded out like it is on the front of the box. Namor's Throne is still the best set and Shuri's sub looks so much bigger and better on the back of the box, definitely helps justify the price. I still think it can attach to the Sunbird in some way. The figures all look incredible, they all get excellent leg printing and despite some inaccuracies with hair and lack of facial hair on Namor, I really like these. Attuma might be my favorite but he is sorely lacking shoulder armor and the spear piece is woefully inadequate in representing his very cool, unique looking weapon in the movie. I'm very happy we're getting M'Baku, he might be my favorite Wakandan character. Based on the box art, it sadly looks like he too will not be getting any sort of shoulder armor and will also have a disappointing build for his weapon. He absolutely should have gotten the Kraven fur collar piece. Also, it doesn't look like he's getting any leg printing which is really unfortunate. The new Okoye looks great too but again, appears to be lacking leg printing. I'm really looking forward to seeing the $80 set and what other figures we might get. Sounds like we're at least getting Namora and I really think we'll get a repeat of Namor, just with the headress and maybe a cape. Still crossing my fingers for that War Whale(tm) but most likely it'll be some sort temple structure either Wakandan or Talocan. -

Definitely glad to hear there's an $80 set left to be revealed, fingers and toes crossed for war whale That figure has to be Attuma, it definitely looks like Attuma and I don't see any generic warriors wearing that elaborate hammerhead skull headress. If there were, it would make Attuma less special and not as easy to pick out of a crown which doesn't sound like something they would do. Anyway, looking forward to the offical reveal. -

Wait, I thought that was Attuma not just a generic Talocan soldier. Well that's a bit disappointing but it still has a cool new hammerhead shark skull headress. The sets themselves look pretty good and the figures are excellent but I can't help but be a bit disappointed in the lack of more Aztec-inspired architecture and the like. Also, like I had come up with in a previous comment, how awesome would a "war whale" have been!? I can't remember, are these the only sets for WF or are we getting more that have yet to be revealed? Namor's throne is definitely a must-have. Excellent figures in a fairly small inexpensive set. Would reeaally love a brick-built blue whale though... -

So after thinking about what we saw in the trailer and imagining what sets we could get for WF, I really want a brick-built Blue Whale! It appears to act like an Atlantean troop carrier, I bet it's even called a War Whale. It could have spots all over it for minifigs to latch onto and because LEGO sets have to have action features, I could totally see them incorporate the newer larger launcher brick positioned vertically in the body of the whale to act as a blow hole and they could use the newer trans blue water blast piece that's been used for City firefighter sets as the water spouting out the top that can be launched at whomever is unfortunate enough to be swimming above it. I could also see there being some sort of "attack on the fishing boat" kind of set that would pair nicely with my idea for a whale set. Regardless, there is some really great potential for really cool sets just based on the trailer alone! Oh also side note, I hope any figures of Namor we get have his ankle wings printed on the sides of the legs. -

I knew Kuill would be an exclusive figure as soon as I heard about a UCS Razor Crest but WOW that his horrendous. It looks like a basset hound and it's waaay too big. -

Ooor maybe somebody at the office accidentally mixed one piece of Thor L&T concept art in with the Spider-man NWH concept art when designing the sets really, the Sanctum Workshop scorpion monster fits waaay more with the Thor L&T monster. Still, I can't help but wonder how on earth they came up with the awful design we got when it looks absolutely nothing like any of the monsters we saw. It looks like a 5 year old's drawing come to life. -

The figures from the Justifier look amazing! I didn't expect a new piece for Bane's tubes, I assumed they'd use the old one but the new piece is perfect, just wish they were gunmetal, not silver. The rest of the figure looks incredible, as does Omega and Todo, so glad they're giving us so many new droid molds this year! -

I just built mine last night and I agree, I really like it and I'm also hoping for an ep1 version again at some point. I've held off on N-1s until now despite loving the ship because I don't think LEGO has been able to successfully recreate its shape. This is the closest they've gotten despite it being huge and heavily modified. I also really love the little BD droid and I look forward to getting BD-1 to go with it. LEGO, if you're listening give us a green one and a yellow one too, I need a full compliment of BD droids in different colors to represent different BD-1 skins! At the very least a green one because that's the skin I used in the game. -

Then agree to disagree because that set was straight trash, I don't care how much it cost. No red eyes for Vader, are you kidding me!?!?!? Then why on Alderaan would they give him red eyes on the box for the Kenobi sets! *sigh* At least NED-B looks amazing and the set has a lot more going on with it than it initially appears and I like all the functions. I don't understand what people really expected after seeing ep3. Still peeved by the lack of red eyes on Vader though, almost feels like false advertising. It's even worse than tBoBF box art where Boba's armor is the correct color while the actual figure's armor is not, that could be chalked up to the tone of ink used for the art, this however was a deliberate choice to give him red eyes in the art. -

False. The FO AT-ST set exists. You have got to be kidding right? Here, I highlighted the important pat for you... I actually quite like the duel set. I thought it would be an easy pass but actually seeing it now I really want it. I wasn't expecting the other 2 figures so they're a pleasant surprise. My only concern is whether or not Vader is actually going to have red eyes. -

The Nano Gauntlet looks really good. Sinister Strange looks pretty nice, though I'm definitely more interested in Zombie Strange, fingers-crossed he gets his demon cape too, that was one of my favorite moments in the film and it was just so cool to see how he used it. Maybe a unique cloth mold or I could see it just being made from 4 minifig bat wing pieces attached to a neck bracket with some clips. -

The Bad Batch trailer has me very excited, I'm so happy Gungi survived Order 66 and it gives me hope Byph did too and hopefully he'll be in the show too. I really liked the Jedi Padawans from those episodes in Clone Wars so I'm glad they survived(or presumably the rest survived too) I could definitely see them being recurring characters in multiple shows and hopefully something live-action. I'm getting ahead of myself though. Hopefully Gungi is in the show enough to warrant him getting his own minifig(and Fingers-crossed for Byph, I love Ithorians and I love the Ithorian mold), same goes for Imperial Cody, especially since they're already making a new mold for ep3 Cody and they like to reuse new molds. We'll definitely get updated versions of the Batch and maybe even Cid too since she's back for another season and seems to be just as prominent. -

I really like the Andor set, I just wish it had a couple more figures to better fill out the dropship but otherwise I quite like it. A bit pricey though. Omega looks great, looking forward to seeing the Justifier set she comes in. -

Wow! So first, the Delta-7 looks like a nice improvement minus the awful new stud shooters. Tan Wei looks amazing, it's so nice to finally get a Kaminoan. I'm glad this Obi-Wan comes with his hood and cloak print and I like that the radar dish comes with it too. I can't tell from the pictures but I wonder if R4 has back printing like the new R2's have. The Scythe, just wow! Incredible build, impressive design and to s of space in the interior and a nice cockpit section--- and tbe minifigs! All 4 figures look incredible and are absolute must-haves! Now I don't feel so bad about missing out on the Inquisitors from the Rebels sets, the new ones look so good and I love this design for Obi-Wan with the new hair piece and the poncho with blue outfit, this set has flown(heh) to the top of my list! -

I certainly do. The original one is too specific of a design to be very reusable and it was already way over-used, the 2nd one went too far in the other direction and doesn't have a flip-up visor. This new one is the perfect middle ground. It's a little too big but it's not that bad and it's waaay better for represening many different suit designs than the other two designs. -

Luckily I was able to watch the review before it was taken down, absolutely love it I'm so hyped for this set! Energon axe could have been done better and the lack of knees is unfortunate but overall it's very impressive and I'm so happy it can transform. -

I 100% agree with this, it's the best new dino mold imo but Ankylosaurus is also my favorite dinosaur so I'm a bit biased. The hollow head is definitely the worst part about it, I feel like there could have been a better comrpomise. I really, really want an adult Bumpy from this mold! Honestly I don't expect them to remold the whole piece just for the horn though, and realistically they probably won't. I'll just be happy with a remold in teal with new face printing. Yeah I agree and honestly I'm totally fine with that. We know by now how LEGO likes to reuse dino molds whenever possible and this would certainly be the least egregious thing they could do. It would be a lot of expense and effort on their part just to create a new mold with one horn slightly smaller. I really love how they did the Ankylosaurus and the tail swinging feature is so simple yet so addicting! The rubbery-ness of the tail was a necessary safety feature but I definitely agree that it makes it feel more natural. The way the Anky was designed and built was really smart too, they could very easily use a similar setup for a future Stegosaurus.
