  1. Arsenal fan here. I like the new additions but ugh...sometimes watching this team is like pulling teeth. Lack of intensity at times and poor defensively for years now. Vermaelen has been pretty terrible since becoming captain, and Andre Santos is absolutely terrible. We might have "only" lost 2-1 to Manchester United but it was a complete walk in the park for Man U. I am loving the fact that Manchester City is struggling mightily in Champions League. Even if they overtake Ajax sooner or later (who actually looked more impressive than Man City when the 2 played), there's absolutely no way Madrid or Dortmund will falter that badly to let Man City take 2nd in that group. Just goes to show that to win in Europe you need more than money and random talent. Tactics play an even bigger part.
  2. LUCKY. I've heard from one of the employees working at the Fairview Mall locations that they get some really good perks in terms of pricing for employees.
  3. So I looked at the Holiday Catelogue the other day, and I did not see the Fire Brigade listed. Perhaps after multiple false alarms this set is finally being retired?
  4. I remember seeing these announced and wanting them all. Wonder how to get them in Canada...
  5. I use to play Bad Company 2 somewhat regularly on the PC. I mainly used medic so that I could be actually useful healing and reviving people despite having a poor shot . Nice MOC
  6. Greece is expected to just park the bus against Germany. Will see how that goes.
  7. I remember seeing the older version of the Sopwith Camel when I was a kid and thinking that I really wanted it. This set gives me a new chance at getting it. Does anyone have a comparison of this set with the older one?
  8. Alright...this is gonna be super embarrassing... I have probably over 30/40 sets right now that I have not opened that (nor have I opened up one recently in many months; last one I opened was the Creator Log Cabin back in like October)...though at least I do have an excuse. I just flat out don't have the room to display any more that I build. I buy the sets on sale but then have no room to put them anywhere. The list of sets I haven't opened is quite large...they range from small City sets to Green Grocer, UCS Falcon, Fire Brigade etc.
  9. Arjen Robben going down the right, then trying to cut in the middle is ridiculously overdone. That's the only thing he does. He's a good player and all but he's selfish, and everyone knows what he's trying to do with his lack of ability on his right foot. Not necessarily "cheering" for Germany but they were my pick to win this tournament. Good to see them go through. Hummels and Ozil are playing real well. The organized fashion the Germans play with is really a thing to watch. Spain CAN beat Germany, but I think that depends all on Fernando Torres. They may be reigning champions, but if they're expecting they can play 6 midfielders with no striker to beat the Germans, that ain't happening. They need an actual striker to finish all the chances they create. If Torres plays like this then Spain isn't winning against Germany (if they meet). If he's playing well and in form, then there's a decent enough chance.
  10. The Wembley Stadium set doesn't look bad. On a side note, I doubt England's going anywhere in this year's tourney...it's made up of mostly Liverpool players and they were crap this year.
  11. Being an Arsenal fan, that was the worst I've seen Van Persie (his club team is Arsenal) play in a LONG time. The Danish team became much more willing to attack after their goal. Netherlands was wasting chances everywhere but they did have a few good opportunities that were stopped well by Denmark's defense.
  12. First of all Lego Otaku, thanks for the review. To me, the excess amount of stickers is one thing that's a turnoff (I rarely if ever put stickers on these days). What I'm getting for $100 Canadian, or if I were to get it from B&N at about the American MSRP, is underwhelming IMHO. I'm paying strictly for the minifigures, which is the only thing that would get me to buy this set. Lynx, your little series of pictures almost makes this set interesting. Almost .
  13. I'm considering buying this set only because of Gandalf. It's a relatively cheap set to get at least 2 of the main characters. It's priced at $16 in Canada and for some stupid reason I feel Like I'm willing to pay that price.
  14. Nice review. Good looking set, compliments some of the recent Creator sets. That Lighthouse from last year for sure. If I kinda force it, can also work with the Log Cabin. Almost makes me wanna get that terrible Marina set (IMHO) from City to go along with this set. All 3 of the builds are also appealing to me.
  15. Still clearly in-stock but just for the sake of throwing it out there, I got the latest Lego summer catalogue, and I did not see the Fire Brigade listed.
  16. Same here. I'm not really a fan of the original set but yours is appealing to me.
  17. LEGO doesn't care about Canadians. (see Canadian prices for details)

    mail cart

I think that's a play on of mailmen having to deal with angry dogs of the houses that they have to deliver mail to, having to deliver the mail to the house without being bit by an angry dog.
  19. I missed out on the old one back when I was younger...I remember seeing it in the Lego magazine back when I was like 10/11 and thinking that I wanted it. Wanted to ask my parents to buy it for me but was too much to ask. Hopefully I will get a chance to get this one this time around. at it being $130 Canadian though compared to the $100 American price tag.
  20. Finally got around to seeing multiple pictures of this thing (still haven't gotten around to seeing the press release though)...looks beautiful. I know the Pet Shop came out before this and I should get that before Town Hall but this looks almost too good for me to wait until I have the Pet Shop first. Will need to make some time to go to a local Lego store to see this in person.
  21. Alright, I'm deciding between 4439 Heavy-Duty Helicopter or 6864 The Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase. Both sets are regularly $65 Canadian but I'm getting them on sale for about 20% off. Any thoughts? Answer needs to be ASAP as its a one-day thing.
  22. Not really a question as to which set to buy, but was rather looking for more opinions on this set as Eurobricks only has one review...I've been looking at the 8157 Ferrari F1 1:9 recently and am looking at this set in pure awe. I was wondering if anyone else has this set and could offer some input on it?
  23. I'm just wondering, has anyone seen the 4206 Recycling Truck anywhere in Ontario other than at the Lego stores, at like ToysRUs or Walmart or whatever?
  24. Bit of a bump but I remember hearing how there are still plenty of Series 5 minifigures available...I was wondering if anyone could list me a few places in Ontario, Canada that might still have these? I'm looking to get one more graduate minifigure as a gift.
  25. April is earliest I want this set of minifigures, not any sooner...need some time to recoup and refresh after just finishing Series 6 (got my full set recently) to prepare for the next series. That wedding bride would make a nice gift...
