  1. Can't find the 7599 Garbage Truck Getaway in like 5 different Toys R Us that I have called/checked :( . Seriously, half-price is the only way that set doesn't seem like a rip-off. The original MSRP of $60 is absolutely ridiculous. EDIT: Found a set finally at Yonge & Eglinton Toys R Us.
  2. ^If it was Richmond Hill, much easier for me.
  3. About time...but ugh about the location. Sherway Gardens? Not very easy for me to access. Those more educated in demographics and economics and all that stuff, what's the reasoning behind opening up a store in Calgary before Toronto?
  4. This review plus your comment is what's making me want to buy this set. Indeed the Seaplane would look nice with this set.
  5. Thanks for everyone that responded to my question earlier. Indeed it is a bit redundant to get both of those trucks. With that money saved, I have a new question...10199 Winter Toy Shop (which I can get online for 20% off $79.99 from ToysRUs at the moment, but still pay about $8 in shipping), or 4840 The Burrow (which possibly could be part of Zellers in Canada's B1G1 50% off all Lego this week if Zellers carries any of the Harry Potter stuff, which I am not sure about)? Which set would you get when without factoring in what I said in brackets, and what difference would it make if I add all that extra info from the brackets?
  6. I already have the 7848 ToysRUs City Truck and was wondering since I already have that, is there a point to getting 3221 Lego City Truck or is it somewhat pointless to get 3221? I realize that the difference between the two are the colour it comes in, the mini ToysRUs store and employee minifigure, while the 3221 has more of those mini Lego sets to accompany it.
  7. I got this huge Mega Bloks Motor Sport Build and Race when I was a kid and I absolutely loved it. Back then, I knew there was a difference between Lego and Mega Bloks but that set I loved it as a child. My cousin got this Planetoids set after I got my Motor Sport thing. He had it setup also and liked it but later gave it to me as he got older. I never got around to building the Planetoids set for myself but when he had it at his house, the thing was pretty cool. I believe these are the only 2 Mega Bloks sets I own. I do remember the blocks not holding onto each other that well even back then but didn't prevent me from having fun with it. I haven't bought Mega Bloks again simply because their sets do not really appeal to me. The Halo sets do look half-decent though.
  8. I'm considering getting the 7239 Firetruck and then one of 7638 Tow Truck or 3179 Repair Truck. The firetruck retails for $30 while the tow truck and the repair truck retail for $18. I do have a 20% off coupon though. I guess a better question would be how do you guys rank those 3 sets?
  9. Bump.... The pictures originally in this review are no longer up so I was wondering if anyone else had a review/opinion/pics of this set? It retails for $30 here in Canada but right now there's a 20% off coupon I can use and was considering this set.
  10. Great review though personally it has turned me off from buying this set. I've been waiting for this set to go on sale at stores around me (which it finally is this week) but seeing each part up close with your pics I'm disappointed and I'm gonna pass on it. Still, I stress that you did a great job with this review .
  11. Everyone sometime says something like that, time for the obligatory: In Soviet Russia, Lego builds YOU!
  12. I haven't ever bought a Harry Potter themed Lego set before but damn...this one is quite appealing to me. The $200 CAD MSRP is quite steep though for whatever reason it hits me as reasonable (which is really rare for me; kinda odd); it'll probably hit me sooner or later that I'm overpaying... Lego really enjoys raping my wallet don't they...
  13. Are you talking about all of it or is the first post up to date? Some of the Town sets intrigue me but I'm wondering how much it would be to ship to Canada...
  14. Alright, I'm back in this thread with yet another question: Option 1: 7642 Garage, 5891 Apple Tree House, and 21006 The White House all three together for a grand total of $191.45 Canadian. OR Option 2: 10197 Fire Brigade or 10211 Grand Emporium (likely Fire Brigade as it's the older one and will end production sooner) for $225.99 Canadian?
  15. Ended up getting the Green Grocer from the Canadian Toysrus website. Here in Canada, Toysrus is having a 20% off Atlantis, Creator, Prince of Persia, Kingdom themed sets on both the site and in-store. On the website, the Modular Houses are under creator and thus 20% off $219.99. Ended up paying a little more than $198 for it (free shipping but like 13% tax where I live). Was REALLY close to pulling the trigger and buying one more set (the Grand Emporium or Fire Brigade) but ended up holding myself back and just bought the one. Good thing I woke up early though...on the day the sale started I was up at 6am and placed an order for the Green Grocer. At about 9am to check back on the website, a select number of sets on sale (in particular the 3 modular houses, plus some other sets) were all out of stock. Either a lot of people bought them or I'm thinking Toysrus purposely changed the stock count quickly soon after the sale began (and then watch the sets magically go back in stock right after this sale ).
  16. I bought one set of the Family House and with the picture comparison between the original and yours...man am I ever jealous and wish I could turn mine into what you've done. You've tempted me into buying a second set so that I could do something similar but since I'm not a MOC kinda guy, I could never build something like that... Anyways, well done. Looks so much more complete. (y)
  17. Indeed. For some reason the GG is $219.99 while GE and FB are $199.99 each. But I agree with both of your statements about getting Green Grocer first since it's going out of production sooner.
  18. I want to get one of the modular houses that are still available (Fire Brigade, Green Grocer, Grand Emporium). Fire Brigade seems to be third on my list while I`m stuck between Green Grocer and Grand Emporium. I`m not sure which of those two I should get...Any pointers? As much as I want to collect all the modular buildings, I only have enough to spare to buy one at the moment.
