Yeah, i get it, was just the phrasing. Though the first line was him providing new info from his source then him going on to talk about his thoughts on the leaks. The further confirmation threw me off. :P

Oh ok, my error, was just the phrasing of one of your recent comments.

I was referring to this, unless he was just speculating, though he specified it was him getting further confirmation; Edit; Turns out it was just speculation.

The most recent leak, the sharer provided the source site which is connected with Lego and has been for a long time and has been the souce of several prior leaks in the past. The website itself having a history with leaks. Twistlaw also just stated that Umurak is black and green supporting this leak. Though yes, as stated prior, we should remain skeptical until the leaked images appear. I feel you need to clarify who you mean.

Maybe they scrapped the idea of a secondary mask and a skull spider and instead made the mask from three colours - it does mention a melded mask with a secondary transparent colour. Maybe that implies two transparent colours plus the normal colour. E.g. we'd start getting masks with three colours combined? two of which being transparent === Will try and talk with him more soon (Tommorow probably) and see if he can get his friend to clarify any details on what he means.

Out of all of it, this interests me the most given its difficult to do functions as it is, let alone with a protector-scale set. "melded mask w/ secondary transparent color" Not entirely sure the exact connotations of that... He worded things differently over on the boards - decided to put all his wordings in the spoilers below;

So apparently the sets were momentarily leaked on a foreign website Unfortunately pics were not taken however info has been relayed. Take with a large grain of salt as only going off their words; Info was relayed to me over a different communication software prior to him posting it, hence the wording being slightly different

I suppose it is... Thanks :) Though was hoping we'd get some information about the small sets as they intrigue me more. Anyone who wanted to buy the Toa at this stage would probably have brought them at this stage. There are a few members on 4chan who mentioned Walmart had a sale on recently selling the mid-sized toa for $1 simply because they wanted to get rid of them before the Summer sets arrived. By the time the Winter Wave is released the Summer wave will be off most shelves and the 2015 winter wave will be removed from the Lego site. The leak of the 2016 winter wave images would not really have any affect on sales of the sets - other than the potential for people to make knock-off's, though that happens anyway between the official reveal and release. If anything leaks drive up the search engine results for Bionicle when waiting for leaks - combined with the mutliple hashtags, messages, videos and fan-art when the leaks arrive. It helps brand awareness a majority of the time and can even introduce new people to Bionicle. Take for example the return of Bionicle, without the 'hype train' caused by the leaks, the line would have returned as a suprise to many of us whose wallets would have been unprepared resulting in less sales. Fans of the CCBS system would have been left with no information on whether Hero Factory would return (Given its cancellation has only been mentioned in an official capacity via a leak) Initial worries about CCBS being completely scrapped were quelled for many via seeing the new sets and for a large majority seeing the leaks actually helps them plan their purchases so they can get more Bionicle sets. Multiple fans made videos based around the return of Bionicle convincing several bio-tubers to also return - the fan-art of the redesigned Tahu is probably what convinced a majority of fans to have faith and be invested in the line. Fan-art that came about early due to the leaks. Leaks also made us aware of the inclusion of Merlin Mann, without the leaks we would'nt have had people interviewing hiim or the community interaction we currently have. Its even possible that due to these interactions Merlin may have reported back to Lego on some ideas of how to improve the animations. A lot of the desires of fans, such as for set names and information have been noticed by Lego at an earlier stage due to the leaks which is probably why we now have names for every winter set after a wave of sets with no specific name. Just saying that with toys, leaks actually help the fanbase a lot more than damaging the brand. Though i agree that certain types of leaks do damage the brand, such as the leaks of the book and the leaks of the animations. These damage the brand in the sense that one may be less likely to buy the book if they've read it already. With the animations, it was simply a case of once the animations were leaked, we didnt have anything to discuss.

Not again He's like Skull Scorpio, he disappears from promotional material occasionally for no reason Its not a new pose, or atleast, not one we have'nt seen before. We had a picture a while back that seemed to be an altered version of the Mask Maker Vs Skull Grinder box art intended for some sort of poster. It featured that Tahu design along with Ekimui jumping at Skull Grinder as he tries to melt the Mask Of Creation.

Chances are you'd have more luck finding them in other stores, rather than the Lego shops, probably those hoping to make more money via selling the sets before the release date and before Christmas. Physical Lego stores tend to stick to the release date a majority of the time. Online is definitely unlikely as they tend to update on January 1st-3rd depending on what day it is. Some locations will get the sets online a month later - an example being that the US release of the Summer villains this year was August while the UK got them in July.

We should get clarity on that soon, either from Twistlaw's source or via leaks which are to be believed to be coming from catalogues this week. I guess if they changed the mask-popping feature enough we could get something similar to the flinging-Kraata or the throwing-Krana functions from the Rahkshi and Bohrok Hopefully we do get some more of those battle-worn pieces as would be useful for MOC'ing

So theory time; The concept art depicts Kopaka being rescued from LoSS via Tahu and Onua - guessing this is part of Revenge of the Skull Spiders. They appear to be in some sort of cavern, so i'm guessing this is after the events of the Summer animations - where LoSS fell down off the bridge and is currently making a base in the area the Skull Villains were located underneath the ancient city.
-
Its fine, we all derp occasionally xD Look forward to hearing any tidbits to keep us going until the leaks get here :P Yeah, make sense. What i'm wondering though is how much of that concept art will eventually be transitioned to story, as others have pointed out Kopaka seems to be trapped in one of those cages and if the Toa are fighting LoSS again would it be non-canon or just a sidequest?

Oh - and that reminds me. Someone on 4chan pointed out the following; Along with this; Essentially they believe the differences are because these are intended to be the 2016 versions of the Toa, retaining much the same body just with new leg/shoulder armour, masks and weapons. Though admittedly they could be concept art changes Though personally i'm more intrigued with what is happening - this being an event that doesnt appear to be part of the 2015 storyline and could possibly be part of the 2016 storyline. --- After chatting with a few people about it, the general consensus is that this is concept art for one of the graphic novels depicting the return of LoSS

Its alright, i'm the same at the moment, just interested in getting leaks so we can get a teaser of what is to come. Especially concerning the upgraded Toa, given i'd like to know ahead of time whether they'll be worth getting after getting the 2015 versions - depends how much variation they have. Hopefully the catalogue thing is true as it could mean leaks would happen fairly soon - though its unfortunate that those who get the catalogue dont seem to be willing to share if it is true.

Well, to be fair at this stage they are amnesiac's who have probably had less than a week to adapt to Okoto. The only information they've been told is how 'awesome' they are and how important they are - but nobody has really given them any training or anything. As for Lewa, he is scouting ahead to see what was beyond that wall because the other Toa were wondering what was behind the wall. Its actually a smart tactic to know what would be behind the wall before you take the wall down. Well, Ekimu is likely from the Earth elemental tribe. Cannot speak for Makuta, though i'd guess he would be the same given they are 'brothers'

Any more word on the anonymouse catalogue dude? The 'creature shooting stuff from it's mouth' sounds intriguing though might just be stuff gathered from other leaks that we've had. Also, Just2good said he doesnt have any info on Bionicle sets. It seems someone has been spreading rumours about him having info.

Yeah makes sense they'd keep them mostly the same - just wondering how similar they'll end up being. Too similar and they would'nt match the updated armour designs - too different and they'd risk losing the association with the character as you mentioned.

I'm actually wondering just how different the new masks for the Toa will be. Sure they were but its not clear how different they are from the old versions. We could end up seeing very similar designs or we could end up seeing radically different designs - its going to be interesting to see. Well, canisters returning seems unlikely so at the moment it seems a choice between either bags or boxes. Personally prefer the boxes as pieces are less likely to be bent as they were with the bag sets i got for Chima and Hero Factory. Could see us getting one trans-clear mask as another exclusive. Trans-clear armour would'nt really add much to the set given it would show the bones, but combined with the trans-clear bones it might be interesting. Silver Toa masks would also be pretty cool, though would prefer to get the new masks in gold and varying shades/colours also.

Yeah, cant really see them updating Kopaka too much if he is in a combo pack. I'm expecting him to actually be demoted to a medium-toa sized similar to Lewa, Pohatu and Gali with a slightly larger creature than the rest. That way it would balance out, given how the MMVSG set turned out, i'm not expecting Kopaka to be as bulky or large. Issue is with updating is that they didnt really introduce any new pieces recently other than the legs, torso and shoulder pads of the Star Wars CCBS sets, so they dont have much we are currently aware of which they can do to alter/upgrade the Toa into new forms. Yeah, they are probably wild, similar to the idea of the elemental lords from G1 in that they represent the elements. Though if they are wild, wondering if that means the Toa named them... That would be amazing, fingers crossed that happens. Though worried they might be clone sets or have clone masks (similar to the protectors). Not sure how much variance the size/price/parts range would allow in terms of sets. The medium sets are priced around the same amount as the previous smaller Toa sets. They could end up being more complicated after all we did have LoSS - i'm just expecting them to be roughly the same size and piece count as the previous versions - just with new armour, weapons, masks and feet.

Though yeah, thoughts. Creatures; Interested to see what these look like given the title of Creatures and the fact they have names implies they will have some form of interaction with the Toa. Do they have masks? Are they bipedal or quadrupeds? Lots of questions that will hopefully be answered soon. Guessing they will include a new function replacing the blasters the Protectors had. Medium Sets; Out of all the levels, this one disappoints me the most. Even if we are getting upgraded sets of Lewa, Pohatu and Gali they are still stuck in the smaller set category which means they may not have the same level of complexity or size as the other Toa. Thought they may have switched it around or atleast bumped them up to the larger sets. Large sets; The lack of Kopaka and his ice creature seems odd, guessing he may be an exclusive set or combo pack. Something along those lines might actually be rather interesting to see. Not really interested in getting Tahu or Onua again unless the builds have massively changed, same goes for the other Toa to be completely honest as not sure how many new armour pieces they can introduce in a single wave. Umarak does interest me though due to the idea of a Toa-sized villain, though he still seems to pale in comparison to the rest of the good guy sets. We desperately need a titan set in the Summer to balance things out. === Hope to see leaks soon.

Theorising; The Toa are weak, the battle with Skull Grinder having proved this. As such Ekimu upgrades them and they go off to find allies in the form of elemental creatures. Makuta, realising the strength of these creatures, sends a Hunter to capture the creatures before the Toa. Same, he gives off a Lord Garmadon vibe in that he doesnt seem entirely evil and that his motivations dont make sense if they are his own. Would go under the viewpoint that the MoUP has a sentient level to it, possibly manipulating or controlling Makuta since he put it on.

The list i made was never intended as being solid proof, merely the combination of the list of names from two seperate sources - the more recent source at the time Brickpicker along with the other source of names we had floating around at the time relayed by Willess12. We know now that the numbers are incorrect, yet we have a set which at one stage may have been called 'Mask Hunter' We never had any confirmation on whether the ghosts came in Winter or Summer - we just have two source stating about several ghost sets. The lack of ghosts in Winter doesnt mean either of the sources are incorrect. Once again feeling its best not to jump to assumption that it is fake at this stage until after we see what the creature sets look like. The 4chan leak can still be real because it listed the idea of one four-legged set being made into 6 and provided a drawing listing it as a small creature- and now we have six small sets with the label of Creature. The other name leak listing the ghost sets could also still be real given it did list 'Mask Hunter' which may have been an early name for Umurak - despite the previously mentioned numbers.
