Yeah, it doesnt make much sense doing blended masks for the skull villains. I'm just a collector at heart and i'm hoping we get a full wave of the masks in each type xD Chances are we wont though, which is why the presence of the trans-Skull Scorpio mask confuses me because it doesnt have a story purpose as far as we know. Its the same as the gold mask for Kulta, it isnt particularly something expected because it is not known to be gold in the story at any point. So it comes out of nowhere when we get a gold mask for a villain. Though i suppose the theme is that we'll get a golden mask for the villains for each wave. Hopefully that will continue as would be nice to have a Gold mask to represent each wave's villains. I just hope we do actually get an entire collection of gold masks if they are going to do the gold masks. I really dont want Skull Scorpio/Basher's mask to be missing. Yep... o_o I dont mind gold, it just doesnt match the character so i cant see me putitng it on the figure. I suppose the intention is that it is for when we eventually get Makuta, he can be surrounded by Gold masks that enable him to control each of the villains (or something similar). Yet at the moment its just a golden version of his mask, which while a nice addition (Given its in a polybag that will hopefully be easy to acquire) doesnt really add to the Skull Grinder set. It doesnt really detract from the fact its a cool mask or the previously mentioned enjoyment that can come from having masks to represent the villains for each wave (Trophies?) - its just not quite the direction i thought they'd go.

Either of these in black would also be awesome :3 Well now that we have the Kulta mask in gold... we really have no idea what other masks they'll release given we have'nt got a complete set of any of the masks in any of the colours (other than normal i suppose if that counts) Closest we get is having a gold version of each of the masks, though we miss out on Skull Scorpio's/Skull Basher's mask in Gold. Same goes for the trans-gold masks and the trans-coloured masks and the trans-clear masks - we're missing a few from each of those. I'm guessing the blended Tahu and Gali masks are replaced with either the Hero Pack Hau or the NYCC clear Hau along with the Lego Event Gali Mask - so i doubt we'll see them get blended versions now as it would also require doing blended versions for the rest of the villains to justify the existence of the Skull Scorpio mask.

Given the 'Hunter' title of one of them this matches up with some of the ghost name leaks and stuff from February/May. Those included this drawing with the poster mentioning the idea of it being turned into a couple of sets - this may be what we are getting in replacement of the protectors if this most recent name leak is real. So we may have an idea of what those 6 sets would look like. Though yeah, no pictures yet from what i can find.Guess they are coming soon though. Probably within the next two weeks or so at this rate.

It could honestly be any character at this stage, just due to the names matching with the prior leaks we have a vague idea of what we might be getting. This information included a large toa-sized Ekimu figure and given Ekimu has been called the Mask Maker before he could be given a new title if released in a new form. Also judging by the names and likely release dates, i'm not seeing any other name that could fit the Ekimu toa-sized title other than Mask Hunter;

Same, was just basing the layout on this year. The 6 smaller sets are likely all villains though so atleast it will be slightly more balanced this year in terms of villains fighting heroes. Mask Hunter is probably the Toa-Ekimu - probably the larger variant like Tahu or Kopaka Ghost King i'm guessing will either be a titan-sized figure or will be another battle-pack like 'Mask Maker Vs Skull Grinder' given that set will probably have the Mask Of Control

So mixed with the other leaks this means we've known the 2016 sets since February/May 2015... Just let that sink in for a moment, we've known the 2016 sets before we knew the 2015 Summer sets. Thats amazing xD @Mandate New gearbox would be cool, though from the 4chan information on the Toa-Sized Ekimu i think the main drive is just newer futuristic looking armour pieces and platinum coloured pieces. Basically the Star Wars armour via the drawings. I suppose, but by that logic; - very few parents would buy the Toa for their kids as the protectors are cheaper - the collectability factor of mask collection would be dead for most fans - sets like the Toa would'nt be selling as well as they are claimed to be amongst new targety-age-range fans Given the release date and the title combined with the 80 pages not expecting anything more than covering the winter and possibly summer 2015 wave. We must tell everyone of the legend of Onya - Master Of Earth and the rest of the Tor as they continues to travel on the island of Okto, to re-awaken the great Ekimo. Along the way they must fight the mighty Skull Basher with his Doomdeath spikes!

I think it depends on how relevant the MoT is to the story, at the moment its only been used to summon the Toa in conjunction with the Temple Of Time - it may not appear again until when the Toa need to return to where they came from. Though you are right, it would probably be as another mask in an expensive set, could see them lumping it in a set with a protector-sized Maktua fighting a toa-sized being. Similar to the MMvSG set as you said (Makuta with the Mask Of Control, a temple guardian of some kind and the two fighting over the Mask Of Time)

I know they are probably doing the G1 refrences, having similar named characters with identical personalities and stuff for good reasons, but is anyone else getting to the stage where the G1 stuff is detracting from their ability to appreciate the good aspects of Gen 2? The first half of the year we get the constant easter egg vahi and the Toa being mostly categorised similar to the originals Second half of the year we get events named the same as in G1 and we get characters refrencing aspects of G1 also I mean from a fans sake its nice being able to say that 'i understood that refrence', but too much focus on refrencing the past just makes us compare G2 to G1 more often.

I think the issue is going to lie in that we get either the books or animations before each other. We'll end up getting 'Island Of The Lost Masks' near the end of August and there is no way that they'll have released the final 10 or so Summer animations by that stage. So we'll know all the details months prior to the animations airing schedule being completed Yeah, unfortunately you make a good point that we'll likely not see it in toy form. Though would likely to see people's attempts at custom versions

The transparent Gali and Tahu masks today, so completed the transparent set if anyone wants pics; Personally i think Basher is the only one i was not able to build prior to release, given his function remained obscured for a long time. It worth noting that if you plan on getting longer trans-blue CCBS pieces, you'd also need to find another longer piece to replace the bones given the asymetrical design of his body and legs specifically. Would be interested to see what you come up with though :3

Was the reveal that we would get an exclusive mask in a polybag, news that we got a month or so before the Hero pack reveal i believe. Admittedly wasnt as detailed as set names or anything like that though. I just trust him not to make things up himself, not sure about his sources.

Taking it as a potentially legitimate source, given i was there when he was right before Similar to other transparent masks it shows the head which looks odd to me, but its a nice mask and the map and skull spider are a nice addition. If you can get it fairly cheap then i'd say go for it.

Just so people understand why i think the 4chan leaks were legitimate; Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker were unvailed sometime around the 15th February. The 4chan leaks occured sometime after that before February 24th 2015. As such we can discount the leg pieces if you desire - however that doesnt rule out the rest of the pieces described. Other new pieces mentioned, such as the kneepad/shoulderpad were not seen until the reveal of Obi-Wan Kenobi on April 17th (2 months later) The inclusion of this piece for the first time in CCBS sets also was not shown in any CCBS set prior and was revealed with the 2016 CCBS Storm Trooper on 11th June 2015 (4 months later) So unless both of these were both random guesses, then that person either must have seen one of the 2016 CCBS Star Wars figures or another future CCBS sets with those pieces. The 4chan topic mentioned the villains for the winter wave and the Toa for the summer. (There may be more, but thats all it said) The names do not necessarily contradict the 4chan leaks; - The 4chan leaks specified 5 ghosts villains and Ekimu as a Toa - The name leaks for the Winter Wave were 5 ghost villains and 1 Mask Hunter While granted Mask Hunter could be a villain - Ekimu was called Mask Maker before. If he's joining the toa hunting the masks the name change could be justified. The Mask Of Time only means they were summoned from a different time - could be the past or future of this timeline. Doesnt necessarily mean that its a different timeline though.

Though yeah, chances are its just going to be padding or build-up to the Winter Wave, probably with the Toa battling against the Lord Of Skull Spiders for a second time after his defeat in the animations (And probably first book). That way they can fix the fact that there is still an army of Skull Spiders on Okoto that have'nt really been dealt with yet. Just pointing out the G2 book language does not appear to be the same language as shown in the animations or on Ekimu's mask - so guessing those are an entirely different easier to learn stylised version of the words in a similar style to the Okoto language, but not the actual language itself. I have the page and it is indeed correct, similar to the 4chan leaks I am now 99.9% certain that the 4chan leaks are real along with the additional storyline information, the only thing that hasnt been flat-out confirmed at the moment is the ghosts, yet everything else reported on has been confirmed at this stage Checking my copies of the 4chan leak information and i'm not spotting a mention of GITD piece, just an assortment of rather new colours such as platinum and a lot of trans-pieces. Though yeah, would love to see GITD bones, they would be awesome.

Not sure how much story people want to discuss here - so here are my non-specific thoughts from what i've read trying to avoid giving away too much of the story; Its definitely worth getting the book judging via the 30+ pages i've seen and i'm guessing 2016 will either have a much larger storyline or a lot more world building given we get multiple chapter books that year.Though i get the feeling anyone following the animations online will have gotten pretty much all the main storyline this book portrays. There is a lot of world building and places and characters being developed slightly with personality traits including one or two twists such as the aformentioned female Protector Of Earth. Also - spoilery book ending infomation + 2016 story/set comments; Can confirm;

If it was the Ebay one, think i might have accidentally brought that ._. Though yeah, they've appeared on Bricklink now so check there? I think its the 'rule of 6' that most of Bionicle has presented - the idea that the Water tribe normally is female dominated and that one of a group (usually the water tribe member) is female. Even though the masks were mentioned as being passed down from 'father to son' the animations kinda hint that all villagers and protectors have similar/identical masks. There could also be exceptions to this rule, to add more lore, such as a father not being succeeded by a son and thus passing it onto a daughter who must prove herself worthy? something like that i guess is what fans were hoping
